somethings weird with a movie i put on my PSP, i know how to do it because ive done it before but this time its not working. i made the MP_ROOT folder and then the 100MNV01 inside it. then i used xilisoft psp video converter to converter my AVI file to psp and then there was the mp4 and thm files. then i renamed them to M4V12345.mp4 and M4V12345.thm. but whenever i try to play it, the psp goes 'this video cannot be played. the data type is not compatible" does anyone know what might be wrong?

Just use psp video. And i have no clue wut's wrong. Because if psp video doesn't work with your AVI file you may need to download AVI synth and if that doesn't work some AVI files can be corrupted but i have no idea wut's wrong.

Would it be possible you where trying to run a H264/AVC encoded movie on your 1.50? You have to emulate the higher firmwares to run this codec.
(Well you do for the PSP specfic movies, not PMP movies)

A codec is a device or program capable of performing encoding and decoding on a digital data stream or signal. The word "codec" is a portmanteau of any of the following: 'Compressor-Decompressor', 'Coder-Decoder', or 'Compression/Decompression algorithm'.
Codec's can simply be looked upon as Plug-in's to a system to allow interpretation (and in the case of video, playback and recording), of a type of file that the operating system cannot recognise. For example, mov files cannot be viewed without the Apple QuickTime software installed. Much the same if you download a movie trailer that has been encoded in MPEG4 format using the DivX ;-) codec, then you will need the same codec installed to watch the trailer.

Hi All,
Has anyone had problems with the Audio being to slow and the movie is out of sink?
I want to know how to fix this. My first in stink was to just us different video converting programs. But it still seems to happen. Sometime they work OK.. but not that good and sometime there is like a good 4 seconds delay in the audio. Now this is a new PSP will firmware 2.50 so I already have the ***** with it and not been able to play homebrews but this audio is driving me up the wall.
Can someone please advise. Programs used so far cloneDVDmobile, PSPconvertor and a couple of others.

You could just downgrade it to 1.50, most of the "pay for software" is crap, get either PSPvideo9 or MeGUI and use them to convert your movies.

Simple but otherwise crap software, visual quality is nowhere near half as good as X264 and MeGUI, believe me guys when i say this, you try and get the hang of MeGUI, you,ll never go back. AVI Synth Script is a powerful tool, but if you want to stick with ghosting, high framerates and halos, go ahead and use psp movie creator and create the worse movies you could for your PSP.

I suppose it is easy for me to say that, but it didnt take me long to get a hold of the software.
But i do try and encourage people to try MeGUI, for there own good.
I was abit late with software when i started encoding and compared to the videos i have now, i just deleted them and encoded again.
MeGUI is good for firmwares 2.70 and higher and for people on 2.01 to 2.60 who dont want to downgrade.
I dont use it myself now as am encoding to 480x272 res PMP, which only play on 1.50, so until Sony unlocks higher res on their native player, i wont be upgraded anytime soon. ;)
