become a game designer, design a game for their console that THEY are impressed enough with that they 'endorse' the game, then they provide burnable bootable disks that are accounted for VERY efficiently. I've only seen one in 12 yrs of modding and it was a stolen one. word is you'd be more able to get gold from Ft Knox then one of these disks from Sony but you just might be lucky enough.......

poster child for birth control???
seams the public humiliation was enough, it carried over to pm questions now :)
i guess people just cant see that if it was that easy there would be no modchip/swap disk market out there and if you have the $$$ to buy the equipment to make a true 1-1 bootable disk you can more easily afford to buy all the games you'll ever want to play.

Yes. It'd be nice if people would at least trouble to search for the word "mod, modchip, or Swap Magic." At the very least read the stickies.. yeesh.

And recentilly like i said i got swap magic and ive started to try to burn ps2 dvd rom games to play with swap magic, well ive tried and ive try and i still get any of the games to work i done everything that everyones told me to do for getting good quality media( i use verbatim), to burning at low speed for quality, and just about everything else and i still load everything up right just as the swap magic instructions tell me to and nothing works i always get the red screen(not a valid ps2 disc insert valid ps2 disc). This is crap i really dont know what im doing wrong or not doin, can someone help me here my specs again:

On the last Swap, push the disc tray in as far as possible without resealing it. Then use the hook on the slide card to reseal it. The other possibility is the 16x Verb's, 16x media has very mixed results with PS2 backups.

No no... if he is getting the PS2 red screen for an invalid disc, then either he did not put Swap Magic in in the first place, or the system reset afterward as if you pushed eject.
That screen never comes up with SwapMagic when you switch a defective backup in, you will instead get a black screen and horrible noises coming from your PS2.
Swap Magic Instructions, written by me:
Turn on the PS2, push the eject button and insert the Swap Magic DVD Version disc. Push the eject button again to close the tray and after a moment the Swap Magic menu should appear.
Do not press any buttons on the PS2 at this time - get your slide card and with the little arm thing pointing to the right, stick it in under the left side of the tray (make sure it goes as far in as it should, when its properly inserted it will be sticking out parallel to the top of the PS2, not at a strange angle).
Drag the slide card to the right and you will hear and feel the tray eject slightly. Now pull the card toward you to get the tray to come out a ways until you can pull it the rest of the way yourself. Remove the slide card and take Swap Magic out and insert your backup. Now push the tray in again with your thumbs. Hold the top of the PS2 and push a little more even if you think its in already (on my PS2, i cant push it in the last little bit without holding the top of the unit for pressure).
Insert the slide card the same way you did before and drag it to the right again, it will get "stuck" at one point. Stop pushing so hard, but pull it right again and it should feel like it bounces over the place it got stuck. Once you feel that, drag it back to the left and you'll hear it electronically shut.
Now press X. Your game will either boot or your PS2 will go into hysterics because its a dodgy quality backup, but either way you won't get the red screen and SwapMagic will be working correctly.

Most likely it's the former. I'm not positive, but I believe I've heard of people getting the RSOD of death with Swap Magic while using crap media. I'd appreciate you not undermining my posts before he trys my suggestions.

Hmm... I wasn't trying to undermine you... I've just never heard of that happening before, but you've been at it longer than me so you'd have more knowledge on the issue I suppose.

You could be right. I'm 100% on that. I just thought I remembered instances where the RSOD was caused by crap media. Maybe not. Either way, he should ditch the 16x Verb's for some quality 4x or 8x media.

So, where can I get some of this awesome media from on the internet? Because I know nowhere near me sells it, and even if they did they would overcharge for it...
So it seems Taiyo is what everyone raves about? Where can I get these?
And what is the best media for burning CD PS2 games and CD PS1 games onto? Everyone talks about the best DVDs a lot, but no one says what the best media for burning PSX games is!

86. Q. Where can I find good deals on legit Taiyo Yuden's and Verbatim's?
A. http://www.supermediastore.com Great List of Merchants locally, online, in the U.K., etc:
http://www.digitalfaq.com/dvdguides/buyerguides/buymedia.htm
106. Q. Where can I find top notch Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim media locally?
A. This is somewhat of a crap shoot. Big manufacturer's like Fuji and Sony have at one point past or present payed Taiyo Yuden to manufacture media for them. The big companies slap their name on the label even though the discs were manufactured in Japan by Taiyo Yuden. These discs will always be made in Japan. Authentic TY media isn't made anywhere else. Even if it says Made in Japan on the label, there is no guarantee of getting authentic Taiyo Yuden media. You could still end up with Sony or Fuji media codes. Hence why I said this is a crap shoot. Places like Comp USA, Office Depot, Sam's Club, and Staples will carry Made In Japan branded discs. Again there is no way to know for sure from the package whether these are authentic Taiyo Yuden's. The exception is that Sony MIJ 8x DVD+R's will always code out as Yuden000T02. If you don't want to risk getting non TY discs, you can find 50 packs of Verbatim in the afore mentioned chain stores. One other alternative is the Made in Japan High Grade Maxell DVD+R's. They will say Made in Japan on the label and "High Grade" as well. These are excellent media. Remember when using DVD+R's, it's best you have a burner that supports booktyping/bitsetting, and a v.4 PS2 or later. Much thanks goes to kivory666 aka "docTY" for this information. He is indeed the Taiyo Yuden master. The best place to get authentic Taiyo Yuden media is from reputable online vendors like http://www.supermediastore.com http://www.rima.com http://www.meritline.com or http://www.newegg.com
