Ok, here is a good one for you masterminds to crack. I cannot get select PSX games to play on my PSP. The games I am having problems with all have been reported to play on the PSP... Anyways, here is what I am working with: I have three homebrew PSPs (two phats, one slim) The phats are running 5.00 M33-4, the slim is running 4.01 M33. I have 16 memory cards, most of them are 16 gig cards, and I found out are fakes (ebay). I have about 5 Regular (real) 1 and 2 gig sticks. Now, here is my prob. I CANNOT get a few of my PSX games to play. I have successfully ripped 83 games, with about 15-20 that show up as corrupt data. The four I am most concerned about are Final Fantasy IV, V & VI, and Chrono Trigger. They simply will not play! I have heard it could be the fake sticks, so I installed them on real sticks. I have heard it could be a bad disc dump, so I have re-ripped them (using Alchol 120%). I have heard it could have been a bad eboot from the GUI Popstation, so i have re-built the eboot (two programs, PSX2PSP 3.0 and reg Popstation GUI 1.9)... yet still... no dice.
The menu that I have assembled doesnt even play, its simpley the old dreaded broken image and corrupt data. I know the images are good, They boot fine on my PC emulator. I am out of ideas, I am not a noob to the PSP hacking, been doing it since the good ol' Hen days.. but I am turning for help this time.
Thanks!

@ Dexterdex :)
aahh wait I've got to update the PSARdumper :)
This PSARdumper only works till 3.90m33 firmwares :)
I found an updated PSARdumper which I will link you to later this day :)
@ katgar060 :)
The same reply as above, but this time I'll give you a dl.qj.net link or a PSP-hacks link :)
Juz bear for a little time :)
@ gapstone >.<
You're problem is with the PSX conversion tool itself IMO >.>
I think most probably because you are using an older version of "PSX - PSP" conversion tool, you need the "Keys.bin" file :)
Try using THIS converter [Download the 3.00 beta version]
By using this converter, you need not have the Keys.bin file :)
Juz convert and put the game in your PSP :)
@ mcjmatic :)
Thanx for complementing my guide ^_^
EDIT : @ Nikko92 :)
You need a custom firmware to use popslaoder and 5.02 hasn't been custom firmwared yet :)

Ok, I downloaded the new version (I was also running the Simple popstation 2.9, previously) The first game I re-made the eboot for was Final Fantasy IV. It worked. Then I re-made Final Fantasy V, & VI. They still do not work. It still says corrputed Data. I noticed this new program doesnt make a keys.bin file, that wtill confuses me... do we need it, or not? Some of my games give me the error code 00000005, which I learned was due to a missing key.bin?
I tested the .img files once more in my pc emulator, they do work, without a doubt. I am suprised that this new beta version made FF4 work, but I am still super confused.
You have to be one of the smartest people about this subject online, so if anybody can figure out my problem it has to be you. Thanks!

Well I'm having trying to popsloader to work.I'm running 5.00 M33-4.I've extracted the 3.72 and 3.71 files and renamed them. Both of them give me a 8002013C error code whenever I try to run any ps1 game.Since that error code seems to be pretty rare, any idea on what I should do then?

you have popsloader and all the popsman###.prx files in the right locations on your ms stick? and you have added ms0:/seplugins/popsloader.prx 1 yo your pops.txt? and made sure its enabled in plugins in the recovery menu? you dont need to do pandora again just recheck that you have installed everything correctly or download the pre-made popsloader pack in my signature

i'm a little confused. i've got a 2000 hacked with 3.71 m33. i stuck seplugins under the root directory with the properly labeled pops files, put my eboot of ffiv that i got in the iso directory...and it still won't load. it just keeps saying 'corrupted data'.
any ideas as to why it might be doing this? i don't have a playstation at this time, so i really want to be able to play my old games!

is popsloader.prx in ms0:/seplugins/popsloader.prx or ms0:/seplugins/popsloader/popsloader.prx, make sure pops.txt has the correct location else it wont show up, if after you varify its in the right location and still isn't showing you can try formatting/resetting your flash1 from the recovery under advanced and possibly format your memory card after backing it up so that you can start from fresh and be sure data being currupt is not an issue
also i recommend you upgrade your firmware...there are alot of lazy people that find it easier to stay on old firmwares because all they want are the free isos and have no reason to upgrade...i get that, but in your case if you plan on running psx games even better you should upgrade your firmware to the latest 5.00 m33-4 and you can download the latest popsloader in my signature

First of all, sorry guys for the late reply :(
Afterdawn pages were not loading properly for me and plus, I have got my exams to add to the pressure :(

@ gapstone :)
In the converter I gave you, no need for the Keys.bin file >.>
Although putting the Keys.bin file will not cause any problem :)
And well, your problem with Final Fantasy 6 and 7 are wierd >.>
If it's a "corrupt data" then it has no relation to popsloader itself >.>
I think most probably it is a bad rip
Have you played the entire FF 6 and 7 game on the PC emulator ???
I mean all the levels ??? :)
Cuz may be sometimes if the file is damaged somewhere in the middle, then the PC must not be executing that part until you reach that aprt >.>
While as in the case of the PSP, you're converting the whole file and any problem in the rip will lead to a bad conversion :)
@ katgar060
That's cuz the popsloader is not programmed to execute those pops :)
We'll have to wait for an updated popsloader :)
@ Lefen
0x8002013c = Library not found.
Which, I guess, means that the popsloader couldn't find the files for the pops you are trying to load >.>
I mean you are trying to load 3.71 pops but the 3.71 pops isn't actually there >.>
Also, try putting the "impose.prx" which you can get from decrypting the 4.01 firmware in the popsloader folder :)
@ ShaggyZE

Ok, so i also have a problem.
I'm running 3.73 m33, i've followed all the directions here, as well as Larrylje's guide that a lot of people are using. And I'm still getting no response.
I'll go into the recovery menu and enable popsloader. When i go to select my game, i don't get a "first time" menu of what i want to do. And when i hold the right trigger to bring up the menu i get nothing either.
It doesn't help that i'm testing it out with Breath of Fire IV.
The problem with it is that everything i get to the capcom logo, i get a white screen and music playing and that's it. And i know a decent amount of people have had the same problem.
Is there anyway you can help?

since you have the popsloader under plugins of the recovery menu its safe to say that pops.txt but since you not getting the firmware screen for initial start and when holding the trigger your probably missing one of the prx files like impose.prx if you running the latest custom firmware 5.00 like you should be you can get the latest popsloader and all its files in my signature

Plus I have noticed that many "popsloader problems" [i.e problems like the menu not appearing even if the plugin is enabled etc.] occur if your memory stick is fake =_=
So I would recommend that you use an original memory stick :) I got this to work on my real memory stick just fine, but then i tryed it on my micro sd produo after draging over every single file from the real one, and it still wont work.
why is that?

Hi guy,
im having some problem with running popsloader.
it just basically freezeswhen i choose 3.71 from the menu to play final fantasy VII
i have done a search and all that people seem to be saying is that i didnt follow the installaion correctly but i have done it 3 time now and it still wont work.
heres what i did:
-im runnin 3.90 m33-3
-downloaded popsloader 3.80v2, put seplugins in root
-downloaded psardumper and put it under game in psp
-downloaded the eboot for 3.71 firmware update from the link provided in the guide by acidy, placed it under root.
-started the dump, successfullly finished,
-moved the 4 files from the f0 folder into seplugins and put 371 on the end.
-enabled popsloader from recovery
-played the game and chose 3.71 from menu and it just freezes there.
what am i doing wrong?
the psx compatibility guide says that ff7 will work on 3.71 pops
any help will be much appreciated,
Mubs

you can try dumping more firmwares like 3.80 and see if you get better results but if i was you i would update your cfw to 5.00 m33-6 and download the latest popsloader and all the firmwares with it which i have in my signature that way your completely up to date and you can try running it in any of the supported firmwares with popsloader

yes but ff7 should work on 3.71, it says so in the compatibility guide, and also multiple anicdotal reviews
its not a case of the game not working, it works fine until i go into a battle. its just popsloader, it freezes even before the game is loaded.
if i can only work out how to make it work.
another thing is that im abit of a newbie, i dont even know how to upgrade the cfw lol.
i could learn of course but from my angle it looks like i need to sort out popsloader and that should fix it,
