Herrick: I just thought I would pass on a new way I have of making dvd covers. I scan the originals, save them to a flash drive and then take the flash drive to my computer with the epson R320, save the cover to a file used by my epson printer and take it from there. It is really easy and makes a perfect copy of the original.

Hello once more.
A question: It seems that DVD+ are soemhow better than DVD-? This seems to have gone by me somehow. As of some time ago, DVD- were just a bit more compatable than DVD+. Some one please bring me up to date on this subject. Many thanks to all and keep up the good work

some say the DVD plus R are better than the DVD dash R I'm NOT convinced. you can booktype with the DVD+R to DVD-ROM making that format more compatible however. heres an articile comaparing the two formats

maybe i am misunderstanding. are they phasing out ALL the 8x and making 16x valulines?

frbernard- novel approach but unless ones computer & printer are not connected either via a printer cable ? ( antique Older printers ) a USB cable More recent& likely or By a network connection -( ethernet cable or wireless ) one could just as easily scan the cover to your HDD then use undercoverXP to print it ! You might also have to crop your image a little but often even that ain't needed ! you can also download covers from many sites such as Mega-search.net ect... But I'm Probably preaching to the Choir here anyways ! Thanks for your input and whatever works do it that's what i say !!! Ciao!!!!

greensman- I hear ya! It could be Worse though ? he could end up Living in a Van Down by the river LOL!!!!!!!!!!!! For Bratcher To Quote the Greensman "NOTHING but if you're gonna use the printables with a Sharpie then why not SAVE $10 and get the shiny tops?? Just curious.... :P" If your going to do sharpie on them The Silver Shiny's =Taiyo Yudens Thermal Lacquers are Just Fine for them !!!! Any Color works about the same But I generally Just use Black Most of the time as it shows up well against the silver label surface . I sometimes use red as well mainly on Vampyre Movies to give the crude illusion of Blood drops or splatter ! if you like using the printables with a sharpie there's nothing wrong with that other than your spending extra money !!!! I'm pretty firmly in the sharpie camp ! I can lightscribe but the media is expensive and the image although detailed is still monochrome !I have nothing against The epson & cannon Printers that can do printable disc but Then I have to get a new printer & I alredy have an all in one Epson Cx-7800 that works great ! Maybe I'll get something like a 580 model which does everything that my current printer does but also CD'S & dvd's !!! one day with a Continuos ink system so I don't burn through the ink so fast !! But then again I have lot's of silver shiny's & branded disc & lot's of sharpies so it may be awhile ? Still Bratcher if it works for you and you don't mind spending extra then rock on lil'buddy !!!!!!!!!
