its just a plus side. the main reason is costs. the ps3 is better, but at a price. about summer or fall is when we will see a release due to price depletion.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

Anubis I don't think the price would have depleted by a great deal in a matter of months, you have to remember technology such as blue ray isn't out yet so It isn't really going to go down all that much. Additionaly if they are doing a revision of the console then don't you think they may have mentioned it? I haven't heard a peep, thats why I think it is much more likely that they just haven't anything much newer to show unfortunatly.

production cost of bluray are barelt more than dvds. but the problem is the amount of manufacturers. as soon as this number increases, then it will get cheaper whenever.

Blue ray will get cheaper if it takes off as the new media source. So the question is will a cheap HD-DVD with less space beat a expensive blue ray with more space.
What ever the case is iam not to bothered because I will jus wait and see then buy the appropriate add on for the 360 if I get one or for the PS3.

Well, i think we can assume that the HD-HD will cost more than the 40gb HD for 360(is it 40gb or 20?) W.e , but you can make some predictions there.

haha did i not say it was a war to come? ms is struggling to catch up to sonys disposition. i hope if bluray take of that sony denies ms the bluray, cuz m$ would be pwnd and the xbox would suffer dramatically.

I am 99% possitive that I cant see Sony denieing the blue ray to Microsoft, like itunes to windows.
Blue ray is Sonys format and being a greedy company like Microsoft they will let Microsoft spend huge amounts of money to pay them off to use their technology. Not only this but the actual media of Blue ray being purchased by anyone will mean Sony gets some of that money, so Sony would want as many people to have blue ray devises as possible.
This would also be even more likely as the 360 would not be able to out do the PS3 as it would only use the blue ray for movies and not games.

i personally think M$ took a stand the other week when they came out and said if they so choose they could adapt to blu ray and sell a blu ray player add on for the 360. i think their stand is nothing more than a bluff to somewhat silence some critics and make the 360 seem as if anything is possible (not saying it isnt). some things to think about, i think if they ever did have a BD add on its not gonna happen for years. if/when they do have the add on it would have to be so competivetly priced against the ps3... that as of date the BD players i've seen/heard about retail for at/over $1000. the ps3 is expected to retail around the $500 range giver take..so what does this mean..M$ would have to have available some player add on that would have to retail less than the price of the PS3 and lets face it, if this does happen and it is years down the road im sure the PS3 will have dropped some $$ amount so for M$ to pay the amount of money to have some company develop and sell some add on would in my mind be a major blow to M$, also keeping in mind that all their investments in HD-DVD would have been an utterfailure if this route turns to reality, because it would mean Blue Ray out did HD-DVD. its nothing more than a strategy move by M$ to reassure xbox and future xbox owners that their 360 is more than capable of matching the ps3...but its all speculation so..sit back and wait for the fireworks

that was a bit hard to understand but i catch what you mean.
i think if sony didnt deny ms the bluray, then yes it would bring in lots of money and they could ridicule the 360 for being technically inept to need an addon for something it has and uses for gaming. but if they did not, HD-DVD dies, and ms loses support to developers for games because of the lack of sufficient space, the xbox will be gone and out. yes they will have the money to make a new one, but with all the falures, lack of games, expensive addons, and other things to follow, the xbox fanbase would be down to no one but die-hard fanboys. even if they made a new system people would not buy it because they no longer trust the xbox.

Here we go again. If the 360 will lose in sales it will not be becuase of DVD9.
I dont call 160 games in development a lack of games, esspesialy seeing as the PS3 has 170 in development.
Also addon's will not mean a failure for the console but the addon its self like Mega CD didnt mean the Megadrive failed but the Mega CD itself.

I don't believe a single person here is qualified to talk about any of the stuff they're backing...
How much space games will take up in the future,
Processor power, unified shader architecture RAM etc. etc.
I think at the end of the day, the games will look very similar, and the PS will sell by the bucketload as usual, and the Xbox360 sales will improve greatly on the original Xbox sales. Nintendo will stay at the bottom, selling in numbers in Japan (Why do they even sell them worldwide? LOL).
Everyone seems to be in the frame of mind that everyone will in the end go for one or the other. Most likely, the division that remains in this forum will remain worldwide even after PS3 release.
I personally have a 360 and will be getting a PS3. Why have a 3 core meal, when you can have a next-gen buffet?

PS3 Spec's and other FAQs according to PS2Land.com :
When will PS3 come out?
At the end of a promotional video played during the PlayStation 3 launch event, the words ?Spring 2006? were displayed on the screen ? thus implying the console will be released sometime during this period. When exactly, and to which countries, is currently unknown. The rumors, however, point to a worldwide launch in March 2006.
What features will it have?
All of the features it was expected to have, and more! We have put up the full list of technical specifications HERE so you can see a detailled list of everything. Arn't we nice?
How much will it cost?
Typically the last two generations of the PlayStation have been priced at around $300 at launch. Both have continuously decreased in price year on year into their life, its quite likely PS3 will do the same. It's not known how much it will cost but around $300 is probably a fair guess, as this is the maximum price most gamers would be willing to pay. There are some unexpected extra features, such as the 2 HDMI outputs and 3 Gigabit RJ45 LAN connections, that will likely drive the price tag up a fair amount!
Will PS3 play PS2 and PS1 games?
Yes! They will! Sony Computer Entertainment boss Ken Kutaragi has confirmed that the PlayStation 3 will feature backwards compatibility with the PS2 and PSone, ensuring continued support for older software formats in the new hardware. Later it was confirmed again at the Sony?s E3 conference that the PS3 will be fully backwards compatible with PS1 and PS2 games. There hasn?t been any confirmation though if the PS3 will make PS2 games look better when playing like the PS2 did with PS1 games.
What will PS3 look like?
The PS3 design was unveiled at Sony?s E3 conference. It has an ?outward feel? compared to the Xbox360?s ?inward feel?. The console is approximately 13.5 inches in length and 3.5 inches wide as reported by IGN. This in contrast to the PS2 design is much larger and is closer in size to the original Xbox in size. The console?s ?outward? design gives it a larger footprint for the console to stand vertically on its own without an add-on stand. The drive bay sits on the right side like the PS2 but instead of using a tray the discs slide into the drive much like a car CD player. Also the drive sits slightly back in the design giving the console a reminiscent look to the original Nintendo Entertainment System. Finally the console has the words ?Playstation3? across the side in a font that is very close to the font used in Sony Pictures? Spiderman movie.
How powerful will the PS3 be?
On paper, the PS3 is 2x more powerful than the Xbox 360 and 15x more powerful than the Nintendo Revolution is predicted to be. It has a processing capacity of 2.18 TFLOPS, which is put into context when you realise the FASTEST computers in existence can only do 36 Terraflops. It is said to be 35x more powerful than the PlayStation 2 is.
Will PS3 games be playable online?
Yes, at Sony?s E3 conference they confirmed that Sony will have an online service very comparable to Microsoft?s Xbox Live service.

are uncomfirmed as they are old.

I'm with you on that one Zelda. There aint no point dissing one of the consoles, if both are gonna be excellent. Buy both and let the fun commence.
OR
Buy one and not enjoy it because your being a crabbet b*stard about the other, and because everyone is pointing out flaws in yours.
