Nero 6.6.0.18 also handles lightscribe just as poorly as Nero 7 does.LOL Did you try it with a B&W image? You get better contrast but even with the 30 min burn in, the product is inferior.

mmm... Not sure what ver. of 6 I have, but I thought I tried them all and did not see any lightscribe in them? will have to recheck, I down loaded the contrast utility and it helped alot in the quality, but still really not all that inpressed with light scribe, was a let down! I wonder if the quality is better in the HP drives, which first came out w/ them first- I think?

@garmoon.. you can use mulitple burners on Nero 6.6.0.18???? i havent been able to find that part of it.. i think it might have to do with my version.. OEM... it has to be ripped as a ISO file first? or will it do the regular VOB files? you know just a regular RIP..?

my first burner is the HP740i(second is my new Lite-on SHW-160P6S) it has the lightscribe... im not to impressed with it and i also has the contrast utility also. the HP's arent any better at the light scribe i dont think.

Ya... its a bummer- I am very happy w/ my Benqs other then the light scribe- mostly got the benqs because of the price and the smart tech. that came w/ it over burn, learning different media, book type and more, but the lightscribe is nothing how PC magazine said it was... still sitting on 100 disks that are Philips which at the time I did not know they coded out as CMC mags LOL live and learn...

I have a couple of ver. of 6 and still do not see any lightscribe , but i did find this:

this pdf shows that ver. 6 has multiple recorder on page 19 and 29

the ver. must be a retail ver. not OEM

Just got those Verbs that I ordered yesterday in today- had to go back and check if I had ordered some last week, but did not... man that was fast, nexted day- makes up for the shipping- although I am setting on 300- 400 already but, then again the stupid CMC mags I got unknowingly dont count LOL

7.5.9.0a is a good version. No problems on my end.
I use the multiple recorder but too - no coasters from it yet :)

herrick is right need the retail version - the oem version doesn't have this option.

multiple burns are present in ver 6 of Nero, but has to be the full program not oem. but if you have ver 7 try it there.

My version of Nero is a retail version, but it has been upgraded and reinstalled from these files below. NeroUltra Suite 6.6

nero version 6.6.0.18 updates:
Package 1

The lightscribe feature with my LG external burner came with software that installed in my Nero Suite. Then I later downloaded some software to intensify the burn from HP. After about 5 burns I stopped using it. Technology has a long ways to go.

As for NBRom not having the multiburn option, mine does in the mode that I'm using to burn the ISO files from a folder. The multiburn option appears in the burn tab option in compilation window. I assume you could multi burn the regular VOB files that Shrink puts out too. Never tried. I just learned it the way with the ISO files with the help of creaky, who I believe is using 66018 also to do multi burns. Anyway he got my interest peaked, a while back, after I got 2 benq 1650s. I use ISO a lot with old movies that are single layered with Imgburn to build and write along with AnyDVD. And also exact copies of DL discs.

Yeah I know about the two other downloads. One is for InCD and since I have Roxio installed with Drag and Drop, I don't need those conflicts. The other program I don't remember what it's for. I didn't need it so I passed. I don't think downloading those two packages would give you the capability to do multi buirns, Rob. You may have to buy it to get multiburn option; I'm not sure tho?

well i just did my first multiple burn session.. i ripped the movie in ISO form to HD. then setup the 2 drives to burn @ 8x, and like the infomercial i set it and for get it..lol took almost 12 mins to burn them both.. that is sweet. running scans on them now to see how they did.. i used 16x+r verbs

well here is the scans of the 2 disc.
first scan is on my liteon SHW-160P6S
second scan is on my HP740i
not that good but not terrible either.

to be honest i think i get better results out of the 16x verbs burnt at 12x.. these were done at 8x

I thought you were getting better looking scans than that. How is playback even though they look a little less than desirable?

Here is my first scan and write with the MCC 03RG20 media from Verbatim. I like them so far. Can't wait to try the TYG02's that I got in on Tuesday.

Recorded with a LITEON SHW-160PS not the Sony that it indicates (for some reason Nero sees this drive as a Sony) and playback is good as far as I can tell.

i have been getting alot better scans than those there. but like i said it is my first multiple burn plus i only burned those 16x disc at 8x... for me and my system i seem to think burning them at 12x i get better results.. but both movies play perfect.... i dont think i have a big enough CPU to be doing 2 at once...only 341 celeron D CPU...to tell ya the truth it didnt seem like the system was struggling to do it so who knows. plus i forgot to disable the internet like i normally do

im kinda scared of those 16x-r verbs we all got..... i looked back at a few of my scans i did with the memorex disc and i got the same code as these disc here we got.(by the way my parents just bought me 150 more of them). i think they might not be the top of the line verbs we are use too.

I wouldn't be to worried about the Verb's. I have the same DVD drive that you do and it writes like a dream. lol. I know that different setups do different things but the Verb's are GOOD stuff. My puter is an AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2.0Ghz w/ 1GB RAM, not that impressive but it gets the job done.

Have any of you tried the TYG02's lately. aabbccdd I know that you have, still burning like a madman are you? I have a brand new 100 pack that is begging to heat up an optical drive or two. I have used the TYG03's and they are OK but I really like the TYG01's, simply put they are unbelieveable. I still have a few of them left but I save them for only the most incredible movies. lol.
