jeffschla No we can not send you the FW. you need to dump it on your PSP.(that is why there is no full packs like the old DH had)
broc455 you need to tell us what you do and what DH and FW you use.
JPS72 firmware is the # or version that your psp is.(I have a 3.10 OE-A2)
mav3rek edit your post.
and that is what you had to do update yout devhook to DHv52
or update your psp.(3.03 OE or 3.10 OE)
tayray69 if you looked at some of the last pages here you can see there is a new DHv52.

alright... i have ta-082 psp running 1.5 FW which emulates FW 3.01 on .51 DevhoOk Beta. The thing is, fifty percent of the time when i am exiting a UMD the "please wait..." screen will freeze the psp. Other times, running any UMD will freeze the ps at the white *Ba'DiNg* psp screen that appears when you boot a UMD. When the freezes occure, i have to hard reset the psp. Its straight up 50% of the time... so my Q is is there a way to ensure loading and exiting of UMDs, or at least ways to raise the success rate of said tasks??

HI! I Have got a friend to install devhook in my PSP and all the games I have used they play well(fifa 07,gta vcs...).But I try to play crash bandicoot 3 for PSX and for PSP eboot and it doesnt play.I realise that I need a dark alex 3,03... I dont know what is this.If I install this programme would I Have some problems with my console?It will brick?And when you are saying 'brick' what does it mean?it means that cannot turn off,reset the PSP etc. 3 months ago my PSP cannot turn off or reset etc and I pick up its battery.Today it works correctly! Answer soon please

1. What exactly doesn Devhook do?
2. Do you need fw 1.5 for it to work?
3. If you save dh on a memory stick, what happens if you use a new one, would you have to install it on the new memory stick?
4. Where the hell is the root of the memory stick? Do you just copy dh and/or the downgrader to the actual memstuck file in psp folder?

All the questions you asked are easily answered through a forum search. Forum rules ask that folks do a search before posting questions in order to avoid having the same basic questions posted over and over again. We have alot of very sharp, knowledgable people here but they get tired of holding the hands of people who are unwilling to try and find even basic information on their own.

when it freeze in the "please wait..." screen, it's because you need to change in the device hook menu in the option "other menu" the preload adress i think that the default option is 0x89000000 if it doesn't work try the others
when it freezes at the white *Ba'DiNg* psp screen,make sure that you have the "cpu clock" option set to default ,the "firmware" option set to 3.01 and the "boot mode " option set to xmb menu (then in the psp menu you go to the umd icon and hit x to start the game )
other problem can be that the game that you are trying to play may require a higher firmware than 3.01
there are a new version of device hook that emulates 3.11 ,just look in the previous page of this thread i posted a link , but follow juan2320 guide to install without flashing the files
or you follow the link that chanman1 posted for dark alex custom firmware
if you decide to install the new device hook or the custom firmware
before you install
in the device hook menu you should go to the option FLASH INSTALL and use the option "uninstall DH files from flash1" it's the 3rd option

mandem I do not have 3.03 with hen. so you try it and tell us.
deko10 dark alex 3.03 OE or 3.10 OE is not an app.(it's a FW you will update to)
If you brick your psp will not turn on.(so it will not work)
SOE337 you need to do some more searching and then come back here.(you need a 1.5 psp so you can do any of this)

i am sorry for writing in bold the thing is i have a 3.03 psp and is a ta-082 model i've already bricked my previous psp and i am scared of downgrading but i want to play homebrew and iso's on psp without downgrading So i just wanted to know if an application like devhook would work on 3.03hen which dosen't need to be downgraded i've searched on the net but with no avail if ne 1 finds out plz tell me

Hey guys, havn't posted in this forum in ages...Just curious as an update on the best of the best. Currently I still have a version 1.5 PSP and it is running a Devhook version capable of starting up at 2.71
I was just curious as to if there are any newer versions of Devhook which allows me to get version 3.0+ up and running? I kinda want to be able to have the updated version of the music player.
Oh and would this require me to flash my OS? I want to avoid that at all cost.

there is a newer vesion that emulates 3.0 something...i think its version .51, but there may be newer ones, idk, i don't use devhook

yes you can mate get the latest devhook or devhook 0.51 with 3.01 emulation, then your sorted. There's already alot of guides to get devhook.

hello everyone, im new here but not new to psp hombrew and whatever. i have one problem. i installed devhook .52 perfectly, the only problem is my buttons don't work once i've started devhook. i know its not frozen because the video for my loaded umd is still playing, and also the devhook menu comes up. once i exit the devhook menu, i can no longer use my controls. any help would be much appreciated.
P.S. i have tried using the kprint option also, and that hasnt helped.
Edit:ok well i figured out how to play games, in the boot options, i just selected umd autorun instead of devhook menu with kprintf on. however i would still like some help on using my controls outside of the game, meaning the loaded fw's menu. also i know this is a bit off topic but i need a more permanent fix to my R button being stuck probelm. usually i take a screw driver and lift it up to relese the plastic off of the button otherwise it's continuosly being pressed.

hi everyone! the devhook 0.6h doesnt restart to reboot. tried to change the setting in others to 8900000... also tried XMB menu and clock speed to 266mhz there's no 222 in there. the firmware i used is 3.11,3.03,3.01. they all ended up the same. still wont restart to play the game. I had devhook 0.42 before and had no trouble with it. my psp FW is 1.50 does this matter? Im not sure if i installed the firmware right it always halt halfway i think. but it says there that it is done! and cannot log something like that. are the firmwares the big eboot.pbp files? size of 20mb+ ?
THanks a lot. Sorry for these questions btw, its been a year since i last updated/hack my psp. thanks.

i am trying to do the devhook "k" easy installer on my 2.71 ta-82, but i keep getting stuck on close to the last step. when i hit circle to save the files it says no files, then when i hit start the background says system settings are corrupted. Any help?
12.Back to your PSP,Hold the POWER button for 3-5secs then start it again.Now go to the "PHOTO" viewer of the XMB and enter in the folder "HEND" again.it will autoboot then go to "GAME" >>>> "Memorystick" and Run the Homebrew with the title "DEVHOOK0.51 BETA for 2.71"
13.Now u will be in a different devhook,do the settings
UMD SELECT : --Umd Disc-- (Do not place any umd inside,just select this option in the menu provided)
FIRMWARE : 3.02(MS or FLASH+MS)
CPU CLOCK : 222/111 (deflaut)
Boot Mode : DEVHOOK MENU
OTHER menu : UMD SFO VER FIX 2.00,
14.Go to "FLASH INSTALL".now read and do this carefully,in here Choose "install configfile to flash1:.after that u again will be in a dos mode lookalike.now over here press and hold the "O" button for 1secs and u will see it saving files
15.Now Click on start and wait.for about 5-15secs it depends on your memorystick speed,now u will be in 3.02. Press "HOME" button to take off the devhook menu.and do the firmware settings then go check your check you "system information" in system settings".
