Anyways I just want to confirm if I did the burning right or not, well I two burnt copies the iso file which I downloaded online, one with nero and the other with imgburn.
Ummm should I still be seeing the ISO file after burn it on to the DVD, I mean when I chuck in the Burnt game into my PC, it actually auto reads and it pops up showing me the iso file on the DVD. Is that correct?
Here is a screenshot of what I am explaining:

Oh ok, thanks for that, But have I correctly burnt the game?
Am I even meant to see the ISO file itself on the DVD after its burnt, because to me that looks wrong.
Oh and I forgot, can I use Alcohol 120% to burn?

Oh awesome, thanks for that, hmmm well i just went through half the thread here, apparently ppl are not seeing file after they have successfully burnt their copy on to a disk.
But for me I am seeing an ISO file on the disk, and no I did not burn it as data.

Hey Guys,
Just reporting back again, been mucking around instead of try burning the .iso file, I burnt the .nrf file instead, and the result of that "seems" right, as you guys have said, you will end up with a disk which will say 0 byte and 0 space left after the burn, and when I go into the disk I see no file at all.
But at the mean time I can't test it out yet, until the weekends.....
I don't get why the result for the .iso is different to the .nrf file.

Great tutorial, think I know what to do, got Wii chipped, brought the LG Drive but for the life of me can't get a working version of rawdump 2.0, every time I try to extract I get..
! Rawdump2.0\rawdump.exe: The file "Rawdump2.0\rawdump.exe" header is corrupt
! Rawdump2.0\rdump.dll: The file "Rawdump2.0\rdump.dll" header is corrupt
! Rawdump2.0\Readme.txt: The file "Rawdump2.0\Readme.txt" header is corrupt
! Rawdump2.0: The file "Rawdump2.0" header is corrupt
! Free Software.url: The file "Free Software.url" header is corrupt
! Free Videos.url: The file "Free Videos.url" header is corrupt
Any ideas, I've got 40+ Wii/GC games to I want to back up before my 3yo breaks any more (2 so far). Thanks heaps

are there any SATA drives that can rip wii retail DVDs? cause the LGs suggested were IDE drives.
also, which burner should i use to burn wii games? i currently use the one i have in my DELL 700m and it seems to be fine. i'm thinking of buying the for my desktop for burning wii backups.
Being SATA or IDE doesn't really matter for ripping the Wii retail discs. Think about it: if you burn a DVD @ 8x it takes about 7-9 minutes no matter if your DVD burner is SATA (mine at work) or IDE (mine at home). So... if ripping a retail Wii disc takes 2 - 2.5hrs then what speed do you think it's ripping at? The drive interface at these low speed is irrelevant.
I'm also hoping there will be an SATA drive out soon (my MB does not have IDE, only SATA) that can read the discs.

Tried heaps of different sites, same result from all of them. Is there something wrong with my computer or what????
Any chance someone could email me a copy of Rawdump 2.0 to cajordan@slingshot.co.nz
At the moment it looks like I've spent about $150 (NZ) to get one overseas game to work and it's really annoying

Hi, hmm the Pioneer drives are great, but afaik to actually dump the Wii or Gamecube image you will need one of those LG drives listed in the opening post.
AFTER the dumping of image is completed, you can use ANY DVD burner to burn the ISO on to the DVD.

Hello, does anyone know if it's possible to make copies of the backup disc? The original rip off the factory disc occupies a big chunk of memory on the HD, so I don't wish to keep it on the HD, and it takes me about 3 hours to rip the factory disc... so don't want to re-rip it. Is it possible to rip the backup with a different program or use Nero to rip it for backup again? Must I use the LG drive or any drive? I tried my usual drive, a Sam Sung, and it cannot see the .iso file on the copied disc, but I'm very new to Nero and don't know it's ins and outs.

TO COPY
1. Install ImgBurn
2. Insert copied Wii game
3. Launch ImgBurn and select Mode -> Read from the menu bar
4. Click the Burn button on the lower left hand corner of the program window.
TO BURN
1. Launch ImgBurn and select Mode -> Write from the menu bar
2. Make sure your burn rate (lower right hand corner) is set to 4x (that's what I use)
3. Click on Browse for a File button
4. Navigate to where your previously ripped game ISO file is
5. Click on the Burn button on the lower left hand corner of the program window.
Voila!

Hi guys,
Well I got my GC modded today, and the game works great, very nice guide.
Well some other file I needed Fstfix to solve the size issue, but thats it.
Well My GC was modded today, got home played for 30min, turn it off, and when I go to turn it back on again, it won't run my backed up game anymore, becoz my mod chip will not boot up, I have to bring it back to the shop to get it fix >.<, Mod chip is DuoQ.

I've tried backing up nearly a dozen games now using the LG drive and Rawdump as mentioned in the tutorial. Following it as best I can and yet every backup iso size is 4,589,824 or 4,589,825
Can someone suggest what might be the problem please?

@kemik
it doesn't matter.. as long as the when you look at the size, it should all just total to 4.37GB... then you should be good..
- question guys..
How can I tell which drives is on what ATA controller..
I'm running sata HDD and IDE DVD/DVDRW drives.. and in my device manager show two Pri and two Secondary ... so which one would I pick to change for PIO MODE..
If I change everything to PIO Mode ... the whole thing just is slow!!!!!.. any feedback on this?
