ive got a psp 1.50 and i want to play a cso game, ive got the cso file, i put it in the iso folder and ive got devhook 2.71-2.8 hybrid.
when i load it up, i put these as the settings for it:-
UMD select - the cso file
UMD mount - iso any umd
Umd version - 2.xx to 2.0
firmware - 2.71
cpu clock - 222mhz/111mhz
Boot select - reboot xmb
remote control - remote controller
preload adress - 0x89000000
autorun option - disable
usb option - enable
screenshot option - disable
quick usb select - disable
I then click on start, and this blue screen comes up saying 'setting information is corrupted. Press O button to repair and restore default settings.' i then click the circle button, it just restarts and the blue screen comes up again.
I'm a big newbie so can someone just tell me what i should change the settings to and tell me what the problem is with the setting information thing.
i will really appreciate it if someone could help
thanks

You should install Dark_AleXs custom firmware. The latest custom firmware is 3.40 OE-A but unless you can install it I would recommend going with a custom firmware that has been made into a easy installer. Post back with any questions and comments.

I'm not sure if anyone is getting this too, but I recently upgraded from my japanese psp1000 1.5 > 3.03 OE-C custom firmware and immediately put games in the ISO folder. Some of these files don't even show up on the memory stick, but if i format the mem stick and put the cso of the game that previously didn't show, it would be there only if there were no other iso/cso files there. So basically if i had .cso A,B,C,D. I put A, then B and all is good on the psp. I once put B first then A and A wouldn't show up. I tested C and D respectively from a formatted mem stick and they worked, but after trying to put A and B on with it, both A + B didn't display under the mem stick. So basically I can't put all 4 together and this baffled me because it wasn't a corrupt .iso/.cso issue. I can't resolve this. It's not a memory problem I still have 200MB remaining if I put all of them on... it just doesn't display all my .cso.
And yes I have my "no-umd: disabled," also i have a umd in the psp and it's set on 1.5 kernel. Any help would be appreciated.
I tried putting a video, some pictures, and music after transferring two perfectly functioning .cso that show up in the game folder and those media files came up as corrupt, but the games worked. Thus I am thinking maybe the sony mem card is partly corrupted, not sure if this could happen.

*** Noob Alert***
Just thought I'd give everyone fair warning. I've read through this thread and am thoroughly confused. However I think I get it now, I just want to check a couple of things.
I'm currently running firmware 2.81 so what I need to do is upgrade to the latest Dark Alex offering (3.10 oe-a, if I'm not mistaken) and from there I can then run the .iso files dumped from my UMD discs if they are in the ISO directory which comes straight from the system root (and not in the PSP directory or any of the others). I still need a valid UMD disc in the drive. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong.
***Serious Noob Alert***
This is probably a stupid question (and yes, I know I could just experiment) but if I boot up with a UMD disc in, presumably I need to exit to home to get to the .iso files on my memory stick?

Well the easyiest option would be to use a .iso compressor. This is known in the PSP community as a .ciso (Compressed .iso). These compressed .iso's are compatible with DevHook and DarkAleXs custom firmwares. Heres a link to the page for a popular .ciso program over at http://www.psp-hacks.com
