Has anyone backed up God of War PAL version?

I have followed Sonix tutorial and the files sizes are different (not to much different and i have followed it properly and gotten the same sizes for the 3 times i have tried) and i also got the can't find SYSTEM.cnf problem at the end. I am in the process of trying to back it up without removing the BONUS material so I will have to check that out.

Also i have copied it using ISOBuster and other things but is that the backup where it freezes on a certain level?
The game itself does start up but i havent had a chance to see if it works fully or not.

Anyone know?
Any help with PAL version would be great to.

Hi! I dowloaded a backup copy for my original God Of War and I have problems with adjusting the game screen. Is there an option to adjust the screen? I didn't find it in both versions. I'm asking because maybe I'm blind :) The copy I downloaded is "God Of War - PS2 - PAL DVD5 - 100% working!!!", 3,86 GB (bajtów: 4 150 493 184) and yeah, it works but the game screen does not fit the TV screen :( and almost one third is cut :/ Does anyone else have such problem with this version?

HELP please, I can't register to backuptools! I've waited 48 hours and I have yet to receive a confirmation to their site.

Can someone please post a link for Apache 2?

Get it here:

http://www.filemirrors.com/search.src?type=begins&file=Apache+2.0...

And download "Apache 2.0.rar".

GOW is too big to rip and burn to a DVD. You've got to follow the tutorial in this topic to cut out the bonus footage and shrink the overall size of the game then burn it to a DVD.

Then you can play it in your slim ps2.

I honestly don't remember...I got it a while ago, didn't play for a long time and picked it up again about a week or so ago....

I didn't use the Sonix tutorial, no...the game worked fine and I didn't get any of the errors others were talking about. Once in Pandora's, defeating the Minotaur caused a crash....

I am having a very difficult time using the necessary software from http://www.backuptools.co.uk/ needed to back up my God Of War game on a 4.7GB disc. I downloaded all the software, but I would attempt to run it but I would get an extraction error everytime I attempt to do so. I was wondering if I am the only with the problem or could someone please send me just the .exe files needed to run apache2 and GODOFWARTOOLS. Can someone please assist ASAP!!!

Hey there guys.
**Im New. Apologise now for silly question!**
I want to backup God of War on a DL Disk!

I found this from GT4 Forum:

1) get DVD Decrypter, get toxics patch
2) make an iso of the game using DVD Decrypter (iso -> read mode)
3) patch the iso with toxics patcher
(4) change the book type to dvd-rom. this may not be necessary as people have reported success with the book type set to DVD+R DL, but to do it, right click on your dvd writer in DVD Decrypter and select 'Change Book Type', click the tab for the manufacturer of your writer, under 'Change For' select 'For DVD+R DL media' and under 'New Setting' select 'DVD-ROM' then click ok)
5) burn the image to disk (iso -> write mode)

Will above work for God of War too?
How do I find out what chip I have in my Silver PS2? I bought it from Bangkok and so far has played all burnt PS2 games. Very happy with it.

I've been reading for about 2 hours and noticed alot of ppl are interested in using SL dvd's, but $10 for a DL dvd isnt that bad, as long as it works hey guys!!!

My file iso file for God of War is "7.46 GB (8,018,624,512 bytes)" under properties of the iso and shows "7,830,688" in Explorer. Is this ok.

Remember LIFE IS SHORT!

Your help is much appreciated..

GUESS WHAT IT WORKED :)

Sh*t cant believe it, I got God of War to work :) woot
Bought a $10 DL Verbatin DVD and burnt it using the patch!
Man its an awesome game!
Thanks to SONIX :) Donations coming your way dude!!!

Hi everybody!
I've just downloaded from bittorrent a version of God Of War Pal, whose size is about 3,98 Gb (same file as Mizc). When I use the Swap Magic, the game stops at the first screenshot (I'm Italian so maybe sometimes my English is not appropriate). What can I do to make it work? Can anybody help me? Please...

TO EVERYONE STRUGGLING TO GET GOD OF WAR ONTO A DVD5
The guide at the first page of this forum definitely works!

It took me a little while to get it to work but that was because I was missing some .dll files from my system32 directory due to trojans and spyware and all that jazz...

For me I got the SCEE (Europe) God of War disk and the file sizes and "SCEE_xxxx" file name is different. Do not worry about that!

I got the same 16 bit error message with cddvdgen, there are missing .dll files from your system32 directory. Google it to file the missing files that you need.

The basic steps are:

> extract iso with DVD Decrypter (sad to see it go!)
> use Apache2 to extract
> use SONIX tool to extract/rebuild blah blah
> cddvdgen to rebuild the .iml file and whatever else it does
> use Apache2 to build the final iso
> use Nero or similar application to burn your GOW iso

My disk definitely works!
There are some occasions where the loading is slow but nothing major.

Be patient and thanks to SONIX!

Sting.ray: any idea what I might google to find the missing files? There are tons of dll's out there.
