alright here's my delema... i have a modded psp with 5.00m33-6 (the newest version) i just updated today (1/27/09) i did everything you told me to in your guide but there's one part i'm confused about
"Put the "seplugins" folder that you got from the downloaded file to the ROOT of your PSP memory stick :)"
when the link you provided for the 5.00m33 doesn't include a seplugins folder... to solve this i just downloaded the 3.8 3.9 and 4.04 and used that seplugins folder... not a big deal... anyway after i downloaded the pops file (for lazy people =] ) and put it in K/psp/seplugins/popsloader folder...
i activated it by going into the recovery mode... anyway i start up my game (vagrant story) and on 5.00m33-6 it stats up and then goes to a "now loading" screen and thats where it stays...
i've tried all of the pop versions and most of them just give me this screen
http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s222/zachman10613/CIMG1590.jpg
(the game could not be started. (8002013C) )
and if the pop doesnt give me that it just freezes my psp on the pops version page... please help me out... so many games i want to play =[

you are getting that error because your missing impose.prx or another one of the library files like (pops401.prx, popsman401.prx etc.) try downloading the popsloader in my signature, it will have all the files you need

yes i do..
Most people don't upgrade because they don't want to run into problems like homebrew not working anymore but the thing is they always make new versions of the best homebrews with better code and features or they don't upgrade because a friend modded their psp and they never learned how easy it is to really do.
Whichever the case updating to the latest firmware, homebrew and plugins is the best way to solve problems and then by getting tutorials, packs or videos from experience geeks out to help or provide a scene release it makes getting updated a lot easier without much effort at all.
So you may want to check a guide or video on how to update your custom firmware or look in my signature since you can get official firmwares, custom firmwares, and the latest popsloader with all the firmwares included already. you might even want to check out cxmb 3.3 with the 30 ctf themes while your at it.
also incase you don't already know www.pspupdates.com is the best place i've found to stay up to date with a wide variety of psp news or find the latest homebrew to update too and www.themespot.com for ctf's

you could download the latest poploader from my signature that includes everything, that should fix it.
the files you have now would only let u use 3.40 firmware with popsloader which most psx games won't work on anyway.

ok mate i d/loaded one from ur sig and installed that but i still got the same issue..no popsloader menu :( still not working mate sorry im probs been really dense...but u are right its got all firmwares there in popsloader folder and stuff but still no menu...what is wrong with my psp :(
see i know seplugins is in rightplace cos i enabled popsloader in recovery so i cant understand why poploader isn't working. i get not eventhe standard msg that i used to get b4 when i used it whenever i start up a psx game. it just goes striaght to game..then freezes on opening FMV...
so do u think that updating to 5.00 m33-6 will solve my propblem?

well you could try updating to the latest cfw 5.00 m33-6 as well as going into recovery menu and format flash0 and reset all settings, also you can try backing up your memory stick and formatting it these are the things the usually fix issues like this oddly enough

since popsloader is working now its just a matter of holder R when launching the game and trying a few of the firmwares to get it to load to the menu, if none of them work chances are its the way the psx eboot was converted so you can either rip it to an iso and convert it to an eboot with autopopstation 4 or find someone who has a confirmed working version of the eboot, you can also update to the latest, might as well since it has an optional option to read from the memory stick faster now though it probably won't help the problem at hand.

you said popsloader was working and showed up at the beginning of the psx game so i assumed it was indeed working, if nothing happens when you hold R then you can't switch the popsloader firmwares and that means its actually not working right, if you have too many plugins installed some won't load so remove all the plugins in vsh.txt and game.yxy and just enabled popsloader in pops.txt and is you plugins enabled under Advanced>Advanced configuration in the recovery menu?

i have turned on plugins in recovery menu yes. when i say popsloader works i mean i get the blue writing just after clickin on psx game. wot i mean is pushing R does not give me a menu. is there some specific setting im supposed have in recovery (other than enabling popsloader)that will enable the popslaoder menu? all i wanna do is get this working so i cn play some of my favourite ol d psx games but its giving me a headache.usually i can sort an issue like this by just researching on net but im not having ANY luck at all with this. Thanx for all ur help to this point shaggy tho mate i know it takes up ur on personal time and i appreciate ur help.

Hi there :) I seem to have the same problem stated by SerekLaw.
I have downloaded the full package and have it on the root of the psp memory card. Something like this:
X:SEPLUGINS
es_recovery.txt
pops.txt
popsloader.prx
popsloader\...(all those .prx)
Every time I launch a ps1 game, the popsloader menu doesn´t appear, even when I press R trigger (popsloader is enabled on the recovery menu).
This happened to me when I was using 5.00 M33-4 and I updated it to 5.00 M33-6 and the same problem persists.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks :)

well i made a thread about this but got redirected here,
First i know there are many threads about this, and i also made threads with the same problem, but no one replies... :( if someone can just give me directions or helpful advice to get PSX games running on my PSP i will be very grateful.
1. i am running 3.71 m33-4 with 1.50 subset installed.
2. i download the 3.71 m33-4 poploader plugins the lazy way, so i dont need to rename anything right?
3. well since the prx files are renamed all for me, i dont have to go though the newspardumper process, do i now?
4. then i drag the seplugins to the root of my memroy card
5. i go to recovery mode to enable poploader
6. i get hold of a eboot, say driver, metal gear solid, klonoa etc put them in the psp/game/eg.klonoa etc/eboot.
7. go to my psp game menu, the eboot appears with all its glory of custom themes and icons. i press on the eboot, the disclaimer notice comes up.
8, then this is the bit i cant get passed...the screen goes blank returns to xmb, than says " game couldnt be started (8000004) " along with sometimes other number varietys.
9. i tried every poploader by holding R when booting the game from 3.01 to 3.72 to original from flash same problem.
10. i change various kernel settings from 3.71 to 1.50 still the same, i tried no umd to sony no umd vice versa, still problem. all adavnce options disable still problem
11. or if i done some settings wrong on the recovery menu, can someone tell me exact settings to run the eboot.
12. did i miss a step? or doing something wrong?, i will greatly appericiate help.
13. before you say try different eboots, well i told you i tried diffferent games all do the same.
please someone give me help and directions so i can finally play PSX games on my PSP. Thanks in Advance

Anyoone else that had similar issue to me i have sorted my problem now and i'll explain wot i did.
*My firmware was 5.00 m33-4. I updated firmware to m33-6.
*I then formatted my mem stick
*If you check Shaggy's links u will find latest popsloader update which i d/loaded. (thx shaggy)
*Install popsloader as usual but keep all the old firmware dumps seperate for install.SO cut paste all but daxheaparea.prx and idcanager_old.prx and move into a created folder on desktop.
*Once seplugins folder is transferred (minus the above sed files)then shut down psp. Restart and hold R to get into recovery. In plugins enable popsloader.
*upon restart reconnect the psp to pc and transfer all old firmware files from desktop folder to the popsloader folder within seplugins.
*Shut down psp. Upon restart click on any psx eboot and when warning screen appears( b4 ps logo) hold R and list of popsloaders should menu should appear. Hope this works for anyone else that had this issue.
And thanx to shaggy for all ya help.
