hi, jdawg1979
i read trough all the 7 pages and i didn't find anything helpful
becoz when u make your back up u get ur ISO file from ur originel copy but i don't have the origenal copy
hence i can't produce an ISO file
(open dvd decryptor then go to MODE>ISO>READ and then it will copy the game AND MAKE AN ISO FILE ON UR PC HDD)

I have made many copies before and I never had trouble but for some reason I can not get my FIFA 2005 copy to work! Can anybody give me a clue? Is there any difference in how to burn an EA Game from the other games?
Thanks!

Hi all,
I have had no problems with backing up my PS2 games until now. I am trying to back up 'Top Gear - Daredevil' and the message I keep getting in DVD Decrypter is: "Disc Not DVD". In this case would I just do a straight copy of the game using Nero onto a blank CD-R? Or am I way off the mark... :)
Cheers

fesh,
If you dont have the original then what do you have? I guess fesh I am not sure about you situation or I just dont know. If you have a copy of a backup then you would just do a straight copy. All I use is Nero and DVD Decrypter so I can really tell you about anything else. Like you said I do the IO read, which saves it to the HD and then I go to the folder that I created with the files that DVD Dec made and then I choose ISO>Write, select the files and then choose the button at the bottom. That is all I do. I do this on DVD's like you are talking about. I use Nero 6 ultra edition. Man, I dont know what else to say unless you are more specific. Then, I still might not be able to help you if you are doing something differet. Peace!!!!!!

<H3> <font color=blue> Hi, I am from Hong Kong and there are many different kinds of DVD-R in local market. I have tested few of them,
namely, eblue (hard servies, ID SKC), SOHOT (ID PRODICSCO3), Imation i-pro (ID OPTODISCR004), Imation DVR-RW (ID OPTODISCW002).
I only find the SOHOT (ID PRODICSCO3) to be more reliable to burn PS2 disic.
What kind of DVD-R do u use to backup PS2 ?

How would you make a copy of a game like Champions of Norrath? Its 7.75 GB when you get it into an iso file. If I chose the option for DVD Decrypter to split the image at around 4.6 GB, would that successfully make it playable as a 2 DVD disk game? Or would I need a certain method to get that done?

No. I have proved some DVD-R are not capable to burn PS2. this kind of tests were also done in one of our big local computer magazine.

jdawg1979,
I get the ps2 games from torrent sites
like i told u yesterday.
i get 2 folders and 3 files everytime i download a game
the file SpeedDial is around 58 bytes the .CVM file is the main file its 1.20 Gig. "depends on the size of the game"
the 2 folders are Module & drivers.
Everything together is 1.21Gig
i always find those folder & file when i download games more then 850mb.
i can't be more specific then that
thx anyways.

hello all,
i just registered today, but i have been reading these forums and learning up on the ps2 backup methods for the past week or two now, while waiting for my swapmagic/fliptop combo to come.
i now have swap magic CD and DVD versions 3.3, and the fliptop successfully installed.
unfortunately, i cannot seem to get any games that i burn to run! here are my specs and stuff:
swap magic 3.3/fliptop
version 7 ps2
Sony DVD+RW DRU-120A (it's really old)
Maxell DVD+R 4x discs
to burn, i've used both the DVD Decrypter method mentioned in this post, as well as the Alcohol 120% method in this post http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1/121556
i've wasted about 5 DVD+R's only to have the swap magic proclaim to me that they are not valid ps2 discs.
i'm not sure of the quality of maxell discs... should i go out and buy some better media? i havn't tried DVD-R at all because my burner only does DVD+R, but i've burned DVD movies on DVD+R and my ps2 can read them fine, plus it's a freakin v7. do i need to go buy a better burner to make a viable backup?
any help would be appreciated - thanks.

Hey I have a problem. I just got a new benq 1620 dvd drive. I am trying to burn some ISO game files I have. When I go to burn the ISO file of the game in Alcohol 120%, I have no burner to choose, and I cannot even burn. But if i select say a regular file mp3 or something, i have the option to burn.
Any idea? I need help, thanks guys

you need to download dvd loader, there are various methods,of using it,depends on what game i.e ea methods etc.search around for instructions,i am not too sure how to use it.i think you boot up swap dvd, take out, boot up dvd loader, enter option on sub menu, eject dvd loader, back in with swap dvd, then backup disc.

I dont understand. Like all I have to do is burn the image files onto the DVD, but it is not giving me the option to select a burner when i go to the image burning wizard. But If i choose say a bin and cue file, from other downloads, it displays them no problem and i can burn.
