The resolution has to be 1920x1080p and has to be burned using UDF 2.50.

exactly...
Resolution: 1920x1080, H.264, AC3 5.1
THE ONLY WAY TO SEE THAT ON PS3 IS TO CONVERT THE FILE BY MKV2VOB.
I test it last night but
i want to remux it with tsmuxer as bd author.

Ok, this worked for me so try this: -
- Change your movie to M2TS.
- Then create a Blu-ray disc (AVCHD) using your new M2TS file.
- Don't forget to change 5.1 to 4.1.
This worked for me...first AVCHD that actually worked on my PS3 lol. Burn it using ImgBurn. Good luck! :)

well.
1. i will change my movie to m2ts by tsmuxer (with or without subtitles?)
2.then i will put the m2ts file to tsmuxer again and i will create a blu-ray disc (AVCHD) with my subtitles.
I think i did it 2 days before and still no picture on ps3!
Thanks a lot i will make it again tonight!
Is impossible be something else wrong with the h264 movie?
is there another way to test?

your video needs to be recoded if you aren't getting any picture, put it through either megui (for quality) or mkv2vob (for simplicity/speed) and the mux to blu ray with subtitles using tsmuxer, i have done this (both ways) with many movie with 100% success.

What would be the quickest way to resize a 720p mkv file that is 1280 x 528 to 1280 x 720. So i could burn it as a bd5 disk.

to make the video 1280x720 you need to recode it using megui and use the 'AddBorders' command to add letterboxing, because you need to recode the video to do this it's not quick. you could use a 'fast' profile and just do one pass but the quality might suffer. If you don't need chapters or subtitles then for speed just mux to m2ts and burn that to dvd, you don't need to resize m2ts videos.

I've burned it twice after using tsmuxer to make a bdmv file the first one has 23.96 fps and the video was fine but the audio was not in sync with the video so i changed it to 25 fps because mediainfo told me thats what it was originally but then the video or audio wouldn't play in the PS3 but i played the stream on my computer and they both worked fine. How can i get it to burn right so i can watch it on my PS3?
I never got an answer from anyone on my problem does anybody know how to fix the problem i'm having with this movie.

hi all , I tried to play bluray output by using tsmuxer on my external hdd (and CERTIFICATE in a folder named AVCHD) and its work
but i have green borders and the subtittle doesnt work because its not 1280 x 720 i must recode i konw that
i tried also using megui but its complicated
my questions about recode
1 can i use another applications to recode 1280 x 544 to 1280 x 720 and adding subtittle?
2 when i recode can i remove the borders ( not adding black borders in movies to see it in full mode with out borders?
3 any one have tutorials to know the steps for applications?
Any idea?

First, a few questions for you.
1. You put the FOLDER onto an external drive? What you should be doing with that is burning it onto a disc. That might be the reason why you're getting borders and no subs.
2. I'm guessing those green borders are on the top and bottom of the video? (Since you say your video is 1280x544, I'm assuming it's in that "other" widescreen aspect?)
3. What resolution is your TV? 1080p, 720i, etc.
Anyway, onto your questions.
1. I don't know of any, sorry. I'm sure there are; I'm just rather new to this, so MeGUI's all I've been using. VirtualDub might be able to.
However, using AviSynth and MeGUI, you could easily turn it into a 1280 x 720 frame with subtitles.
What video format are you using? Avi, 264/h264, etc.
What subtitle format are you using? Srt, ssa, sub, etc.
2. Where are the borders? Again, I'm assuming they're on the top and bottom, but I could be wrong.
3. Which applications?
----
Well, since it seems like you're already using MeGUI, here's an example script for both resizing and hardsubbing (if that's what you meant by recode and add subs).
AviSource("C:/...path.../file.avi")
AddBorders(0, 88, 0, 88)
LoadPlugin("C:/...path.../vsfilter.dll")
TextSub("C:/...path.../subtitle.ass")
What this does is a) adds borders on the top and bottom to make it 1280 x 720 and b) hardsub the subtitles into the video.
But it doesn't seem like it's an encoding issue. If you burned it onto a DVD or so, it should show up on your TV just fine.

Actually, I had a question myself. Uh, Ryu (or whoever), remember how I asked about the Append feature way back when?
Well, I should mention now that I've got to put subtitles on, as well.
I've got a few questions regarding them, though.
1. They're in .ass format, so if I convert them to .srt using Subtitle Workshop or whatever, they'll lose their specialties (fonts, colors, etc.). Is there a way to avoid that besides hardsubbing?
2. Once I've gotten them converted (to whatever format), how do I go about muxing them in? I get this feeling that tsMuxer'll treat each one as separate subtitle streams, so they'll all just be working for... the first episode I append. Am I going to have to retime ALL of the subs?
3. I know that you can go from .srt to .sup using some program (I forgot which), but can you possibly go straight from .ass to .sup?
Thanks for the help, all.

Hello all!
I'm new in this forum. All the way from Denmark ;o)
I have read a little bit in this thread and it have been a big help!
But there is something i want to know .. :)
When i'm converting my .mkv files to .vob with mkv2vob, then the DTS soundtrack is converted to AC3.
I really want to keep the DTS sound, because i want to burn the video to a DVD9 disc, and therefor, it should be possible to keep the DTS soundtrack, right?
But how do i do that?
I know that mkv2vob converts the DTS to AC3 because the lag of DTS compatability when you are streaming the file from your PC to the PS3.
I have also played around with TsMuxer, but here i can convert to .m2ts which not supports DTS?
And when i convert directly to a BluRay disc, the sound is fine (DTS) but i now have a green border a the buttom, when i try the movie in the PS3.
I hope some of you guys can help me!
Thanks!

If your Matroska (mkv) file contains a video stream with a non standard resolution (ie: 1280 x 720 or 1920 x 1080) then your only option is to either
1) Re-encode the audio from DTS to AC3 and re-mux to m2ts via tsMuxeR. Or...
2) Re-encode the video to 1280 x 720/1920 x 1080, this way you can keep DTS audio but you must output Blu-ray folder structure and burn to a disc.
The reason that you got the green bars is because you have instructed tsMuxeR to output Blu-ray with a non compliant video stream thus creating an erroneous result. When attempting to play this, the PS3/Blu-ray player assumes that the video has all the standard lines of resolution and the green bars are there to fill in the missing lines.

Thank you for your fast reply! :o)
Will try that, and yes, the .mkv file is a non standard compliant resolution.

Wait, isn't 1280x720 and 1920x1080 standard resolution. I thought 1280x580 and that sort wasn't standard Ryu?

Which is why I said to re-encode to one of those two resolutions. If you read the progression of the thread, you will see that I got confirmation from Coolsmart that his video file was not a resolution compliant to the Blu-ray standard.

Ok, gotcha! Oh, and there is a problem I was wondering you could help me with in the "Mpeg 2ts (1080x1920) Without sound!" thread Ryu. I'd really appreciate it. :D

I'm having a audio problem with mkv2vob 5.1 keeps dropping out. It seems like it keeps going from 5.1 to stereo back and forth. Between this and hurricane Ike if I had hair I'd be pulling it out.
