I bought the LG drive.
Used Rawdump to rip the wii game in the LG drive.
Then with Nero and my Plextor DVD Burner (not the lg drive) I burned the image. 4x Sony DVD-R
It works perfectly.
Read the first post people!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats! Glad to hear another success story. I myself have installed only 2 so far and both were without any problems.. I have I believe 3 more to do as soon as he chips arrive. I use of course the LG-Rom and use a Lite-on burner with Verbatim -R's at 8x with no hiccups.. seems burns at 4x and sometimes 6x makes alittle more clanking noises as opposed to 8x. I guess everybody has different burn rates w/different burners. Oh and I use Imgburn 2.3.0.0.
Verbatim is actually the exception to the recent rule. You should try burning these at slower speeds.

Are there any drives that can read AND burn wii games? I don't have a dvd-burner, and (if possible) I'd like to buy one drive capable of reading the Wii discs and burning them rather than buying two drives (the specified drive to read and then any drive to burn).

Nope, the only drive that reads wii disk is the LG thats listed. And its a read only drive, not a burner

As I stated earlier, I get less of a clanking noise when I burn at a higher rate with Verbatim (8x as oppose to 6 & 4x) it all seems smoother at 8x. Haven't tried higher than 8x as I am happy at that.
There are alot of variables within ones system, people just have to try different rates and go with what they are comfortable with.

Hi, I have made a backup of some wii games, but I can't burn them at less than 4x. I bought the verbatims DVD-R and it says on the box that it can be burned at 1-16x. Someone else had this problem?

If you're verbatims have a max speed of 16, I would burn these at 8. Usually with verbatims about half speed is what you want to shoot for.

Rawdump is using a modified LG 816xB firmware inside of the program to dump the raw information. Unless your duplicator can run off the LG 816xB firmware it won't work.
As far as the mac problem:

Looks like a no go also.

Dude it doesn't take 4-6 weeks, are you crazy? What kind of internet do you have? And no 4.7GB is not a whole lot.

I just backed up my first game (Tony Hawk which is amazing by the way) and it works great! Do I need to use mini dvd's to backup my GC games onto? Or is there a way to put GC games on regular dvd's like the Wii?

For those of you worried about burn speeds and media, i use TDK 16x DVD-R (found at costco, best buy, future shop, etc). I burn at 16x with a pioneer DVR-108, and have no problems whatsoever. All games (~8 or so) that i've downloaded work perfectly. If you're worried about making coasters, spend the money and get a good brand of media like Verbatim (like what everyone is saying) or TDK.

Doesn't matter. Make sure you set whatever IDE channel you're going to be on to PIO only mode, this will stop a lot of .Net errors. If you're ever going to be burning something on the fly (like a ps2 game) you want to have your devices on seperate IDE cables, otherwise you could even put the burner and the LG on the same cable.

How to set to PIO only in XP:
Control Panel->System->Hardware Tab->Device Man->IDE Controlers
->which ever IDE channel you're on->right click-> properties
->advance settings tab->transfer mode (for device)

If a GC game is about 1.4 Go, is there any way to burn three games on only one dvd?
