The wiikey is a realtively easy solder job if you have any type of good solder experience. Very quick and painless if you know what you are doing the most work comes with disassembling the wii the solder job should only take 5 min or less.

Good Evening all,
I purchased my Wiikey about 3 weeks ago and it arrived the other day (I was planning on following the tutorial on this site), however I ended up selling my Wii before I got a chance to get the Wiikey and get it put in.
With that said, I now have a BRAND NEW Wiikey, still in the little baggy with the hologram. I bought it from the official wiikey.cn website.
Please email me at devoted2success@yahoo.com if you would like to make an offer, I'm not gonna ask for much. I will ship this the same day I get the payment. I could either trash this ya know...or at least hookup others who still have Wiis and are looking for a deal.

I was wondering if there is an Sata version of the drive used to rip wii games. I don't care that it may not be faster, I would just prefer one for cable management. I like to keep my case looking clean. Thanks

Hi guys, I have had much success backing up my GC games, due to this thread.
And I would like to say thank you to everyone here.
But I have just got a quick question regarding which blank DVD to buy.
Well I have 2 spindles of DVD 50 packs each in front of me, oh its the full size DVD's btw
One is Ritek and the other is Laser.
The Ritek one, works perfectly with my gamecube, but for the laser one, every single copy of the game I burnt will not work in my gamecube.
Basically I was wondering what other brand DVD's work.
Basically I am looking for a list of what DVD brand works.
Thanks in advance guys
Cheers.

Ok... I am getting started into this Wii modding. I have a few questions.
1. I found a turotial on another website that lists drives that can read Wii discs. The drive I was looking at is a LG GDR-H10NBLK (SATA). Do you think this drive will work properly? Here is the website: http://wiki.nintendo-scene.com/index.php...ii_and_GC_discs
2. My real dilemma is the fact I already have 2 DVD drives in my PC and they are hooked up via IDE. My MOBO is new and I also have SATA connections for drives. Can I hook up this LG GDR-H10NBLK by SATA and also use the other 2 drives via IDE? So I would now have 3 DVD drives in my PC... Would it be possible to connect 3 DVD drives via IDE?
Wii w/update 3.2U
Wii Key 1.9s firmware
3Ghz Intel Cel dual core
Sony DRU-810A DL DVD+/-RW
Nero software
Ritek 4x DVD-R/RiData 2.4X DL DVD+R

Quick question since this wiikey mod lets you play the backup games in iso format will it also let the wii play backup dvd movies??

Why don't you get an external enclosure? That way you can use the drive through USB.

The external enclosure is a good idea, but I don't want to spend the extra money for it. I have a MOBO that has 2 IDE & 2 SATA connections. I am currently not using the SATA connections, so I thought I could save money as well as being able to get the drive into my PC case. I was trying to simplify the installation as well as limit the cost.
