How do I play an PSP ISO on my PSP?

yeah thats true i didn't really think about it as much, but you can play iso's without devhook with the modchip if you have them in the game folder with the % and non % things

need more help!
i asked before about how i downgrade and run iso's- it all works, thanks to u.
one more thing though, ive been trying to make dax ziso work, but it just wont.
i put all the files in the root, put the .dax file in the "iso" folder and after i run it on my psp, i get a black screen and i have to remove the battery to restart it.
can anyone help? (by the way, the iso im trying to run needs FW 2.5)

I NEED HELP PLEASE!!!!!
i have everything needed fw 1.50 and the UMD Emulator ok so i'm trying to play dragonball z shin budokai everything is in the right spot its an iso file and its put in my iso folder and the UMDEmulator folders are in the right spot. ok so when i turn on my psp i go to game and then i go to memory stick. Ok the emulator says UMDEmulator and has like an evil lookin smiley face. i have a umd in the psp and i start the emulator. a black screen appears with gold letters on it sayin stuff like flash1 emulation and CPU/Bus speed and ISO mode, Disctype ISO, and other stuff i turn the flash emulation stuff on and i press start. my screen goes black then returns to the same screen or if i press x alot then i will do the same thing. PLZ let me know what i'm doin wrong my aim sn is dballa915 or just reply to this message

ok so i deleted that and start using fastloader a black screen comes up and it says dump umd or start umd i click dump and it dumps then the screen goes black and it says it again. ok so i'm about to use devhook

Alright so I am new here and hello btw. It's amazing all the things I have learned just by reading this thread but I am still having trouble. I have Bleach: Heath the Soul 3 iso decrypted it, ran it through UMDGen with the new prx files. Followed the instructions to set UMD Emulator as system menu, popped in my Lumines UMD did the MPH Loading and it just sits at the Loading game screen for MPH.
I also just tryed the new version of Devhook (0.46) and I select the iso and then go to start game and it goes to a black screen for about 5 seconds and turns my psp off.
I had version 2.71 but used the easy downgrader and have 1.5 now. My SNES emulator works great just can't get the PSP one working...

Yea I know that's alot and sorry if it's too big for the forums, but can someone tell me what I am doing wrong and what I need and don't? If it would be easier just to format my MS, and have detailed instructions on what and where to install stuff I don't mind doing that either. Because I think I may have no put something in the "MP_Root". Because I don't have a folder like that on my Memory Stick. Any detailed walkthroughs would be appreciated.

Ok I formatted my card and did the devhook .46 ultimate installer, it gets to the emulated 2.71 software and for the UMD it shows Bleach and everything I click to start it and does the psp opening screen, goes to a black screen and stays there. It doesn't reset my psp or anything just a blackscreen with my memory light blinking sometimes. Any ideas?

Hey PPlz can any1 help me i've been trying to load an iso (Ridge Racer) on fastloader v7, i have FW 1.5 this is my folder set up it should be correct.

I got as far as the INITIALIZING and it just froze their with Fastloader and with UMD Emulator v0.8c i can start up the emulator change the settings, and when i select the iso it restarts the psp and only shows the UMD in the drive.... any ideas
+ i double checked on the folder lay-outs
+ i can load the hewbrew but not the iso
+ the iso is detected
Qns. i have UMD emul, fastloader, and devhook installed do i only need 1 and which 1?

most people seem to recommend devhook, i personally favour it, so i would give it a try and i have never had a problem with it!

i had a look around and mangaed to find devhook .46 ultimate, i managed to run the iso's on it (ridge racer, fifa street 2 and carsh tag team racing) tahnks for the tip now the only thing left is to get the dumb feature on fastlaoder runnin and im set thanks.
Thanks to all the pplz that created the fourm it has been a great help
you made my PSP more enjoyable

Newbie here too. Thanks for this forum I was able to get Lumins up and running straight from UMD Emulator 0.8c. However, I haven't been able to get any newer games going since UMD Emulator just hangs with occassional MS light blinking.
I have a question. If I were to play a ISO requiring newer firmware, does it mean that I have to load devhook (0.46) first and then UMD Emulator? If that's the case my UMD Emulator icon disappears after loading devhook. Is that normal?
Also, what's the point of selecting an ISO under devhook?

Never mind I answered my own question. I have to put a UMD in the slot and scroll to see the UMD for the emulated game. Thanks.

Ok noobie here AGAIN lol xD, anyways, still having problem with ONLY ONE ISO image valkyrie, Since 3 days ago, i downloaded 6 copies >.> i will so going to jail LMAO, from like 4 different websites, including, isohunt, torrentspy, gamecopyworld, mininova, none of the copies work, and interesting enough all of them freezes at the same scene, and same combat,....... am i just that unlucky not finding the right iso or DEVIL played a joke on me T_T........ anyways if no one can figure out, i will just give up.. and anyone have some recommendation on RPG games... i have enough sports+ fighting >.>40+ muahahhah. Thank you For all your help and contribution, U all rock Panxors xD

Hi guys,
there are noobs, and very noobs, i am the second case :)
I have a new PSP whit FW 2.71, and what I read until now, thats impossible to play isos in the Memory Card and downgrade the Firmware.
Is that true ?
In other words, there no solution for my badly case ?
ps: my english is a litlle "bad", so maybe i dont understand some topics, and for that, i put this question.

no that is not true you can easily downgrade 2.71 with this http://www.psp-hacks.com/file/755 and it will put your fw back to 1.5 and you will be able to read iso off the ms
For a While i have escaped time but to return when they need you most to come back on a vendetta like a have thats just simply MAGIC!

hi there just recently downgraded my psp a few quick qs need help i bought my psp i think. 2.6 bought coded arms and gta upgraded to play gta so whatever firmware is required for gta i must have been on there ok, now i used to use a program called eloader to load homebreqw app buty resently i downgraded using some downgrader to 1.5, im using devhook .46 ultimate setup 1 gb stick and some program that put loads of emulator on everything good, but do i need eloader what was its purpose was it to allow unsigned app being played do i still need it?also what is the best iso loader i have only tried devhook but cannot put many iso on what a bout daxciso or any other ones any good. i know devhk plays iso @ cso what do the other loaders play so ultimatly tring to wrk out the best all round loader?

ok - way n00b psp'er, so far unable to get a game to run.
Have a Jap psp with 1.5 firmware out of the box.
got a 2G card today, have an iso, have Ultimate installer 1.1.
Am going to start from scratch (again)
- format 2G card
- run UI 1.1.1, install Devhook 0.46 w/ 2.71 firmware
- agree etc, select PSP root (G:\)
- copy .iso into iso directory
So I have a clean psp, nothing but devhook 0.46 and a game iso on it. I don't have a UMD as my psp didn't come with one..
- run Devhook
- UMD select -> iso
- firmware -> 2.71
- boot select -> reboot XMB
- START
PSP reboots with Devhook v0.46 background in 2.71 firmware
no game runs
the devhook app under games says 'this game cannot be started. the data is corrupted'.
I am at a loss as to what I am doing wrong, have followed 3x step by step guides over 3 hours and am yet to get anything running..
any help would be much appreciated..

Hey PAL,you need the UMD inside...You can use even the sampler UMD.
Only games that require 1.5 fw and down are playable without a UMD.
