Holy FREAKING moly, people can't we all just get along? This is supposed to be a fun informative forum for people (newbies and experts)...when I was first considering getting a Wii mod and learning how to do it, I found this place and it was a super informative page that I have bookmarked and visited daily ever since. Newbies just have to be better at finding the appropriate forum/thread to post and search from and have some patience, and experienced members should just understand that not everyone lives on this board 24-7 so to also have some patience to. I seriously think we need a major round of "Kumbaya"
To answer the question about the xbox-modchips.com website, in general I haven't used that site but after careful research I sent my Wii for mod over to www.mash-mods.com. The guy is EXCELLENT, keeps in constant communication every step of the way, and will do it for a cheaper price then your website you asked about, and will offer a 2 month warranty which isn't as good as the 1 year warranty obviously. My informal research has showed me that all the sites that are based out of Canada (xbox-modchips.com and mash-mods.com) are still doing good work and not getting shut down so far, especially if you are a newbie who knows nothing about soldering and don't want to take the chance doing it yourself on one of the new "unmoddable" consoles. mash-mods.com has taken down their Wii installation service as a precaution but will be back up by the end of the month.
And since this is a thread about Wii game backup, I figured that I would add that so far I have backed up numerous games now using just Memorex (a.k.a. total cheapie) DVD-R's + the LG8164B burner and Rawdump 2.0/Nero Burning Rom and have had no problems so far, except that about 1 out of every 4 or 5 blank DVD-R discs has a read error during the verification process, which is a failure rate I'm willing to accept for now. I'll be trying Verbatims soon and will let you know how things look with them so far.

Hey guys
I just installed the LG drive, and have download rawdumper 2.0 and the .net framework.
About halfway through the dump, my rawdumper stops responding, but doesn't show any signs of it, unless I watch it really closely and just notice that it isn't making any progress. The first time, I got some message about overflow, which I don't understand.
Sorry guys, I'm not too good with computers. Would anyone be able to help me, or should I just leave the burning to those who understand it?

Oh Hey guys,
Just got a quick question which I need answers to, I know in the opening post where you have talked about the file size need to be exact to that value to work.
Basically I have to ISO file, well not really ISO, more like .gcm and.nrg and both of these file are a little smaller than 1.35gb, One file is 1.33gb and the other is 1.35gb, but for 1.35gb, the byte value is not exact to the value which was listed in the opening post.
I was wondering will both of these file work, or what are the chances of these file working?
Oh I didn't dump these files myself, As I didn't get the LG drive yet, its really hard to get it here in Australia. Oh both of those torrent are from online sources, because I really need to test my Gamecube to see if the mod works.
and basically to burn both of these file, I need to rename both to.iso right?
Thanks in advance, and sorry if it is a little confusing
Cheers,

Yes renaming the .gcm to iso should work. But if you have nero you could probably just burn the .nrg file with nero.

Thanks for that tuffguy23, but regarding my first question.... about the file size, Since I am getting it from an online source, and the fire size are 1.33gb and 1.35gb, what is the chances of those file working on my Gamecube.
Since my cube is getting mod this weekend, I have no idea how to test if the mod work without downloading an ISO file online, because I can't find the drive here in Australia. so any answer regarding that questions about the file size is much appreciated.
I got an older Dual Laer DVD burner, which is the GSA-4160B model, will that work?
Thanks in advance guys.

Oh ok... thanks for that mate, but I am currently in Sydney, Ill probably give MSY or ARC a try.
Oh I got another question, well my GameCube is not modded yet, is there a way to test if the dump is good or bad?
And how do I actually rename the file from .nrg to .iso.
I tried doing it normally like put ".iso" after the file name, but for some reason it doesn't seem to work, for eg. MarioKart.nrg changed to MarioKart.iso, but apparently that doesn't work, everytime I open with Nero it says it is a .nrg file.

Ok if they do not have any drives I brought 2 just in case a friend wanted one. I asked the same thing about checking to see if the backup worked without having a mod yet but i did not get a reply.

Try to unscramble the ISO's before you burn them !! They'll become the same size.

Thanks for the quick reply, as you can see I am a beginner to this modding scene, never ever got a modded console in mylife, so this is pratically new to me.
About the scrabbling thing, how do I go about doing this?
Like what software should I be looking at and so forth.
oh regarding the .nrg problem, I think I solved it, I used PowerISO to convert it to .iso, is that ok? Because When I try renaming it manually it won't work

Download Rawdump2.0
And selcect unscramble in the menu... select the file you downloaded and he will unscramvble it... When he's finished you can burn and play !! (when he doesn't do anything than the file doesn't need to be unscrambled !!)

Hi, Guys just reporting back.
Burnt my first copy of game, I am not sure if it works or not, as my console isn't modded yet until this weekend.
Anyways I just want to confirm if I did the burning right or not, well I two burnt copies the iso file which I downloaded online, one with nero and the other with imgburn.
Ummm should I still be seeing the ISO file after burn it on to the DVD, I mean when I chuck in the Burnt game into my PC, it actually auto reads and it pops up showing me the iso file on the DVD. Is that correct?
Here is a screenshot of what I am explaining:

Hmm thanks for that, but for my RawDump2.0, I see no menu at all and there is no where i can select unscramble, as seen below:

Oh is there a way to test if the burnt is successful or is working without a modded gamecube?
b4rtj4h, I would just like to say thanks for your help, it is much appreciated.
