HEY YEH thanks umm where can u get the external dvd burner from (LG). and if i purchase a wii game in asia like pirated and i have a mod chip will it work? because i here that wii games can play all regions thanks

You can't just go to a website and download games, you have to do it through a torrent program. There are several free torrent sites, search for them. However, it's difficult most of the time to get games that way as people don't have the motivation to seed properly, they'll just download the game and stop it to save bandwidth. Search for "wii tracker" in google and you will find several "member only" trackers that rule, but it can be difficult to get in, as membership is limited.

I am having trouble installing the .net framework 2.0 I keep getting the following error message:
ERROR 25015.Failed to install assembly
'C:\WINDOWS\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Microsoft.VisualBasic.Vsa.dll' because of system error: 8x80131107
Does anyone know what this means? I just did a system recovery and installed all the MS updates and Security Updates. This is my only hurdle I'm facing.

What? You just quoted my answer to your question! There is no laptop or external drive that can rip wii games. You have to buy a 5.25" internal drive and a 5.25" external enclosure!
Wiis cannot play all regions. PAL can play PAL and NTSC can play NTSC.

hey yeh but according to this site www.modsspace.com.au it says wii can play all region games , this is wot the man who chips the wii siad it can do this
- Run Wii originals
- Run Wii backups
- Run Wii games from different regions (originals and backups)!!
IS that right caus u said it arnt play diffrent regions but he said u cana wtf!

Not true. There are both laptop and external drives that rip. Before you start tearing into someone why don't you learn the facts yourself.

No mod chip I am aware of can do that. My wii is modded, and I know it won't play PAL because it's not compatible with my tv. The screen turns black.

My Wii and my TV are both from the North American market (NTSC-U) and I can play all region games (NTSC-U, NTSC-J & PAL) if I enable the region override in the WiiKey settings. Now this is not to say that all foreign games will work. Check here to see the compatibility list:

I guess as far as you playing PAL games, you just aren't playing ones that will work.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can someone give me a site that lets me buy a LG 8164B or whateva it is for burning wii games for less than $50 i've been searching foreva and even newegg doesn't have them please please please or if any one of you guys has like a spare one or doesn't want one any more i'll be happy to buy it.
also is there a site that lets you download wii games and not pay like $30 a month on stupid fees any help is good help.

Hey all i just ordered a LG (well 2 actually) from here.

Hey yeh go to btjunikes.org or mininova.org and downlaod utorrent and then download the games fromt the site LOOK FOR THE ONES WITH HIGH HEALTH AND SEADS!!! LEACHERS R BAD U want one wit less!!

Great guide, but im stuck at the iso burning, Nero only lets me burn at slowest of 4x, is that slow enough?
Im using an LG GSA-H22L (LightScribe)

now i know all this talk about the LG drives being the only ones that can dump the games but i experimented with my factory dvd drive and it reads HL-DT-STDVD-ROM GDR8161B0100 in the raw dump window as the drive im using. It has dumped 2 games now both at the required size, i have not yet burned them for my burner is still being shipped. I guess my question is: Did i actually get lucky and my factory drive (not an LG) is working for this process or am i gonna have problems when burning the game since im not using an LG. Furthermore, would it even dump the game if the drive wasnt compatable?

For the record I haven't seen one post that said that this is a success.. you need to install the "WiiKey" into your Wii in order for this to work..

aight guys
Basically i'm having problems with getting games to be read by my wii console. I have :
Wiikey-with the 1.9b(not G) + the wii setup disc 1.3(region override ON)
All of this installed correctly...after reading these forums.
For getting the game i download the game in this case 'resident evil 4' from any torrent site. After this is downloaded it comes in .rar file, i unzip this and it becomes a .iso file. Frm this i burn the image with imgbrn and the disc is done being 4.37gb. I don't understand why this isn't working. I am using a dvd-r at speed 4x and tried it twice. It isn't working as all that is happening is when i click on the disc on the wii menu it just spins and spins.... not saying anything....
Although someelse gave me a burned spiderman 3 wii game and this worked no problem...
I'm quite confused...:S
Pllleeeaaasseee help it's really frustrating!

If you have had success with another Wii game and not the Resident Evil 4 you downloaded, then the problem is probably with that game. It could either be a bad rawdump on the ripper's part (or incomplete too). Try another game (or the same game using a different torrent) and try that.
