Ace_2 I would suggest instead of going for lightscribe go for an inkjet printer with a CD/DVD tray as these print out extremely good images without the need for sub standard lightscribe disks.
I would go for the Epson R220 (the one which I'v got, shown in the picture) as its cheap, very good quality prints (as you can see in the picture) and the inks dead cheap or you can opt for a continuous ink refill system.
The one I'v got I bought it on Ebay for £40 plus £10 postage.

Do you need some special CD/DVD format to print the labels, or can I just use any type of CD or DVD?

Nope in parts of England (ie where I live) you can only qualify for 2mb internet connection and not higher which I don't fancy sharing as I don't feel its fast enough for 2 computers downloading permanently so I'v opted to get a phone line installed in my room and get my own internet connection, I think its justified because the money I would of spent on a wireless router would of been the same price as getting a phone line installed into my room, and with my new job I can easily afford £8.99 a month line rental, and £17.99 a month for 2mb internet soley for my room.

You can't have a 200kbs connection as theres only 56k and 512k unless your sharing a 512k and 56k getting lost during the process, thats why I'v opted for my own.
I get 60kbs off torrents on a 512k so I should be getting 240kbs off torrents when my 2mbs up and running (meant to be 15 days for it to arrive from last Sunday)

Nah aslong as your registered with decent private trackers that doesn't have several hundred leechers to 30 seeders then I always get my max.
Hell some of the sites I'm registered to you only need 10 seeders to reach maximum :P
Anyways lets stick to threads topic shall we.

Quote: questioning possible FAKE Verbs on previous page, there were some fakes out in Europe some months ago
Creaky, do you know who faked these discs, and if they surfaced in Canada?
By the way, who permanently suspended GregI(off topic, but I can't help it. I was tired of his attitude and useless junk)?

Almost every brand of quality media has been faked at some point. The key is to know what the numbers on the bottom the disc, right before the inner hub say, those havne't ever been faked that I'm aware of. For instance, TYG02 will read GGxxxxx and Yuden000T02 will read TGxxxxx.

AHH! My Sony DVD+Rs don't say that in the inner hub(and they're made in Japan!)! Is it normal? I see this inside the hub: BK5290700799PG. Are Sony +Rs supposed to have that inside the hub, and do they have a purple base?
Never mind, I found it. Thank goodness my Sony DVD+Rs are Taiyo Yudens. I see this: TG001162. I was looking at the wrong place.

I have two questions:
1) Do Pioneer DVD burners support DVD+R booktyping to DVD-ROM?
2) For Maxell "Made in Japan" DVD+Rs, is it absolutely necessary to look for "High Grade" on the package, and if so, where is it found?

Newer Pioneer Burners support booktyping with the default firmware. I believe the DVR-109 and later do. If you have a model before that, you'll need to use hacked firmware to enable booktyping/bitsetting. Yes it is important to look for High Grade on the package for the Maxell's. The Made in Taiwan Maxell's will range from CMC Mag to RitekG05. There's no way to tell from the outside of the package what it'll code out to. That's why it's best to order them online from one of the sites I mentioned. The prices're great, and there's no guess work as to what you'll end up with.
