The DVDInfoPro has a retail and free version, http://www.dvdinfopro.com/ . Try the free one and let us know what the test results were on your current disc. If it doesn't have a problem with errors then you may still be looking at a clean install of your setup.

Are you overclocking, and what are your memory settings.

You might try the previous version or get the pro version.

Donald,
He's already mentioned the problem is specific to the one disc.
Quote:
In regards to your reply for my "Kung fu hustle" problem, why would other backups that I tried after the fail of KFH, still work without any issues.
I checked and there's nothing special about the DVD. It has Sony ARccOS and bad sector encryption, and AnyDVD and/or DVD Decrypter can handle the decryption with ease.

If it was an overclocking problem, he'd be having problems across the board. I already suggested the Pro, it's up to him to donate if he wants. He'll get more than what he's paid for with a small donation. Before the Pro releases, we were using the beta releases the same as everyone else and they worked fine. I wouldn't want to go back because I appreciate the extras with the Pro. That doesn't mean the free version doesn't work well for what it does. There is more than likely a problem with the disc being used. Even a fault in the setup wouldn't normally allow for some movies to encode and a particular one not, especially when there is nothing out of the ordinary about the DVD that doesn't encode properly. I guess we'll see when he tries another DVD. I'm still curious to see what the test of the disc would show.

I'm pretty sure it's the Kung Fu Disk and not RB or Decrytor.

I just finished backing up Master and Commander, without any problems.

I won't be able to test the disk for sure until tomorrow or Wed.

But I will report back once I do an exchange.

Looks more and more like the problem is with the KFH disk as you succeed with other DVDs. I'd almost bet a cool brew on it now.

Sorry if this has been asked to death, but with a 102 page thread, its kinda hard to go through every post.

Anway, here is where i am at: DvDDecrypter to copy full ET disk 2 to HD. Prepare phase of RB (1.0) works fine but when it tries to encode i get something to the effect of "V00000010010 says complete, but no m2v file found, aborted"

No error number or anything like that. ANyone have any idea what i am doing wrong?

Don't see why. First of all you only needed to install Avisynth v2.5.5. Install your encoder of choice, most of us like CCE. Then use the Rockas installer from http://www.dvd-rb.com and you have it. Then all you need do is get a good decrypted source to feed it using something like DVD Decrypter. Once you encode, you use your burner of choice. DVD Decrypter does a good job of burning when you choose the ISO option, may only be in Pro, I forget. But there's no longer any thing difficult about the install. All the info and some of the downloads are at the RB link I gave you.

Did you do the installation manually or with the Rockas installer? What version of Avisynth did you use and which encoder and version? If manually installed, which version of the decoder is in use?

hummas,
Make sure you set the links in RB for CCE....

Especially the application Paths....for CCE link the 1st 3 path options to the .exe file for CCE. Sometime's RB is a little picky as to what version you have, so just give all 3 path options the root to find the .exe of CCE.

Did you install the encoder, CCE SP 2.5, before or after you installed the Rebuilder?

Sounds as though you did everything in the right order. There's no issues with 2.5 though it is an older app. The installer sets the path for the EclCCE, you might want to check that out to make sure it's set properly to the exe file in the encoder folder. I don't have EclCCE set up right now and don't remember exactly which file it is. It'll be in notepad format though. Also double check the paths you've set. In the RB folder you'll find a file named rebuilder-Configuration Settings. It will open in Notepad format. Copy the contents here. At this point I'm thinking you may need to delete the setup and try reinstalling it, don't load over. It sounds like a flaw with the setup or the encoder. If you do that, make sure all your files come form the RB site or SourceForge.

Normally with the Rockas installer, the program fires up and works like a top with the installation being painless. It was more interesting when we were doing installs manually. Out of curiosity, what PC brand and model are you using, the CPU and speed, and operating system? I like to get a picture of what's being used.

HI
There are differences in CCE SP 2.66,2.67 and 2.70 !!!
I encoded a movie ( Devil's Advocate PAL ) with DVD-RB and CCE 2.66 first and then with CCE 2.70. The video of CCE 2.66 has lot of noise and is a litle bit sharper! On the other side CCE 2.70 has less noise and is more pleasant to watch! I wrote this couse everybody keep saying that are no differences beetween CCE's - but they are !
And the settings were all the same Q prec=16,VBR bias=25,2 pass !
Did anyone notice this???

Using DVD-RB v1.0RC5.1

I don't have the menu items for "create project iso" and "create/burn project iso" enabled. It doesn't matter if I shut down RB and re-start it, or change project source/destination settings, I can't get the menu items re-enabled. Movies encode with no problems, and "output to iso" works, but I cannot create an iso for pre-existing output.

The only thing I have done differently lately is to select "movie and menu only" for a few movies and changed it back to "full disc backup", and I no longer have these menu two options.

Those items will only be enabled if:

1. mkiofs.exe exists in either APP_PATH or APP_PATH\APPS.
2. DVD Decrypter is installed.
3. REBUILD as been completed for the selected source/working paths.

You can force them to be enabled by setting "PROGRESS=3" in the INI and restarting DVD-RB -- but if there isn't a completed VIDEO_TS folder it really won't help.

Thanks. I will try this. The most frustrating part about this is I have successfully used these menu items to create ISO images before, so there is nothing wrong with the setup/installation. I posted on here a while back with this problem, using RC4, and nobody else seemed to be having this problem. It used to be just an occasional thing, even with RC5.1, as I have created several ISOs with 5.1 using the menu. It seems strange to have to use a kludge to restore functionality I had just a couple weeks ago.

And before you ask: yes, there is a completed VIDEO_TS folder - it is the output folder from DVD-RB, and I have even tested it on another RB output folder that was used to 'automatically' create an ISO upon completion - I cannot create a new ISO from that directory as these 2 menu items stay greyed out on my system.

Whoops. I mistyped. The PROGRESS=3 goes in the REBUILDER.INF file not the INI file. You'll find it under the [Status] area.

That line was already in the .inf file.

Anyway, I fired up the Rockas installer and reinstalled the full package and that seems to have fixed it for now. Apparently, merely unzipping the upgrade files messes something up on my computer. This is the 3rd time since upgrading to pro (v.93) that I've had to do a full reinstall to fix something not working correctly.

Thanks for the quick response, though.

Just backed up the Ring 2 and RB made the file larger than a DVD-5 disk?

Why? I've backed up about 20 movies with RB and this is the 1st time I encountered this......

Update on my Kung Fu Hustle problem, It was the disk. For some reason Decrypter didn't copy all of the files to the HD. I had to manually do it. So RB worked.

But back to the Ring 2 problem, Why all of the sudden would the output be larger than usual?

I have DVD RB and one of the later, if not latest, Nero versions with Recode. They're updating Nero all the time. No problems with mine and I have a lot of other codecs on the system as well. The only way I could see interference is if some of the software somehow became corrupted. RB plays well with many other recording apps without problems. I just remembered, with Nero you will see files with the Nero icons in other program folders. They're still the same files. You'll notice the same thing if you add a program like PowerDVD. It takes priority on some file types and you'll see that program's icons on the files in other programs. That doesn't affect the working of the programs.
