Just Try To Download Other Games and try to burn and a slower speed to prevent mistakes on the disk like 2x. And For the record you only need the certain dvd drives to copy the games to your computer correct?

Im using an LG GSA-H22L (LightScribe)
To be safe, I dwl'ed ImgBurn and that allowed me to burn at 2x and I get a perfect copy. Using Philips DVD-R16x LightScribes
*@ IllBdamd* HL-DT-STDVD-ROM is really made by LG, LG makes most the cd/dvd drives out there.

I am new to these forums, but it looks like some people are having a hard time finding a good price on the GDR-8164B drives. I just bought one here:
http://www.techmicro.com/product_p/gdr8164bk.htm
And they say they still have 190 in stock. Hope this helps some people.
My total price for it was $28.11
Code Item Qty Price Total
GDR8164BK 16X DVD,52X CD ROM Bulk/Black
1 $17.37 $17.37
Sub Total: $17.37
Tax: $0.00
Shipping: $10.74
Grand Total: $28.11

New to the board and was wondering what brand of Wiikey everyone is using. I have a new Wii and was wondering if any of the Wiikeys will work. I have heard about three of them and know there is a lot more out there. The three I know of are: WiiKey-D2CKey, WiiKey-Xeno-Wii ModChip, CycloWiz-Wii ModChip. Any preference or is one better than the other, or they just about the same? Also does anyone know of a reliable site to buy them from that would be a big help. Thanks for any info you might have.

Thanks for the reply connor02 so the Wiikey everyone is taking about is the "Official WiiKey Mod Chip With Hologram" Like this link from ConsoleSource.
Only thing is they don't ship to the US.

srockett,
Did you by any chance get refunded by Techmicro? I bought mine yesterday (1/3/08) and they cancelled my order saying the drives were backordered.
Does anyone know where to get the LG drives at a good price?

you can get the chip installed at MOD MONTREAL (search google) and if you want to download the backups (because you don't have an LG drive) then you can get them at www.easynews.com (need to pay 10$/30gig, REALLY fast downloads 850kbps)

If you know what craigslist is, that is good way to find a installer.
That is how I find one in my area.

Ok, I found a place that has the GRD-8161B for $29 total price.
They say they still have 34 on hand.

Does it matter that it does not specify that it's an LG? It seems to be an HP/Compaq item. :$

I thought that as long as it is a grd-8161b it would work, since LG makes the dvd for a lot of different companies. If you want to wait a couple of days, I can let you know once I get mine.
