Well excuse me but if you get asked the same question over 50 times you're are about to get a little narky. All it takes is to read the thread PROPERLY instead of the bits you want to read. Then when you are POSITIVE you have all bases covered and it still doesnt work THEN post your problem. Forums have a search button for a reason.
Gee, excuuuussseee me Mr Connor02. But when did this become YOUR thread or YOUR site? As a NEWBIE and a USER it is not in your place to assume responsibility for monitoring the posts.
Granted it is a little irritating to see the same questions over and over, but that is not our problem now is it? This thread is over 40 pages long and sometimes gets off track so it can be a little hard to follow for some.

Never said it was my thread and i never claimed to be a mod either so pull your head in imbecil and besides i see you are a Newbie too so i dont think its your responsibility to police my posts. The first 2 pages of this thread explain everything so yeah i can see how you can be thrown off track by the first 2 pages (sarcasm). It isnt hard to grasp if you read bunny's tutorial is all im saying. But people just jump into the last page screaming HELP!

well it has been a tough weekend trying to figure out this prob...
Ill give you a little more info I have backed up Mario Party 8 a few times on maxell 16X burned at 8 speed and it works fine untill I get to a certain point in the game (playing for about 5min at my save point wich as nerly the end of the game)the game stops and i get unable to read disk....The system is cold and wii connect is off i have been able to use two diferent backups of Mario Party ( one backup is my friends and the other is mine) but the same problem happens.
I have not had a single problem happen using Maxell disks and the original Mario Party 8 disk works fine ( I can get past the locking up stage )
so in short
The system is cold
the disk reads fine
have used two diferent backups from diferent sorce cd's
recorded speeds that work well till this point 8x speed and 12x speed
any ideas?
one more thing i have the bootable winzip file how do i burn the US version using nero

Any Who WiiKey is probably the best chip out there atm. We have a website in Australia where you purchase the chip online then based on your location they direct you to the nearest installer they have and just pay them the installation fee and its done. I had mine done within an 2 hours of purchasing the WiiKey online.

Try using a different media. (Thats if your friends copy isnt already on different media). I find Riteks are good for all console backups. Also how does the game play on your friends Wii ok with no problems? If not i would say it could possibly be a bad dump or media or both or even a console error. Best bet to do is test on your mates console and take it from there. Process of elimination.

I have searched everywhere and I have not found the answer to my question.
I am currently running RawDump 2.0 on a Windows Vista PC. I have extracted the files and put it in a folder called ".../Program Files(x86)/Wii Ripping Software". I start dumping the files, watch a movie, play some Wii and come back to a "Dumping Finished" message. However, when I go to look for the image file, it is not there.
What is the issue?
PC Specs
Athlon x2, 3Gb RAM DDR2, 2x500GB HDD, LG DVD-Rom Drive (I lucked out and actually bought the correct drive before the Wii was even released), Sony DVDR Drive

Check the directory which RawDump is installed into. Thats where they go when dumped.

Again, I extracted RawDump 2.0 to "...Program Files(x86)/Wii Ripping Software" and there are no files to be found. I have done the same game 6 times now.

I have found the problem. Its is all Vista's fault :'(. Because I have placed the program in the "program files" folder, Vista requires the admin to give the ok for this operation and since I am not manually inserting the file, Vista by default, rejects this operation. I moved the program to my documents folder and BAM! there is the iso.

Lots of info on the wii with cut pins in this link
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/517095
Note: As you read the thread above some modders just soldered new legs on the stub of the cut pins, It depends on how your pins were cut off.
some cut pins have alot of stub and some have no stub.
I did the dremel thing and posted nice pictures in the link (page 3).

I have the LG-8164B drive and i hooked it up using this cable http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16822999161 but the rawdump2.0 doesn't recognize it. The dvd drive shows up correctly in windows but the rawdump just lists my other dvd drive that i have internally twice instead of listing it once and the LG once. Anybody know if this cable doesn't work or am I doing something wrong? Thanks.

Like a woman, converter cables can be very temperamental. Why not just install straight to the IDE ports or are they full? If so consider swapping one of the devices on the ide port with the LG.

ya they be full. it seems that the rawdump recognized the drive before i put the wii disk into it but after i insert the wii disk the drive shows up as a cd drive instead of a dvd drive and so rawdump wont recognize it then.
