Well that's fine, if I'm using DVD Decrypter. Do you know where I can find that program?

yea thats simple. you dont necessarly need a flip top. You can use a Ghost Switch, or when i first using swap magic, you can use Tape. yea thats right Tape. duct tape to be precise.
heres an exert from Tokijins thread
7. Q. What do I need to use Swap Magic?
A. With fat PS2 v.1-11: Flip top: http://www.chipzone.com/installation/playstation2/fliptop/page1.cfm Slide Card: http://www.saveware.com/SlideCardUsageAndInstall.htm With Slim PS2 v.12-14
Flip top: http://www.chipzone.com/installation/playstation2/fliptop-v12/pag... Magickeys (also referred to as slide tool, slim tool or, magic switch): http://magickeys.net/ Ghost Switch: http://www.saveware.com/GhostSwitchInstall.htm Tape and Tissue mod: From Pretense: If the fliptop doesn't work, just give up on it and do a tape and tissue mod. Open up your case again and tape the back sensor (toward the upper left and beneath the hinge part of the lid) with duct tape or even regular Scotch tape (I use several layers to be on the safe side), put the case back together, and stuff a small ball of tissue into the hole for the front sensor (lower right just above the power button).
Pics (Thanks to PSPness): http://www.geocities.com/pstwoslimline/tapetissue.htm my tape and more tape
Just about the same, just a change on Censor 'A' and Censor 'B'
Censor B - http://img393.imageshack.us/img393/572/dsc010703xc.jpg keep the top closed, while you tape down the disk stopper, using a few layers of duct tape
Fur
Censor A - http://img393.imageshack.us/img393/4342/dsc010698we.jpg use tiny strips of duct tape to patch over the tiny censor. I used a screwdriver to help put on the tape.
Here's some additional pictures (Thanks to xhardc0re): http://www.console.com/product_ps2_pstwofix.php
And if you read some of the stickies all the way through. heres how to burn with Alcohol. once agin from tokijins thread
88. Q. How do I burn PS2 DVD games with Alcohol 120%?
A. Ripping the game to your Hard Drive:
1. Insert your disc.
2. Open Alcohol 120%.
3. Click Image Making Wizard.
4. Check Ignore read errors, select your recorder, leave the never seperate box alone.
5. Click Next. Select a destination for the game. Click Start.
Once the process is complete, you'll get an mds and an mdf file. Click finish, if necessary.
Burning the game to DVD:
1. Insert your blank disc.
2. Right click the mdf file.
3. Select Image Burning Wizard.
4. Select your recorder, set the write speed to 4x.
5. Click next.
Note: I use Alcohol 120% as my backup program for ripping scratched originals. DVD Decrypter can be picky with scratched discs. I use DVD Decrypter to burn the mds file. For purposes of this guide, I'm assuming you are using Alcohol 120% to burn the game to disc. Feel free to use whatever works for you.

Ok... more problems here... When I use DVD Decrypter write ISO mode, I choose to write 1x speed, but when it starts, it goes up to 4x... Any way to fix this? If I use 4x, it wont work as good... right? Alcohol does the same thing, only it says maximum speed in grey font (i cant change it) then it starts at 8x... AND, when I use Alcohol to make an image, I followed your steps of : Check Ignore read errors, select your recorder, leave the never seperate box alone : what is a recorder, and do I check never seperate, or do I leave it as it is (it says seperate image file every 4 gb)Thanks for the help... again...

Well I did follow your instructions, but what I want to know is how to control the copy speed of alcohol- it is stuck on maximum whenever I put the game in the drive and decrypter- It seems to be stuck on 1.1, even when I select "set read speed" to 2x or 4x under device in options.

82. Q. When I'm burning with DVD Decrypter or Nero I get an I/O error or some other strange error, I'm not sure my burner is in DMA mode, and I'm confused about different media, what do I do?
A. http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/FAQ.htm
1. Q. How do I burn PS2 games?
A. Use DVD Decrypter. Burn at 4x on a quality 8x DVD-R.

So I finally got the flip top cover in the mail today, and I put it all together. Now that the top is on, most of the screws on the bottom dont want to go on. (I only got 2 on) Did this happen with anyone else? Also, what did you do about the foil protection for the on/eject switches? They were a pain in the butt to get out of the way, and Im still not sure if they are being pinched or not...

69. Q. I'm a newbie? I've done this for years, why does my rating say I'm a noob?
A. Okay this doesn't get asked often, I just thought I'd clear it up anyway. Your ranking is based on number of posts. 25=Junior Member, 100=Member, 500=Senior Member, 2500=Afterdawn Addict. Now don't get any ideas in your head about posting monosyllabic messages to become an AD addict. You'll be banned long before you do. Anybody who's been around long enough to be an AD addict knows what they're talking about and should be given respect. Of course since it's post based some members will be more valuable than others. I.E. a noob could be more knowledgeable than a senior member. Just because someone is a Senior Member doesn't mean they're all knowing. Everybody was a noob at some point. Hell I've only been around these forums for four months or so.

Well thanks for clearing that up...
I have a regular PS2, not a slim... I tried taping the wires backwards then against the side... BTW, my first two attempts using DVD Decrypter and Alcohol 120% were successful! I even burned them on 12x and 1x... Thanks again for all the help... Although if any1 has any advice on changing burning speeds for both programs, Id appreciate it...

I have a huge problem trying to rip MGS2:Substance PS2 and use it with SWAP MAGIC 3.6. I've followed the old guide step by step and the hexing guide, but when i use CD/DVD GENERATOR to make the .IML file it says "TOO SHORT LOCATION LENGTH" So then i replaced the three 1 byte dummy files i recreated to the original DEMO2, STAGE2, & VOX2.DAT files, created the .IML file, used .IML2ISO then burned it with DVD Decrypter and it was no good. the game stood on the black screen after LOAD PROGRAM. WHAT THE HECK AM I DOING WRONG WITH THE DUMMY FILES??????? PLZ HHHHEEEEEEELLLLLLPPP!

well, you could get swap magic, no problem with that, except it doesnt pplay DVD-9 games, you have to rebuild them. and if thats the cost just for the installation, dont do it, send it to http://teammodders.com

I would of course suggest the fliptop and swap magic combo. You should be able to do that yourself.
