dr.cool is just giong to set up another account and i dont think we can stop that ever. where is this thread where dr cool started loosing it? or saying stuff he shouldnt have being saying?
and how many moderators is there for the whole afterdawn forums? because i have only ever encountered one and thats Nephilim.

To be honest I don't even know the full number (up in the double digits) but there are usually only a handful that are active on a regular basis. Most folks are familiar with me because I'm here every day running amok in every forum that I can :)

Good question glitchzoo.I mean how do you become a moderator?
I personally have encountered probably 5 different ones.Neph usually is on the games threads though which might explain why you have only seen him.Don't get me wrong I have seen neph on other thread subjects too.
Lol don't know what dr.cool was thinking.Maybe someone pissed in his cherios that morning.Why do folks hate the mods so much anyways?I have been warned occasionaly but never lashed out or took offence to it.Maybe it's just me though.

wow ddp your the second moderator iv ever seen.
you know whan you become an afterdawn adict and you can have a custom name underneeth your name, you could just put moderator there and start bossing everyone around when your not even a real moderator.

I started out her as a newbie just like everyone else. Becoming a mod entails thousands of quality, knowledgable posts, a good rapport with the community and the respect of the existing mods since they're the ones that make nominations when the call comes out for new ones.
Basically it boils down to sticking around, learning all you can then using that knowledge to help others - "teach and learn" as my compadre ddp says. In my case I've been here since February '03 and going by the current post count system I'm an Addict more than seven times over, a good part of that from helping folks in the DVD and CD forums before becoming a mod. I was around under the old ranking system where Seniors and Addicts were hand picked by the mods and admins for their outstanding contributions to the community. I made both ranks the old way before becoming a mod.
Being a mod means breaking up schoolyard fights every damn day, getting cussed out for asking folks to follow simple rules and my personal favorite is seemingly always having your actions second guessed by twits that don't have a clue. Glamorous isn't it? :)

looks like this is imposible for me i join fights to break them up rather then stand in da middle and tell them to stop ^_^
and rule i follow them but dont know why i always get in trouble ^_^

Anyways...back on subject. The Blu-ray drive is what allows Ps3 to be in 1080p right? And HD-DVD at the most is 1080i. So if the 360 doesn't have a HD-DVD drive, how do they get 1080i out of a standard DVD?

No. The ps3's video card is how the ps3 will put out 1080p.

HD-DVD is also 1080p. The difference between Blu-ray and HD-DVD is in price (speculation) and capicity. Not quality. Both are written in mpeg2 or 4, so any difference in quality you can detect between Blu-ray and HD-DVD is just your imagination or a problem with the setup of the player/cables/tv.

dud eyou need to reaserch that a bit.
at the moment the xbox 360 outputs a normal dvd at 480i
but the high definision will be outputted on whatever reserlution or mode you have on.
what the xbox 360 does is it builds the image in the highest reserlution it can e.g 1080i , and then it scales it down to whatever out pput you have plugged in, do if you have a standard definision cable plugged in it will scale it down to that, if you have a high definision output on 1080 i it wont scale it down and will just out put the image.

i'd love to be a mod, like a local one for certain thread groups. time will tell i guess, i'll try not to be banned again, ahaha accedents are what make us unique.
But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

See, I had thought that certain discs ( Blu-ray and HD-DVD ) allowed the resolution to be 1080p and 1080i.
And since the 360 didn't use HD-DVD yet, I didn't get how it could produce the 1080i but now I know.
