dawg, same shit happened to me. i did get up to 150kbs on one torrent the first time i tried it. but lately it wasn't even going 30kbs. even with the same suggested configurations. i also found out that every time i open the accelerator i get a QuickSearch bar on my internet browser.
my guess is that in order for the accelerator to work u need to keep all the spyware that came with the accelerator and not remove it from ur system, because im guessing that's what makes the program work. i dont know.
i actually unistalled the accelerator and tornado two days ago, cuz it wasnt working and i dont want to deal with the spyware.

Is there a way to connect to a different tracker. I'm thinking that some trackers may be faster than others?

well there is only one tracker per torrent, isnt there?! so im thinking the only way u could connect to a different tracker is by downloading a different torrent for the same file subject u want.

Bmaniac.. 290 kBps!!!!!!
How the hell did you get those speeds?
U can change the max on the upload rate and how many uploads on most torrent clients.. U can't change thost things on bittorent. It is automatic.
I reccomend BitTornado cuz it gives you those adjustment options and cuz it works w\the accelerator, But i've heard that bitlord is the best.
Redscorpi.. In BitTornado I often go to "details" cuz you can chose parts of the torrent not to d\load. For Example, I recently d\loaded Lunar 2 Eternal Blue and it came with some soundrack shit and "the making of" so i chose not to d\oad all that shit cuz all i wanted was the iso's... Anyway at the bottom of the "details" window it shows a likely tracker not a definate and Tier 0, Tier 1, Tier 2,and so on.
also on some torrents i have been refused by the tracker usually cuz it wasn't registered..
What do you make of that, and has any of that ever happened to you?

cool, didnt know u can take away stuff u dont want to download.
that has happened to be before. at least while using Azureus i could see messages left from the tracker saying that in other to download their stuff u needed to register with a specific website.

Yeah, sometimes it's good to choose not to d\load certain parts of a torrent that you don't need, it makes the d\load alot faster. ;)
Also you can set priority. For Example... I'm currently d\loading Final Fantasy 8. So instead of d\loading all 4 discs equally, i set the 1st disc to d\load first, that way I can get to playin'. Also it comes with an exe. file. But since the disks files are iso's and I have ePSXe (thanks red) I chose not to d\load the exe. All I want is the iso's

Heh some people here are actually complaining that there getting 10kbs but I'd be happy if I even got that.
I left it on all night & the highest speed I ever got was 2kbs, yeah that's right 2 FEEBLE LITTLE KBS!!!
I'm downloading the Anarchy Online client & there are 30 or more seeds & like 99 peers right now.
I'm using BitComet & I've already disabled my only Firewall (Windows Firewall).
I'm using AOL dial-up so I don't expect it to go like 100kbs or more like you DSL Guys but I know it's suppose to go faster than 2kbs (My normal downloads are faster than that without BitTorrent).

dont turn the max upload down too much. if ur max upload is too low or too high, ur download speed will go down. u have to find ur sweetspot. turn ur max upload up or down 1kb at a time. watch ur download speed for at least 30 seconds everytime u do this. until u find where u get the most download speed.

Yep.... My sweet spot was 29 kBps, Red said his was 19 kBps, and very often i go with the 19 cuz it's faster. I tend to switch back and forth, adjusting like red said above.. Sweet spots tend to vary.
Also Bmaniac I've noticed that some torrents can be more of a pain in the ass than others.
I think that's just the nature of em'.

Guys,
I am experiencing hopeless download speeds. Never ever the d/load speed is beyond 20kb/s. I have yahooBB 8MBps modem connection at my home. My OS is windows XP and disabled the firewall setup. Please suggest me for better downloads. All my friends are getting good d/load speeds.
Thanks!!!

Yep I'm in the same boat. There are so many of us. I have used any advice I could get and it's still slow.
I have recently got 1024/256 broadband from Tiscali uk. I installed the latest Azureus and was downloading at speeds of up to 100k/s. Then out of the blue my speeds decreased to around 2-6k/s. To begin with I hadn't enabled the port forwarding on my router. I also ran a tweak test from www.dslreports.com and ran DrTCP on my system to give me optimum broadband setting and used the recommended TCP port. I enabled this port on my router thinking it would solve the problem. I tested this port on Azureus and it was fine. But after 12 hours the download speeds were still 3kB/s even though there 21 seeds and 54 peers. I've disabled windows firewall and that hasn't helped. I've changed ports but to no avail. dslreports my download speed at around 750kb/s.
I just cannot understand how when I didn't have a clue about the tweaking and the port forwarding I was getting massive download speeds and now I'm getting in comparison very slow rates even though I've followed all the advice in this forum. Can anyone give me any reason why this has happened. To test my connection I downloaded a dj set from a website at 50Kb/s so my connection is pretty good. Is this something to do with my ISP somehow restricting my download bandwidth? I'm just a little frustrated!

Tiscali are to blame for my p2p being slow. They have implemented new technology which caps the download speed to around 5kB/s. Also they've actually changed their Terms and conditions from the original (without warning) so that there isn't an unlimited broadband anymore. They will cap you at 30Gb a month. And I'm paying a 12 month subscription for the pleasure

Ive recently upgraded to Tiscali 1mb BB and was getting great speeds for a day now can get no more than 5kb, I believe this is a capping issue at there end so had great pleasure in sacking Tiscali and goin with a REAL company, has any one had same issues with Tiscali ?

I'm sure you won't believe this, but my comp has comcast and i've got bit comit on here. This thing has downloaded 1.2% in about 3 hrs. I can't figure it out. Is it because I use mozilla FireFox? The firewall is off and everything...

Hi,
I have a sweex router and i've doen some typing in virtual server. (Typed the ports 6881 - 6889). My router ip address is 192.168.2.1
But when I check if I opened the ports, they are all STEALTH.
How can I change this? Do I need a trigger port? Then, what is that port?
tnx:)

ackilles;
The accelerator pro doesn't work w\bitlord it only slows it down......if your going to use bitlord, then use azureus as a d\load manager
The accelerator pro works best w\bittornado, but it also works w\bittorrent
I personally reccoment the accelerator w\bittornado
I've posted on pages 8-11 of this thread on how to configure bittornado and the accelerator to work together.... I usually see 80kBps-150kBps (depending on the popularity of the torrent)
KingFlute; it's probably because your using bitcomet
