Oh I didnt know it was for movies only. I only want to back up PS2 games, but I thought Ripit4me would work since it burns DVD's and PS2 games use DVDs. Also what is this ArcOss code that Ripit4me is known to take off, is it on PS2 games. I was told by a friend that PS2 does not have as much protection as a regular DVD, well, can you tell me if it uses any protection and if so which? If Dvd decrypter is used to burn PS2 games and Ripit4me uses Dvd decrypter cant they both be used for the same purpose?

RipItMe doesn't burn per se - it's just a program that 'brings' like 3 apps together. The burning is actually done w/ Nero, ImgBurn or Decrypter. But again it's only for movies and some movies have the ARccOS protection on them.
Decrypter does the games like PR0BLEMS posted.

you might need to update your firmware for your burner drive, or you might have a bad original, try a different game, if it keeps happening you might need to reinstall dvd decrypter, by the why what game is giving you trouble

I can't even believe this thread has gotten this long, and you should have just done a forum search for memor32 and you would have found some threads started already.

In this link there is a compatibility list started and a link to a post on maxconsole.com about the memor32.
What firmware are you using and what backup isn't working for you?

How to Copy a PS2 game if you live in the UK.
Well here goes. First read 'hiredgoon' contribution towards the top of this post. This will copy and burn your PS2 game. But, in order to play it you don't need a modchip, you can use a'ps2 boot disc' this fools the PS2 console into thinking that the backup game is an original PS2 game. You need a 'Swap Magic v3.6 plus a Slimtool mk2. All available from techwizad.com
Hope this helps!

hey guys, need a bit of help,
i can usually burn ps2 games onto DVDR's easily by using nero, i got a chipped ps2 btw, and i recentley got need for speed pro street and ripped it to my laptop, when i try and burn it no prog lets me burn it at 1-2x speed! alcohol 120% only allows 4x, so does nero and with DVD decrypter i put 2x speed only, but it went up to 4x instead and i have wasted like 3 DVDR'S! anyone know why? thanks!

yeah, i usually burn my games on 2x speed, and they work, but recently my laptop's DVD drive broke, and HP replaced it, and my games worked with the old one.. this is the first time im trying to burn a ps2 game with the new DVD drive, so maybe that's the problem? i have also tried it with my sisters laptop and they dont work, switching media? you mean DVDRs? i used maxell dvd-r's previously, now i use tevion dvd+r's, does that make a diff? cause i burned the game on both, the maxell one burned at 2x but it still wasnt working, the screen just goes dodgy and blurry when i play it, plus i used 4x speed with the tevion ones and still the same problem lol well i'll try again but any ideas guys? cheers

I have a problem on burning my ps2 backups
I always use magic swap 3.6 jap to play games but when i burn backup games, the games run really crappy and get stuck, wont even run smooth.
I have seen posts here saying using dvd-r is better than +r so I tried it but the magic swap cd says that it is not a ps2 dvd!! I am pretty sure my dvds are not that crappy and they are memorex so i think they should be okay... SOME ONE PLEASE HELP!!!!

you should really read the thread that question has been asked 1000s of times but here is 1001, memorex SUCK period. Use tiayo Yuden, and verbatims -R , burn at 4x or half the burn speed of the disc, also swap magic cannot load all games, some games are bigger than swap magic.

No sarah , with Swap magic and a tool , to open the ps2,
It replaces the mod-chip, Not a easy , or convient,
But it works and is much less cheaper and hassle of
installing a modchip.
Good luck

If you cant tell if you have a writer, you need to learn more about computers first. Without basic knowledge of computers, you wont be able to figure out how to back up your games. I am not trying to be mean, but thats how it is.
my computer (laptop) has a dvd drive and it works

Best way of burning PS2 games, is from an ISO at 2x or 2.4x speed for antialiasing in the bootsectors, this makes the PS2 game understand it, I think PS1 is 1x and 2x, but PS3 games are blue-ray, so that's 4x, 8x and 16x.
I don't suggest you pirate them though, its illegal to sell them off after ripping. Back-uping is legal.
