Just got my order from SMS and the TY's are indeed TYG02, thanks for the headsup aabbccdd.

@all,
Just in case you didn't read my response on the previous page...lol. The Verbs are DVD-R 16X (code:MCC03RG20) and they are available in store if you print the add out and take it in. I had no problems doing this and they matched the price of $7.98 with a smile. Good luck and burn baby burn.

@cincyrob,
LOL...I am over the 1000 mark now with the latest 200 Verbs and 100 TYG02's. Not rubbing it in just preparing for some serious backups after the Christmas season. LMAO. Looking at redoing some of the ones from years past with poor media and all. Didn't learn until after the first 200-300 that I was using crappy media. Live and Learn as they always say.

There are many films I originally experimented with that I have redone, not only for choice of media, but also the nuances of personal preferences. I mean at first instead of re-authoring a movie with DVDshrink main title only, I'd try to achieve the same thing by just blanking out with a picture or color, shrink the menu too much for my player to navigate it, now I know better.

herrick,

Edit: I was going to suggest an Intel E6600 ($309 at newegg with free shipping) but I see you already have an AMD mobo and a cpu upgrade of the same make would be the way to go. The E6600 (2.4ghz 1066 fsb 4mb cache) will perform as well as or better than the opty 185 (2.6ghz 1000 fsb 2mb cache) (I'm not badmouthing your 185 by any means aabbccdd as it is still a bad a$$ cpu). You would have to buy some DDR2 memory and a different mobo.

My E6600 when it was stock (2.4ghz) would encode (with dvd-rb/cce) almost twice as fast as my P4 3.4ghz OC'ed to 3.6ghz. It's even quite a bit faster now at 3.0ghz. I encoded two folders last night with dvd-rb/cce (they included everything but the previews and warning screens)(one was initially 6.17gb and the other was 6.55gb), one in 41 minutes and the other in 47 minutes and that included menu encoding and building iso files. Either of those two folders would have taken two hours or more with my P4 3.6ghz rig. Probably closer to two and a half hours. The Intel conroe's are very OC friendly when used with the right mobo and run cool with a descent HSF.

Mine when stock would idle at about 24c and full load got to around 33-34c. OC'ed to 3.0ghz it idles at 29c and has briefly hit 43c under full load (not hot by any means). I plan on OC'ing it to 3.2ghz or 3.4ghz later.

The latter is called doing it on the "fly" drive to drive-- but yes rip a movie or what ever to your HD and if you have Nero 7 you w/ "multiple recorders" in use you can burn using both your drive at once...pretty cool A

@cincyrob

Yeah, I burn 2 or 3(2 internals and 1 externalUSB) at a time all the time. First get Shrink to create a nice ISO file to burn. The:

To multi burn an ISO file on HDD with 2 or 3 burners simultaneously:

1. Open Nero Ultra Suite 6.6.0.18
2. Open Nero Burning Rom (NBR)
3. X out the window that opens in NBR
4. Click on top left on FOLDER
5. Find where your ISO is located and highlight it and click open
6. Burn Compilation window opens:check multiple recorders. Then click burn. Burn speed is set to 8X
7. In the Choose recorder(s) window that opens, highlight the 2 burners you want to use (mine shows all three and will do them all). Click OK
8. Put media in drives as they will open automatically. They stay closed if they are already loaded.
9. Click on the burn Icon and both drives spin up. On a clean pc in 9 or 10 minutes, sometimes 18 min later, 2 discs. If doing 3 It takes at least 18min to do three. Can't get it any faster. Seldom do 3.

Sight to behold 3 burners going together.

I know what you mean... I liked 6 also but I got the 7 because of the light scribe options, which I have never gotten to work and I have instalded it 5 times, but 6 does not have the multi burn option so........I still use 7 its really cool when doing alot of disks.
