I followed the tutorial and successfully burned gow. However the iso i burned was like 600 something megabites. The game works but I dont want to play through and find out that the game is incomplete or something. Is the iso size supposed to be that small after u build it in apache?

Same here. I rented the game and ripped it and I've still got the original ISO on my HD. I attempted to make a back up copy twice and failed both times. I followed the tuttorial completely and still the game freezes up at a certain point.
Another thing, at the part in Sonix's tutorial where he says that I should have four files gow.000, gow.001, gow.002, and gow.003, I've only
gotten gow.000 and gow.001.
Again, the total file size for all 16 files is 7.93 GB.
What's the problem?
And has anybody actually gotten gow.000, gow.001, gow.002, and gow.003???
After cutting out every single .psw and .pss file I was left with an ISO of 2 GB...
Perhaps we're not supposed to cut out all of the pss and psw files?
That would probably explain why the game freezes up at certain points like the fmv is missing.

What size is your new ISO? Mine was just about 2GB after cutting out every pss and psw file...
It booted too, but froze up later.

oh my god, this thread is still going ;) if you want to make a backup of GOW get a dvdrw+dl & make a backup - if you don't have a matrix or a dms just patch it with the toxic thing ;-)

Ok ive used both tutorials. The first ended with a 3.47gig burn that froze after the main character has his flashbacks of killing people (near beginning of game after 3 hydra battle). Then i used the downsampling tutorial which took forever and i only got to one of the last steps cuz after i tried to rebuild with munge-O-matic it froze at the same file twice while rebuilding(pand02a.wad). Also i couldnt use pss-plex to split bonus03.pss so if i did get to the last part i would have had to make my own iml file which would have certainly created more problems for me.Plz FOR THE LOVE OF GOD SOMEONE HELP ME. it seems backing this game up has become an impossible task and im at the end of my pitiful rope.

Hey, I got it working now!! The final ISO file size should be 3,643,366 kb and it's like 3.7 GB when burnt to a DVD.
I screwed up last time. Came to find out I deleted all of the .PSS files when I was supposed to only delete the bonus .pss files.
And everything else worked out perfectly. The PS2 isn't making a weird noises and the game is playing perfectly!! XD
Hey, Pimpnate. This may help.
1) Use the tutorial and tools mentioned in Sonix's tutorial in this topic.
2) Make sure you delete every .PSW file and ONLY the Bonus.PSS files (there's like seven of them).
3) When you get to the linking part. You should be able to link the missing .PSS files with their .PSW counterpart up until you're
only left with the Bonus.PSS files. Link those with any other avaliable .PSS files.

I followed the tuturial burned it and put it in my PS2 with crystal chip. It worked initially but then froze up at the part of the pandora rings at the crank in the circle - It just said Loading forever. So i reset it and now it wont work? I keep hearing these funny noises coming from my PS2 - Should i try the tuturial again? Is doesnt matter what files i relink my .pss files to? I have more than 1 file relinked to one file on the right? thanks......

Here is my problem, used DVD Decrypter and chose the C:\ as ISO read and when it got done, here is what I got on my C:\ when I wen't and found what it had done. I saved as the default onto my C: DRIVE.
ONE file was a MDS IMAGE that said GODOFWAR and was just 9kb.
SECOND file said GODOFWAR.I00 and was I00 FILE???? and was 4,194,302kb
The THIRD file said GODOFWAR.I01 and was an I01 FILE????? and was 4,128,738kb.
What am I doing wrong, can't seem to just get one ISO file to extract like everyone is saying to do. What is the very first program you should use to get the ISO? If I'm right the way it is, what should I do next? Please, this is the only game that I can't seem to copy. I always have used Nero EXPRESS and just chose my burner that I want to use and then just choose COPY ENTIRE DISK and have never had one yet that wouldn't copy that way until now. Even the new SPLINTER CELL copied that way with no problem. Am new at these programs, but lost after using the DVD Decrypter!!!!!!

boners954,
go into your DVD Decrypter and look under settings....go to the tab that say ISO WRITE...make sure that under this setting that it is not splitting your files...it seems like you have this setting marked and that is why you are getting more than one file..

I think u need to format your hard drive to NTFS, cos only NTFS system can support files that are lager than 4gb.
by the way does any body know where i can find the full GOW DVD9 ISO file for BT, cos i want to try it out with the toxic dl patcher. Thanks

Ok--Found my other 80 gig hard drive and formatted with the NTFS file system along with XP PRO with SERVICE PACK 1 for now. Used DVD Decrypter to make my ISO to my C:\. It told me that my ISO was 7.93 gig. Is this correct? Now, opened up APACHE 2 and extracted both layers into a folder on my desktop. In that folder is 16 files at 7.93 GB. Am I were I need to be for now? PLEASE, never had to do this before to copy a game as I stated earlier in another post???? Seems that I'm lost as to what to do now. The next step in JZMAK post is not clear to me as to what program I should use next to see the .PSW and .PSS files? Little guidence from this point would be a plus from you guys who have gotten this to work!!!! I got lost when it came to the part where it said extract the GODOFWAR.TOC. So, I did that to another folder just to see what it would do, it just copied the samething to that folder, so I'm no farther than I was before? HELP, GUYS. Little brother might scratch disk before I get a copy of it for him to use!!!! Don't want him to break my copy and leave me out in the dark!!!! THANKS FOR YOUR INPUTS
