Are you putting the high-TOC game in after you load with AR, then swapping with your backup?

So, you should:

1. Take out AR Max(CD is blue).

2. Put in high-TOC. Weight for CD to turn yellow. Press X. Cd turns purple.

4. Swap with whatever method you use. Press X.

5. If game did not load, check your burn methods. Maybe it's a bad disc.

Holla Ace have you got pictures on the cardboard and straw method yet? also i cant figure out the straw bit. i stick the 5cm piece of staw down and it seemed that there was enough space to go down for a 0cm piece of straw so i got a ten cm piece of straw and it stoppeed going down but the disk still wouldnt spin help!

Did you try cutting the straw in half lengthwise? Like that, you'll have only one layer of straw(should be pretty easy to put in like that). Remember, even if you have 1 layer, you should still flatten it with a heavy object. As for the pictures, I STILL didn't decide what digital camera to get and I don't know what kind of USB cable to get for my cell to transfer pictures to my computer.

it depends but it's probably because of your burn media or the speed you burn it at.

What brand of DVDs are you using and what's their maximum burn speed(4X, 8X, etc.)? Some brands use some sort of really cheap and crappy dye on their discs(mostly Memorex). Also specify if they're made in Japan, Taiwan, etc. Most Japanese media is better than those made in Taiwan.

Memorex is pure JUNK. Most of those discs use really crappy dyes(made by CMC Magnetics) that go bad after 6 months, most of the time, and will shorten the life of your PlayStation 2's laser. Use this thread to help you choose the right brand of DVDs: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/240341.

If you are on a Slim PS2 then it won't boot them off of a hard drive, it will off of a USB pen drive or a memory card but not a hard drive, it's one of the features not yet added to toxic.

thanks i was starting to think that was the case. can you help me load elfs on my mc i've gotten it to work with the mega pack but i wanna install other elfs cause most of the elfs on there are older versions. i tried intalling them from toxic just like i've done with the mega pack but when i'm promted to insert a cdrom containing an installation script it doesn't read the elf files from my computer it says invailid install script.

also if i run sms v 1.7 from my mc and partition a DivX movies on my hdd will i be able to load that movie off my hdd without the red screen of death if the program is running off my mc? i know it's a long shot and probably wont work i just wanted to see if anyone had any luck with it

Hey Ace i've found a nice short alternative method for exploiting the Fat Ps2's.

For Fat Ps2's Only!!!

PS2 DVD Backups:
(1) Boot AR2/GS2 disc 1.
(2) At the main screen, press the EJECT button to eject the CD tray.
(3) Replace the AR2/GS2 disc with an original PS2 DVD game, such as San Andreas.
(4) Close the CD tray (press EJECT again) and wait for about 30 seconds.
(5) Select START GAME, and then select WITHOUT CODES.
(6) Once the AR2/GS2 is asking to change the game disc, press
and HOLD the EJECT button till the RESET light changes from green to
FLASHING orange.
(7) The CD tray will now open and you can replace the DVD game with your backup copy.
(8) The CD tray will automatically close after about 5 seconds.
(9) Wait till the the power LED changes from orange to green again and press X now to start the game.

Now this is not my guide i didnt make this up off the top of my head. I got it from modchip.com They also have like 3 other alternatives and pictures!!! Here's the link http://modchip.com/ps2/ps2pnpmoddir.htm

It's not recommended. You can do it, but it puts unecessary stress on your PlayStation 2's laser. Stick to DVD-R or DVD+R(if you have a burner that supports booktyping).

I would say go with the memorex cuz they worked perfect for me. Try getting DVD-R though cause games work better on those. dunno y. DVD-RWs arent too good cuz dey stop working after like 5 games.

Sony all the way, but in DVD-R. Stay away form Memorex(I hate it when people say to get that, it's junk). They'll burn good, but then after a certain while, because of the crappy dye made by CMC Magnetics, it will start doing some weird things and crash here and there because the dye hardens. Remember to look for "Made in Japan" on the package. There's a good chance those have Taiyo Yuden dyes(the number 1 dye).
