So far i have tried with three sony disks and 1 philips and 1 memorex i get this message now. i tried reinstalling the program but nothing. Is it because the game i'm trying to burn is 4.6 gb and i have a fat32 burner that only supports 2gb
Heres the pic of the error message

I have a question that I cannot seem to find anywhere. If I purchase the DMS4 E.Z.I. / DMS4 E.Z.I. Pro Solder less Chip, will I have to go through the entire game rebuilding process just to copy a game? I have some money to spend. I want to make the game copying process and Mod chip installation process as quick and painless as possible. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

You don't have to rebuild games with a chip. Some exceptions would be if you're using cheap media, or EA sports games. I had to rebuild NBA Live 2006. I have a Matrix Infinity 1.54. Rebuilding is a snap:
11. Q. How Do I rebuild games?
A. With Nero and Isobuster (works as long as no single file is over 2 GB's): http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/197949 With CD/DVDGen: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/210515
67. Q. I'm interested in a no solder modchip, are they any good and why I would I choose one over a solder chip?
A. The main reason would be to save money on installation, IF you are qualified to install it yourself, and of course there is no soldering involved. No soldering well your home free then, right?
Not: http://www.dms3.com/dms4ezi/downloads/Installation_Manual/DMS4_EZ... The DMS 4 EZI Pro and EZI lite are the only solderless chips I'm aware of for the PS2 right now. They're around $30 more than their solder cousins and have all the same features. If you can handle the installation you'll save a grand total of $5 or so. Wow, what a deal. For about the same cost, you can have a pro do it. If your serious about a GOOD modchip and have $100 or so to throw down on a Matrix Infinity or DMS 4, pay a pro to do it and save yourself some time and aggrivation. There are people who have solderless chips and love them, the ultimate decision lies with you.

Get rid of the Memorex. Sony and Phillips should be okay. What game are you trying to burn? What kind of burner do you have? @Dan You can't download Swap Magic and burn it. The only way to boot a backup of Swap Magic is with a modchip or an original copy.

Don't use DVD+R's. Always use DVD-R's when backing up PS2 games.
1. Q. How do I burn PS2 games?
A. Use DVD Decrypter. Guide: http://www.angelfire.com/games6/easytutorial/dvddec/dvddec.html Burn at 4x on an 8x DVD-R.
2. Q. Does the type of media I use matter?
A. YES: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/3/240341 If you're too lazy to read, use Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Ritek, Sony, TDK, Maxell, Sony or Phillips DVD-R's. Avoid Memorex, Staples, Imation, etc.
3. Q. Do I need some type of mod to play PS2 backups or imports?
A. Yes you need a modchip: http://teammodders.com/ps2_mc.php?ex=2 Swap Magic: http://swapmagic3.com/ Memory Card Exploit (Doesn't work with v.11 PS2 and later): http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/109289 HD Loader: http://www.hdloader.com.au/hardinstall#prepare or

Well you can't write at 1x for one thing. It says it supports 2.4x, 4x, and 8x. Try burning at 4x. Ditch the CMC Magnetics media, it's awful. You might get by with it for now, but pick up something better down the road. Are you using Swap Magic? If so you may need to rebuild the game since it's 4.6GB's.

I can't explain it any more simply than this:

Just wondering, will swap magic and a flip top work for imported NTSC games into australia?

Yeah the DMS 4 is an excellent chip. That and the Matrix Infinity (which I have) are the two best modchips for the PS2, hands down. You definitely won't be disappointed. Swap Magic will work fine in Australia. I believe games are in PAL format down there. Make sure you order Swap Magic PAL if you have a PAL PS2, or NTSC if you have an NTSC PS2. It doesn't matter that much since you can force video mode with Swap Magic anyway. You should try it to match it to your PS2 though. It will load backups or imports fine. Here's some more info on Swap Magic:
Q. What do I need to use Swap Magic?
A. With fat PS2 v.1-11: Flip top: http://www.chipzone.com/installation/playstation2/fliptop/page1.cfm Slide Card: http://www.saveware.com/SlideCardUsageAndInstall.htm With Slim PS2 v.12-14
Flip top: http://www.chipzone.com/installation/playstation2/fliptop-v12/pag... Magickeys (also referred to as slide tool, slim tool or, magic switch): http://magickeys.net/ or tape and tissue mod: From Pretense: If the fliptop doesn't work, just give up on it and do a tape and tissue mod. Open up your case again and tape the back sensor (toward the upper left and beneath the hinge part of the lid) with duct tape or even regular Scotch tape (I use several layers to be on the safe side), put the case back together, and stuff a small ball of tissue into the hole for the front sensor (lower right just above the power button).
10. Q. What does rebuilding an iso mean?
A. It means that some games 4.36-4.38GB's may need rebuilt to work with Swap Magic. Games over 4.38GB's will need rebuilt. This isn't true for ALL games over 4.38GB's and differs on a game to game basis. There is no need to rebuild games if you have a modchip.
11. Q. How Do I rebuild games?
A. With Nero and Isobuster (works as long as no single file is over 2 GB's): http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/197949 With CD/DVDGen: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/210515
47. Q. Should I get Swap Magic or a modchip to play PS2 backups/imports?
A. Depends. Swap Magic is inexpensive and works well. It isn't compatible with DVD-9 games. For games above 4.38GB's you may have to rebuild the iso or do a TOC refresh to boot it. This is a small percentage of games, around 5%. In general Swap Magic 3.6 is an excellent product. After rebuilding there isn't a single game which Swap Magic won't boot. A good modchip is the ultimate upgrade. It'll play PSX/PS2/DVD/CD backups/imports automatically. It's compatible with DVD-9 games, makes your PS2 a region free player, supports multi disc games, and you'll never have to rebuild a game or shrink a DVD-9 to DVD-5. The conversation about good modchips begins and ends with the DMS 4 and the Matrix Infinity. They both do everything I mentioned above. For that functionality you would have to spend $100 to $110 for a professional install. It's expensive but you'd be able to play anything the PS2 is capable of reading. If you get a modchip make sure you use one of the reputable installers posted above.
37. Q. I downloaded a PAL game, how do I convert it to NTSC?
A. Use Adrenaline patcher if it's an EA game: http://www.megagames.com/ps2/ps2_utils_files.shtml#ADRenalin%20Patcher Note: I've been told this works for non EA games as well. The screen won't be perfectly centered, unless you have a modchip that forces video mode.
Or patch with PAL2NTSC patcher with Y fix for non EA games: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/121718

with swap magic you need a special mod fliptop for the ps2.
Also with what you downloaded from limewire I am not sure if it will boot your system and even if it would you still would need a modified fliptop to play your backup games...

No I was talking to Mitch. You definitely don't need Swap Magic with a DMS 4 EZI Pro. It direct boots everything. Btw, go with the Pro over the Lite. The only way to boot a burned copy of Swap Magic is with an original copy or a modchip.

You can, but it's usually better to just rip the game to your hard drive, then burn it to DVD-R. Use DVD Decrypter. Burn at 4x on an 8x DVD-R. DVD Decrypter is an amazing program, and it's free.

okay this ish is driving me crazy ... every game i've tried to backup hasn't worked at all when I burn them and I've used Verbatim, Memorex and Sony ... but when my friend burned them for me, they've worked fine ... I don't know what I'm doing wrong ...
I've got a DUO 2 modchip, a Memorex DVD burner(backup movies work perfect) and use DVD Decryptor ...
any suggestions on what could be wrong ?
