Yes I heard something about having to tilt it to get the disc scratched, did microsoft warn pple about that in the manual? I am not sure cos i don't have one but it is what I heard. If thats the case just make sure you don't tilt it whilst it is running.

But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

why the hell would you have 2 models? issnt one good enuf? most ppl have old xbox games. why get a core? i mean if u have an old xbox sure but on a 360 the old games look much more nice.

one is backwards compatable and the other not right? im tired of ppl going "omg the 360 is 300 dollars and the ps3 is gunna be 400 so im not getting it." sony has to realize if they come out underequiped then ittl mean a fatal blow to there console because panzees think if its pricey and you dont get free things its not worth it. look at the psp and the ds. who sont more? whos more expensive?
and im from the usa

dont know bout the backwards compatibility thing, i think i heard someone say that you have to have the hard drive for some old xbox games to play on the 360, and connect it to live as it downloads emulators to play the game, but all new games should be fine. Dont see the point of the core system as it has nothing its like the ps2 when it was released, you have to get the hard drive or memory card straight away to save progress.
the psp wins hands down, its got so much more going on, but the japanese love the DS just because they love that sort of two screen pen thing. just like the new nintendo revolutions controller weird, but in japan its a winner.

Lets try and clear up this core disscusion thats going on.
I thought of it as stupid for Microsoft to release the core system on launch. The people that will be buying the console at launch are hardcore gamers. Therefore Microsoft should have released just the premium package.
Microsoft should then have released the core package 6 months to a year down the line. It is quite a good idea if you consider parents with thier children who ask for the new game console and want to play all the new games. Children dont really care for a hardrive or the other bits they just want to put in thier new game and play. The core package is also very good for the very casual gamer where they go to work, uni or school then come home and just want to play a quick game of PDZ or PGR3, etc.
Now we dont know the price of the PS3 yet but from whats been going around it will be the same price or more expensive than the 360 premium package. With this PS3 package I presume Sony will do the same as all thier other console's and release a core system pack which will contain the PS3, controler and demo. However for the same price or slightly cheaper you can get the premium 360 pack with 20gb hardrive, head set, DVD remote and wireless controler. OR for an even cheaper price you can get the system with the same things as what the PS3 will most likely be packaged with which is just a controler and demo.
I think it makes sense and is quite a good idea with these two package systems from Microsoft. What I dont think is a good idea was releasing both packages at launch becuase everyone wants the Premium package.
In answer to a question asked, I am from England but have been living in Australia for the past few months and plan on staying here for good which means I have to wait until the 2nd of March if I want a 360 or even longer for the PS3.
Off the subject here but anubis have you checked out that video footage yet of Gears of War and Mass Effect I gave you the links to on the other thread?

have listened to the link on the reply before about the 360 needing multiple disks for games. i just wanted to know whether microsoft will probably bring out larger harddrives for the 360 which sections of the games will be loaded onto and accessed when needed by the game. half life 2 already does this on the normal xbox. there must be a use for this as i have had many games which are all still on my hard drive, and still it says 50000+ blocks left!!.

maybe the drive you have is corrupt. it comes with 50000 so i cant see why it still says more
even if they allow uploading to the hd that will piss some people off. to me, multiple disks or loading is a pain that i should not have to suffer. i dont wanna go out and buy a better harddrive for a 360 because the one it comes with will fill up after 3 games. for now, multiple disks are not out. but by a year either the 360 games will have NO extra fetures, levels, music, weapons, skins modles, cars, etc. because of the lack of room.

quote from Gramhn or something thing that from the other forum.
Quote: When Microsoft first announced that they were going to stick with DVD for their next-gen console, I didn't think it was that big-a-deal. However, now that it's out, and looking back at the PS2, I'm not so sure. When PS2 launched, most first-generation games shipped on CD, and even today the odd one still does. However, over time more and more shipped on DVD, but 99.9% of those are nowhere near to topping out DVD. It is clear, therefore, that DVD was the perfect choice for PS2.
Now the Xbox 360 has launched, we can see that the inital batch of games is already pushing the capacity limits, as most of the game dumps are around 7 or 8 Gb. Now, how much of that data is real vs dummy I'm not sure, but it doesn't look too promising, especially with EA saying that their (cut-down games!) are already averaging 18Gb of data per game before compression.
Regardless of whatever format wins the next-gen DVD format war, SONY saw that they needed much more capacity in the future. Maybe not immediately, but it won't take developers long to start utilising all that space, and let's face it, even 50Gb isn't a lot these days - not in the overall scheme of things. At least by going with Blu-ray, SONY haven't given people ammunition to say they haven't got enough capacity.
he's right

I agree with what gramhn says except for the bid deal part. Of course any1 would rather have more disc space than less, but is having less disc space a big deal? Two of my favourite games are baldurs gate 1 and 2, excellent games but a lot of discs, a total of five but it still didn't stop baldurs gate being an excellent game or stop me from buying it. 360 games will have 2 or 3 discs max, but who can say that if a gr8 game comes out they won't be buying it if its on more than one disc? Thats absurd, changing discs isn't a big deal its fairly minor, so what if you have to change disc a few hours into the game. Another example is final fantasy, alot of discs there but did that truly bother any1 and stop it from being a gr8 game? The answer is no, you cannot crucify 360 based purely on disc space.

see a problem with multiple disks is if one gets too effed up, none matter anymore. you have 3x the chance of losing your game. and that many cds..what about ppl who put all their disks into a multi-cd case. it would fill up fast. many disks will turn off a lot of users.

You guys still dont get the disk issues. TEXTRURES and DETAILS. Yes, you can have more disks, but it wont effect it texture wize. More disks doesnt mean more detailed textures. One disk cant be dedicated to only textures with detail. Which means that the texture reduction and details will final, and more disks cant fix that.
Detailed textures take up more space than non detailed textures. Ps3 having the detailed ones, 360 having the detailed(but not as detailed.) One disadvantage for the 360.

You have a point with
Quote: if one gets too effed up, none matter anymore.
But if you were careless with your discs then its likely that most of your game collection has effed up discs regardless of how many discs you have. What can I say, just look after your stuff. I disagree with the fact that it will turn of many users, Like i have shown in my previous post, baldurs gate, final fantasy are both popular games and both have a lot of discs, theres no evidence of multiple discs turning away users.
