What game is it? Don't worry about CD/DVDGen. The file is not finished downloading or is corrupted. Open up your BT program and let if finish downloading.

I realize that the software is in compatible with mac, If needed be I could get the software on windows to do the rebuild, the only thing i'm wondering about is whether or not I can get Virtual PC to recognize the dvd burner. If anyone has any idea of how to do this, if it's even possible, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks

The mds file contains burning info which tells your software how to handle it. You can open it with word pad and see what I'm talking about. It does burn the iso. You just load the mds into file into DVD Decrypter. That's the way you do it. Nik, why are you rebuilding? It sounds like the file isn't finished downloading, there's nothing to burn until you've extracted the iso correctly. What game are you trying to burn? You need to answer my questions if you want me to help you.

You open the mds file and click burn in DVD Decrypter. It automatically knows to burn the iso.

Use DVD Decrypter. Guide: http://home.earthlink.net/~moderator/id3.html Burn at 4x on an 8x DVD-R.
2. Q. Does the type of media I use matter?
A. YES: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/3/240341 If you're too lazy to read, use Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Ritek, Sony, TDK, Maxell, Sony or Phillips DVD-R's. Avoid Memorex, Staples, Imation, etc.

I'm sorry if I confused you, I'm not currently rebuilding, that may or may not be a future problem. What I'm concerned with right now is if anyone knows how to get virtual pc to recognize the dvd burner drive so that I can actually burn the game using the DVD Decrypter. If all else fails I believe I could transfer the mds file to the Mac OS and burn the file using Roxio or the disc utility but I've never heard of anyone doing that so I have no way of knowing exactly how to do that, nor do I know if it will be successful. So to by pass that potential problem i'd rather just burn the file in windows following the previously stated instructions on how to burn a game with DVD Decrypter, but when I try to do the write/ISO it says that it can't detect a writing device despite the fact that I have a dvd burner.

Under my computer or wherever shows all of your drives in Mac OSX, does it show your burner? I use a Sony External Burner, and my computer doesn't detect it unless it's switched on. Make sure your burner is turned on, is an external or internal burner?

It's an internal burner, and yes within the Mac OS it does show that it's there, and I've used it there a hundred times, but in the emulated windows it can't seem to recognize it.

Why not just use toast to burn it, if Mac recognizes it?

well my only problem with that is that I don't know how exactly to burn it, do I just burn it has an image file, do I burn it as a date file, and ISO file? Also, I've never heard of anyone doing it and I don't know enough about the process to know that it would actually work doing that way. Unless you know how I would use Toast to burn it?

actually I have an mds file, I don't know what exactly that is or how to burn that. I have a program on mac that will allow me extract the video ts files from the original disc and i have another program that will allow me to convert it to an image file. I don't know what format that image file is in though. Are image files always the same format? If so, what format is that? ISO?
Also, in the mac thread it says that with mac you can't fix a ps2 game, i get that part but what I'm confused on is this, do all ps2 games need to be 'fixed' or is this only something that has to be done with certain ones? If so, what criteria is used to determine whether or not a ps2 game needs to be 'fixed'?
Thanks

No. Very few games have neet rebuilt. Only games over 4.38GB's and only if you're using Swap Magic. This accounts for about 5% of PS2 games. The mds file should have an mdf file or an iso with it, you only hava an mds file? Try loading that into toast and see if it'll let you burn it. How big is the mds file?
