I also get 130, but they include set gofl. Do you know what the 11 xtra ones are? Is it worth chasing up?

I have noticed that ? sport isn't there.

Where are you? what box have you?
I only get 130 on my nokia in dublin (get 141 on the sagem). I can email you my working nokia image, I should have really downloaded my service.xml file too. My image would reorder your channels though.

A roundabout way is to download your image, flash mine, take my service file (and may as well take cables) then flash back your image, and put on my service and cables. OR copy your bouquet, then flash my image and replace my bouquet with yours. I am not sure if this will bring in the missing 11 though.

Eurosport was named as granada men & motors on sadam's image, it is renamed on mine. Scuzz is now gone completely, I renamed it "previously scuzz", it is likely any new NTL channel will appear there, this means you would not be forced to rescan, but the channel will be called "previously scuzz" unless you go into the service.xml and rename it.

This suits me as my nokia will not be able to generate a full service file if they do add a channel.

Whats the Network Table?
Where do you think all the frequencies are coming from if you do a search via default frequency and netid. The network information table is located at the default frequency. If a UPC engineer botch that thing you get nothing via a netid search.

I have a sagem, and in dub.
I'll check later, if i have gran... i don't normally go that far down.
I took the latest image from benifa, changed the cables and did an ntl ie scan.

It gave me about ~156 (inc data and radio)

Benifa has my service file up on his site
http://www.ifawilson.com/downloads/Dbox/Dublin/from%20ruprect/
it works alright but I found my UK 6887 gives a more slightly more stable scan. The cables.xml that I posted a link to has plenty of service providers to try scans with.

Is there a way to get all the channels on the Dreambox to show up automatically in the same order as on the Chorus Box, without having to set them up in the Bouquet.

Hi there, I'm still looking for the most stable image.

Is this one working well for you still?

My current set up is mostly fine, but it still freezes a bit and requires a reset every day or so. Ideally I'd like to avoid this if possible.

Does anyone have a image that works fine for them: without freezes and restarts?

Thanks again,
Robert

What do you get if you select chorus cable?
Fast scan must be disabled.

I scanned on nokias and on 3 sagems, in tallaght & killiney, all I can get is 130 stations. It misses the same section every time (posted below). I have my old service files and just load them on and the stations seem perfectly fine. 2 of the sagems lost all their channels last night, recovered with a shutdown. I would recommend the nokias over the sagems due to the stronger signal it gets.

<transponder id="0005" onid="a701" frequency="299000000" inversion="2" symbol_rate="6887000" fec_inner="9" modulation="3">
<channel service_id="01f5" name="MUTV" service_type="01" />

If you connect a device to a cable feed by yourself you are the cable engineer and you are responsible for the correct signal strength. A sagen tumer need a stronger signal. BER should be around zero.

Thanks, mgb17 for all your help.

I basically put on the new cables.xml as directed and things started to happen. Made a few mistakes and got a kein system that I had to sort out, then a few computer problems, but came out the other side.

Picking up more channels than on the basic chorus box has. These seem to be lower signal. Perhaps they are just doing tests.

Thanks ahain,

Habcat

Couple of freezes, put box seems to be able to cope, and sorts itself out. Havent had to pull the plug yet.

I am not sure what you mean by "responsible", are you saying it could be helped without a booster or something? e.g. poor cables, or loose contacts. My BER is 0. If an NTL guy came to install and had a poor signal what could he do?
BTW is there any way of getting info on frequencies etc from a pace box?

I am just notifying people that if they recently got a box and scanned in dublin be aware that if you only get 130 TV stations then a uptodate service file or image will probably work for you. Mine are posted here

If you get a BER around zero signal and tuner are ok.
It looks like UPC is playing with some channels in ex NTL and ex Chorus areas and the signal strength is lower at that frequencies. In some ex Chorus areas the frequency table was not updated after the channel upgrade.
There is currently a lot of testing at the line.

Flash a UK modded gemini and do a manual channel search via 218000 or 282000.
A patched galaxis pop-t box for 50 or 60 Euro is cheaper if you are able to find one.

I'm having real trouble trying to flash images to my Nokia D-Box (Sportster image).

IFA is not connecting to the box (am connecting with crossover cable) and I cant seem to get it to work.

I have connected to the box by FTP and transferred over a new image to the tmp folder.

However when I try to write this image using the "Write whole image" command the image I transferred turns up but when I try to write I get the message "Cant open MTD-Device"

Any idea what this means and how to get around it, I've had a very frustrating evening!

Thanks

Unfortunately I've developed (yet another) problem and (temporarily) wrecked my box in the process.

I was trying out different images but somewhere along the way I must have done something wrong.

When I plug in my D-Box a bunch of numbers etc come up on the LCD display.

Down the bottom it says "kein System" and it will not start up.

Any idea how to fix this? Like I said the only way I've been able to flash images so far is to transfer them by FTP and then flash them in Sportster but this is no longer a possibility as the D-Box wont boot.

Is there an alternative to IFA, like I said I cannot get it to work.

Thanks,
Robert
