The Duo 2 is a good chip. Burn at 4x on an 8x DVD-R. If you're backing up and original, make sure to set the read speed to 1x. Otherwise are you using DVD-R's, DVD+R's, DVD-RW's, what? Make sure you're operating the Duo2SE properly:
PS2 games
Method 1:
-Press EJECT button to switch on the machine.
-Insert PS2 game in tray.
-Tap RESET button once, the machine would reboot and then load your game.
Method 2:
- Press EJECT button to switch on the machine.
- Insert PS2 game in tray, the press EJECT button to close tray.
- The disc will then take 2-5 seconds to be recognized and then boot.
To boot another game when already playing a game.
- Press EJECT button.
- The current game would then pause and the tray would come out.
- Change to another PS2 game disc and tap RESET button once.
- The machine would reboot and then load your game.
PSX games
- Press EJECT button to switch on the machine.
- Insert PSX game in tray, then press and hold RESET button to switch off machine.
- Now hold the RESET button to start up your machine. Only release the RESET button once the Blue LED light of the Eject button lights up.
DVD movies
- Press EJECT button to switch on the machine.
- Insert DVD movie in tray, then press and hold RESET button to switch off machine.
- Now hold the RESET button to start up your machine. Only release the RESET button after like 4-5 seconds.
Disable Mode
- Hold the RESET button for like 4-5 seconds to boot up your machine.

thanks for the reply
Sony DVD-R is what I'm tryin to burn it on ... and when you say
"If you're backing up and original, make sure to set the read speed to 1x."
do you mean write speed to 1x? If not, then how do I set the read speed to 1x when I'm backing up the original?

That's if you are backing up a game you own. If you are just burning one you downloaded, don't worry about it. Burn at 4x on an 8x DVD-R using DVD Decrypter. Sony DVD-R's should be fine. If you are creating a backup for a game you own, go to Tools--> Settings -->Device check set read speed, and set it to 1x. What game are you trying to burn?

The link that you left for me on how to rebuild an iso it says that to burn with Nero. would burning with Nero still work on my ps2 or DVD Decrypter is the best way to go???

A. The main purpose of Isobuster is to extract the game files to a different folder, then place them into Nero in the same order they're listed in Isobuster. You have to use Nero, using DVD Decrypter won't work. You can using it to create the initial image, but the rebuilt game must be burned with Nero. This question goes to everybody, what kind of DVD's are you using?

There isn't much to explain. Go into DVD Decrypter. Go to Tools-->Settings-->Device. Check set read speed, and set it to 1x. Then insert ratchet into your DVD burner and go to MODE-ISO-READ. Then click Decrypt. It'll take an hour or so for the file to finish. When it's done you'll have an iso and a mds file. Go to MODE-->ISO-->WRITE and browse to the mds file. Double click it. Set the write speed at 4x. Click Decrypt. Your DVD will say what speed it is, 4x, 8x, 16x, on the top of the disc. If it's a 4x disc, go ahead and burn at 1x. If it's 16x, burn at 4x, same for an 8x disc. All DNA's means is that the game will be need patched to play online, it has nothing to do with copying the disc. You do have Swap Magic, a modchip, or some type of mod to boot a backup copy of the game, right?

I just figured out what was wrong ... for some reason, only Verbatims seem to work on my Duo2 and nothing else ... burned it again and the Verbatim worked perfect but Memorex and Sony don't ... I understand the Memorex, but why Sony?

Just set read speed to 1x. That's it. I am playing a Soul Reaver 2 right now, which I rented from gamefly and copied, and it works fine. I set the read speed to 1x, didn't mess with anything else. MODE-->ISO-->READ then clicked Decrypt. It was done creating the iso in 45 mins. I went to MODE-->ISO-->WRITE, loaded the mds file, set the write speed to 4x and clicked Decrypt. I burned it to Maxell DVD-R's, and it works fine. There was some minor skipping during cut scenes, because the rental is badly scratched. Aside from that it works great.

1. Q. How do I burn PS2 games?
A. Use DVD Decrypter. Guide: http://www.angelfire.com/games6/easytutorial/dvddec/dvddec.html Burn at 4x on an 8x DVD-R.
2. Q. Does the type of media I use matter?
A. YES: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/3/240341 If you're too lazy to read, use Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim, Ritek, Sony, TDK, Maxell, Sony or Phillips DVD-R's. Avoid Memorex, Staples, Imation, etc.
3. Q. Do I need some type of mod to play PS2 backups or imports?
A. Yes you need a modchip: http://teammodders.com/ps2_mc.php?ex=2 Swap Magic: http://swapmagic3.com/ Memory Card Exploit (Doesn't work with v.11 PS2 and later): http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/109289 HD Loader: http://www.hdloader.com.au/hardinstall#prepare or
HD Advance: http://www.hdadvance.com/hd_advance_how-to-use.htm

Tokijin you were very helpful last time. I am just curious to if you have any sort of text you can send on burning games that don?t need to be rebuilt since I will be using a mod chip that doesn?t require them to. Sounds stupid because their have been a thousand requests for burning information, but I'm not sure if I still need DVD decryptor, or isomagic or if I can burn directly using Nero and a DVD-R. Thanks for the info.
