woogirl, i dont exactly know what u would have to do to find out what type of router u have. but if u still having problems with the light being yellow all the time i would strongly suggest u do a check on the ports u have set up on ur BT client (bittornado, Azureus, whatever) to see if these ports are open to connections. to run this check do this:
-go to this link https://grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2
-click on "Proceed"
-on the blue box titled "ShieldsUp!! Services"
type the first port of the range that u have set-up on ur BT client. then click on "User Specified Custom Port Probe".
-scroll down to the Port Table there, if the STATUS column say "CLOSED" or "OPEN" then you are good to go. that means that the port is open to connections. if it says "STEALTH" it means that the port is being blocked. u have to forward it.
NOTE: u can also type-in a whole range instead of just typing a single port at a time e.g. "6881-6889" (wihtout quotes). the range u type in cannot be too long, only 10 units long i think.
Do this for all the ports u have setup on ur client. Usually the first port in the range is the only one that it uses.
and btw i dont know why tornado now suggests using random ports, i still use the classic 6881-6999 and it works
u can also run this nat check. NAT is another type of security like a firewall.
http://www.u.arizona.edu/~trw/games/nat_or_not.php -look at the gray window, the forth line from the top should say something like "It would appear that your machine does use NAT", or not.
use BitTornado, if dont have it already.
download Bittorrent Download Accelerator Pro. before u do so, MAKE SURE u have a spyware remover tool handy. and do all of tredari's configuration suggestions: on the accelerator, set the "find more sources" to 3 minutes; on tornado select "dsl/cable slow" from the drop down thingy on the lower left; find ur sweetspot on the "max upload" bar.
bmaniac, u are getting ur green light i dont know how else u can make ur dls faster other than giving Bittorrent download accelerator pro a try. set the congfiguration like i mentioned above and for tornado, select ur connection on the drop down thingy and set the "max upload" bar in different places until u see the dl speed go up. sometimes the sweepspot is a low number.
i dont think this accelerator works for Azureus cuz i tried it with bitlord and it didnt work. but i can be wrong, u can try it if u want.

I need your help in configuring Azereus:
I have a cable 640kbps/128Kbps connection and also have Java and Azureus installed with the following conf:
Incoming TCP listen port = 55301
Max global upload speed=5KB/s
Max global download speed=unlimited
Max upload slots per torrent=5
Max connections per torrent=50
Max connections globally=500
UDP tracker client protocol NOT ENABLE
UPnP NOT ENABLE
Autospeed ENABLE
Tracker on HTTP port NOT ENABLE
Tracker on HTTPS port NOT ENABLE
Max simultaneous downloads=2
Max active torrents=3
On my Linksys Wireless B Broadband Router BEFW11S4 v4, I forwarded the port 55301 TCP to Internal IP address 192.168.1.72 (The IP of the Intel Pro/100 VE Network Adapter connected to the router)
My Windows XPsp2 Firewall is ON, with the following exceptions:
Azureus.exe
Javaw.exe
Azureus TCP port 55301
With this configurations I can get 1.5-2 Kb/s download speed and 12-15 Kb/s upload speed. What may be wrong? Several guys get 125 Kb/s download speed, and more.
Can someone help?
Tks

Okay, I'm getting horrid download speeds with azureus 0-10 kB but people are uploading from me anwhere from 20-70 Kbps, I have my computer DMZ'd so ports shouln't be a problem, and i have the an ass load of ports forwarded anyway. Can someone help me out? im connected to 45(115)seeds and 15(260)clients. there are people that are uploading from me @ 20K and not letting me dl anything, is there a way to fix this?
EDIT: I went to this site https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2 and did a search on my ports, and 6881-6889 were "stealth" and there was no way i could change that, so i looked for a port that the site said was "open" and i switched the incoming TCP listen port to that, then my dls increased from 0-10kBps to 30-60 kbps

Acasey... it's normal for people to upload from you at those rates.. Not to sound like a broken record, but the only reccomendation i can give you is the bittorrent accelerator pro. there is a link on the bottom of page 7 of this forum. Make sure you scan it for adware as soon as you get it. Configure the accelerator and bittornado as discussed by me and redscorpi in pages 8, 9, and 10 of this forum, GOOD LUCK!
with the accelerator and with torrents of 10+ seeds you should be able to reach at least 100kBs!

i started downloadin a game on bittorent about 3 weeks ago i had horrible speed so i looked for a way to make it better and i fond this site, after doing everything it said i got my speed up from 0-5 yellow to 17-21 green. after i downloaded the game i stoped using bittorrent cuz i thought to myself 'if my best is at 21 kb/s then i dont want to use bittorent'. now 2 days ago a friend of mine came over and fixed my computer now i have a download speed of up to 20 with yellow, so i tryed to change it to green but when i went to foward my ports, when i tryed to get into my linksys router configeration, when it asked for a password i put in the random password (the same on that worked for me just 2 weeks ago) and it said that the paasword was not currect... now i didnt chang the password and beside me no one touches this computer.
so what could have happend? how can i change the password back? i really need help here.
also is there anyway to foward ports in a diffrent way?

I had problems with ABC and BitTorrent. If your downloads are going slower than they should, there is a reason. I have a BT 1250 router with a 1Mb/s connection, and my downloads were going at 10kB/s average. So I opened ports 6881-6999 on my routers firewall, and turned off my windows XP firewall. All downloads are green. And now my downloads are averaging 105kB/s which is as fast as I would expect.

goku225, I believe your only chance is to reset your router. Of course, you will loose all configurations you have done, meanwhile, in the router.
Best of the luck.

At last, it seems this thing is performing better, however I still have 3 doubts:
1 - If I forward the Azureus's Incoming TCP listen port in my Linksys BEFW11S4 Wireless Broadband Router, should I also trigger it?
2 - If I enable UPnP in Azureus (Tools/Options/Plugins/UPnP),should I enable it in the Router?
3 - If I enable UDP tracker client protocol in Azureus (Tools/Options/Tracker/Client) and (Tools/Options/Tracker/Server), do I have to forward any port in the Router, and which port? And what about triggering that very port
Hope someone may enlighten me.
Regards and the best of luck to you all.

Hi people,
As you can see, i'm new to Afterdawn. I registered only to ask you a question after reading all 10 pages of this thread and trying a lot of stuff suggested here.
I'm also having NAT problems with Azureus. All the faces stay yellow. First of all I must say everything worked fine till a few weeks ago (green faces).
I'm in a LAN with my dad via a Realtek Network Card. My father uses an Alcatel Speedtouch USB modem (just USB, no typenumber to be found) which is an ADSL-connection.
He bought the computer secondhand, i connected the cable, opened some ports (first i used NIS, after that i switched to the SP2 firewall and let azureus operate without being blocked), and everything worked like a charm (green :)).
Now, here's the deal: my dad's xp had problems and wouldn't defrag anymore (last owner's fault), so i had to do a fresh install (not a total n00b with PC's). After that i dl'ed all the updates for xp and NIS.
Here's the deal, ever since that clean install of my fathers PC, my faces won't turn green. Everything was the way it was and I don't seem to get it to work. It's driving me mad. I have a shitty downlaod of 25 max, while it used to be around 150...
Can anybody help me PLEASE...?
Port of Azureus is 50500 (opened on my pc and my dad's).
Thank you in advance and sorry it's such a long post, but i wanted it explained properly...

Now i can't even break 40kBps..WTF??? I'm using bittornado with the accelerator just exactly the way i suggested to you all. Now the shit is geekin' out pissing me off!!!!!!!!
I tried uninstalling the whole mess and then reinstalling it. No luck. i haven't changed a thing.
And I'm using active torrents with 20+ seeds. Any suggestions????
Edit: also the damn thing keeps locking up, everything just freezes and i have to close it and reopen it all the time!! WTF??
