I don't get why everywhere I go people are bashng PS3 launch games. Let's be honest, these launch games are twenty times better looking and better running than 360s launch. Xbox games(besides Halo) at launch didn't make the original look any better than the PS2s year in games. Seriously, compare Metal Gear Solid 2 to Azurik or Fuzion Frenzy and tell me that they looked better.

Fusion Frenzy was never about graphics. You might as well compare Black to Paper Mario

well they have had an extra year to launch and in my opinion these launch games like genji and untold legends look nearly as "bad" as some of the 360 launch games, like kameo and pdz, condemed and pgr3 (still one of the best looking games i have ever seen), so if ps3 is so great then the launch games should have no problem overtaking the 360 straight away.
but another way i see it is that even if ps3 launch games had a year less then games like gears of war on the 360, does that mean that ps3 will always be a year behind?

PS3 specs may look better than xbox 360 but i am yet to see a game on the PS3 that looks better than any of the top end xbox 360 games such as gears of war, mass effect and halo 3.

this is my personal opinion, comparing the two consoles side by side for hours and hours like you wouldnt believe (you gotta pass camping time somehow).
360:
madden 07 lags when loadng plays and game info. the ram in the 360 blows for being used for cpu tasks like loading. gddr3 is not made for that. that long screen looking at the scoreboard, it is loading so you are forced to stare at adds for 5+ seconds. the ping pong game has a little fine print under it tht says "accual in-game video realism may vary" or something signifying the demo looks better than the real game. the physics were pretty good. the controller..ugh. after using the sixaxis sooooooooo much in motorstorm i cant even stand playing the 360. the load times are crap. imagine if the core 360 had an hdd, devs could have games load info to it. een then-so the ram is still around 6x less powerful than the xdr i will mention later. the graphics are not what the ps3 has, the tetures for it are so high res and detailed, all that space is put too use. there is a little bit of a lack of aa in newer games. i dont think that 10mb of ed-ram cuts it. the a-semetrical analogs stick always bothered me and hindered my play not something i like myself. all in all, i thought the system was kind of slower here and there, and not as pretty, and i feel it brings nothing new to the table.
ps3: nba 07 blows. the graphics own life but god i dont like basketball games. the players never do what you want them to half the time. i said last time motorstorm didnt use the sixaxis but if you press start it can be enabled. wow is it fun. i went 30 minutes up play before going "hey wheres rumble?" you really dont think about it when staring into the distance to see the beauty of everything. the ai in nba and motorstorm are just..wow. i.e. in motorstorm, the racers will do anything at any time, from nitro to ramming you off the cliff, and they even push you into other crashed vehicles. the xdr sure as hell can be seen. dont let the 256 megs fool you yet because from what i see there iss non of that ram lag when selecting things, it is all almost 100% fluent. in motorstorm, you crash and each and ever different of few to hundreds of fragments individually flying in every direction imagineable with physics in tact. all in all, the cell shows itself, the xdr even more-so, and the sixaxis is just exciting.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

today i went and picked up the HD-DVD drive for a friend. he had to update his 360 and after about 10mins things were up and running. the player actually comes with a movie, which i was unaware of. i am not sure if they are all the same, but the movie was KingKong. i will say it looked pretty damn nice. can't wait to check out Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby...

i watched it, it was hillarious. it was so random yet perfect in that sence. but it can be "stupid" comedy, its worth watching by far. the colors look fantastic and the quality is superb, even on a sdtv with s-video.

muahaha. that is all i can say. i'm gunna go find a thread to post my camping story in tonight..god was it an ever-interestng time..wow.
and the ps store doesnt have enought demos. i want a warhawk demo or something. even thp8. they also have all of 1 or two games for download. what a rip. maybe its cuz i havnt added billing info yet, probably.

the xmb is very user friendly i feel. there are many options. one thing im wondering is how to suffle music. another is why does rr7 not support hdd music or tilt sensing? i read the tilt works for it but i cant fidn it anywhere on how to enable it. i aso want to be able to navigate the xmb with the sixaxis, did they remove that feature? i was looking forward to it.
all in all, the launch games mostly bomb besides resistance, rr7, and thp8. its because few people will have the system yet except early adapters. the good games were pushed to allow more time to develope and implement features.
and yes, i dl'ed motorsotrm. it owns.

Well I'm dissapointed at some of the ps3 launch titles, graphics wise, some don't even compete with some PS2 games..
Same goes with the 360...
I'm likeing the way FFXIII looks atm for PS3.

the launch games are crap because devs postponed the good ones for when more ppl have ps3's. whats the point in releasing a good game with few to buy it?
i could have sworn it had it too, but who knows no. the sony rep at best buy who gave me a ps3 lanyard and a locoroco charm said it did have sixaxis.

i found out how in the manual. you have to go to controller settings and select steering. it will let you go thru a list of buttons or motion sensing for selection.

rr7 DOES have tilt control. by default, its setup to the left stick but if you go to options>controller, you can change gear shifting and steering to motion sensing. imo, rr7 is sooo much better with the tilt so you should try it out

after playing with it a bit more, i find the tilt controls a bit more tedious than before. i've now switched back to the left stick which makes the game a lot easier. i think for other racing games it would be fine but for a game where you have to drift soo much, it isn't that great
