Here is my problem. I bought 2 WiiKeys, and a new Duo chip. I have about 10 inches of wire going to the chip outside of the Wii. The wire that I used if very thin, with the exception of the V+ and GND is used thicker wire. During the installation of a WiiKey I lifted the Wii pad on #6. Therefore I followed the trace, and soldered the wire right to the IC leg. I tried all 3 of the chips, and have the same results.

I have made my own backups using a recommended LG drive. I have 5 different backups and the bytes match exactly what is in the first post. I have burned them using both Nero Ultimate 6 and ImgBurn. I have used 5 different types of media (TAIYO YUDEN DVD-R, Maxell DVD-R, Sony DVD+R, RiData-R, TDK DVD-R). I also have tried 2 different burners (an NEC and a Pioneer). I even upgraded the firmware on the burners still no success.

I?ve burned them all from 2x ? 8x. None of the Wii backups work. When I put the game in, either with it powered off or at the channel select it goes to the black screen ?There is an error, please eject the disk and power off...?

I burned the WiiKey Configuration onto one of the DVD-R?s and the Channel changes to Gamecube Disk, which I am able to run. I also have 5 GameCube backups that work.

Since the GC backups and WiiKey Configuration load, I am assuming that the chip is wired and working correctly.

I am assuming the backups that I created are correct. As I used an appropriate LG drive, and the Byte values matched.

------------------------------------------------------------------------
Brief Summary:

Original GC = Works
Backup GC = Works
Original Wii = Works
Wii Homebrew (WiiKey Configuration) = Works

Backup Wii = black screen ?There is an error, please eject the disk and power off...?
Creating the backups myself, final byte values match.

Tried 2 different burners (NEC, Pioneer)
Tried 2 different burning software (Nero 6, ImgBurn)
Tried 5 different types of media (TAIYO YUDEN DVD-R, Maxell DVD-R, Sony DVD+R, RiData-R, TDK DVD-R).

Tried 3 different mod-chips (2-WiiKeys, 1-Duo)

I am looking for any other suggestions.

I always get an error when dumping when i get to 1318mb.

it come up with...

Unhandled exception has occured in your application. if you click contine the application will ignore this error and attempt to contine. if you click quit then the application will close immediately.
Arithmetic operation resulted in an overflow.

If i click contine nothing happens.

It always happens on the same point using RawDump 2.0.

Any ideas please???

I was going to get the following Nero Suite to help me burn Wii games, since my LG drive/external enclosure are on their way in and I want everything set up before I mod my Wii. Can someone check this link and tell me if this version of Nero will work? Do I need to spring for the actual Nero Burning ROM or will the suite with Nero Express work also?

http://www.pcmicrostore.com/PartDetail.aspx?q=p:1037409&kbid=1008

If this does work, then I don't mind paying only $4 for Nero if it's how I can back up games!

Also will previous versions of Nero work well also?

@ bigd1234

Turn on Region overide !! I forgot it to in the beginning! And try to use only DVD-R/RW !! These do not give errors !!

@LBSurvivr

It Will work (i have got the same) But to backup you will need Rawdump 2.0 asswel !!

@ Cregie

Are you trying to dump an backup?? This isn't possible with Rawdump yet... Use (if you have a Wiikey) the DVD-DUMP tool!!

That would be all folks :P

Wii + Wiikey = WiiFun :P

The disc is dirty or scratched. Clean it and if it doesn't work still, then it's scratched too badly, either get another one or download it.

A couple of questions for those of you who are succesfully backing up your Wii games:

1. I bought a new Wii yesterday (July 28, 2007). Will the WiiKey work on Wiis that are brand new? (Just making sure Nintendo hasn't made the new models incompatible w/ the Wiikey mod chip)

2. Does anyone have any experience with the Wiikey clone? It's $30 cheaper than the Wiikey and mod-chip.com claims they both have the same specs.

HI
Everyone. After much reading on your forum i have managed eventually to get up and running with my Wii (upgrade) and also how to...lets say save my investment on the disc's.However i have come across a slight problem and wondered if anyone has encounted the same.....
Here goes....
Prince of Persia (Wii) after dumping to h/drive and checking the file size as per instructions all is fine until you fire up nero or imgburn and select the file you want,in this case Prince Of Persia...
it is only taking across about 1.8Gb of the 4.36Gb file.Does anyone know why or where i am going wrong.I await your replys.

To burn games to a dvd you can use any dvd drive, you don't need one of the listed ones.

I'm sorry for the confusion i created.

oh and to comment on them drives i ahve them all and all work fine...AND also you can use LG 8080B......AS WELLL....this works great to..tested and no problems...thanks bunny
Hmmm... I'm looking at a LG Dell Inspiron Latitude Laptop DVD-Drive DRN-8080B. Do you think that this will be good for backing up Wii and GC Games?

Wiikey Modchip *OFFICIAL* w/ Hologram. Here is what they said on there website.

These are authentic Wiikey's with the Hologram. Beware of other stores that sell them without the hologram. It may be a clone. All authentic Wiikey's now come with a hologram sticker.

You can find us listed as an official distributor on Wiikey's website!
