google it or you can go to pspupdates.com... make sure you know what you are doing cause you might brick your psp.... make sure you psp is dowgradable... if you are running 3.03 now i dont think they have a way to downgrade it yet (i might be wrong i've been out of the loop for about a week. a lot of things happen in a week) check it out let me know....

If you dont take the dive, you will be missing out on the 3.03oe-c pool party. Dont be afraid of the deep end because who wants to play in the kiddie pool?

I know, take the dive and go downgrade your psp. Dont be afraid of downgrading because it wont brick your psp, only you can brick your psp.

Hi. I just downloaded NFS Carbon too. It came with DevHook 0.46 ultimate installer.
I've installed the DevHook stuff and copied the .cso file to the ISO folder in the root of my memory stick. (I tried placing the .cso file in the GAME folder, but it didn't make any difference)
If I try to run DevHook, I get the error message "This game could not be started. The data is corrupted"
I'm pretty new to this & haven't got a clue what to do!!
Can anyone help by pointing me to a step by step guide please? I have found other forems, but they tend to have quite ambiguous and often conflicting information!
The PSP seems to be telling me that my firmware is 2.71 and the last digits on the serial number are PSP1000 if that makes any difference!
Thanks in advance!!

Upgrade to 3.03 OE-c or even now 3.10 OE A rev2, although this might work on your 3.02 OE.
1) You do not need any emulator if you have any of these custom firmwares.
2) Make sure you have an ISO folder in your mem stick (I think this is created when you upgrade to a custom firmware, but I do not remmember well, if not, just create it)
3) Put your ISO file (game) in the ISO folder directly (e.g. do not put a folder inside the ISO folder)
4) Just select game in the Media bar and you should see your game icon.
5) Press x to start

I forgot something important!!
You need to have a game UMD inserted (any will do) for the game to run, otherwise you will get a "game could nt be started ....." error

Ok, so i am fairly new to custom firmware, but i installed 3.02 OE-B and tried moving some of my existing PSX roms to the ISO folder, in the psp drive. for some reason i couldnt find any way to run these roms. Because My comp is XP it calls the .IMG files, i have a feeling that they are different from ISO's... i tried mounting them to a virtual drive but couldnt figure out what to do from there. any help would be much appreciated.
EDIT:
They are not .IMG files they are just called IMG files...

Yes, i did have one in... i downloaded a converter which allows me to make iso's into eboots. but now when i try to launch these the screen goes black and stays that way. Anyone got any idea how to fix this?
EDIT:
Dont Worry, I upgraded to 3.03 OE -C and it worked perfectly!

Ive had the same problem with getting iso games to work in custom firmware. They wouldnt show up under game/memory stick, i was trying all different things. if your a newbie to homebrew n stuff im pretty sure u need step by step instructions. im in 303 OE-C firmware. if u cant get iso to show up under the memory stick option try converting to a different format like .cso or something using a psp compressor/converter i use yacc{yet another cso converter} works fine and put them in the iso folder that should be in the root of the memory stick. I also found that this other method works. Download this file http://www.psp-hacks.com/downloads/USB_Mod_v4b.rar
open the file extract the other rar file that has your custom firmware version and open the file u just extracted. extract the ms_root folder only you only need this folder. and copy the seplugins folder to the root of your memory stick, overwrite if necessary when finished turn your psp all the way off and restart while holding in the R button on your psp and go to plugins and enable buzzusbvsh.prx then exit. when you boot up hold SQUARE youll notice that your memory stick will blink for about a second, go into the saved data utility option under game to refresh your database go back then go to memory stick under game and your iso cso games should be there. if not hold SQUARE once more go back into saved data utility again and refresh again it may come up after that. i found that this works by accident. and dont be afraid it wont brick or do anything harmful to your psp so try as u may, laterz...
