@greensman...If you want to go bin rumbling, i live in coventry uk!!I already use the 80 wired round cables, but ill try another.That link was good reading re new burners and immature firmware, but how strange that the 111 has the same problems.My main grief at the moment is that all of the firmwares ive downloaded wont find my drive....everyone shouts 'target not found'.I also cant get onto tdb site....what i think ill do is wait till the wekend and strip my pute.I aint gonna let it beat me!!

DANG that's a long trip for a dumpster dive. LOL. Texas ain't all that close to anyone. hehehe.
Yeh I had some serious problems with a mobo just a month or so ago. It seemed to run just fine and wouldn't put out a decent backup for crap. Some of my friends here and on DVDHounds helped me find the problem and then even helped me find a decent mobo to replace what I had. Good fellows here and over there. :)
I think a visit to TDB website might shed some light on something. I tried to check it earlier and it was down as well as one of the other f/w haunts I visit. Weird but it should be up and runnin some time soon. :) Just checked it again and it's still down. :-(
Good to see that you don't give up easily, cause your gonna need that determination and tenacity to go thru your puter. LOL. Let us know how it's coming and maybe you might even post something in the building forum or maybe something on the website I linked you too on the last post.
Sorry that I really couldn't solve anything for you but I tried, really I did. ;-) Hopefully it's just a firmware thing and will "fix" on it's own, cause like I said, "I got one of these things coming too". hehehe.

Texas panhandle huh. Lot of it has the same geography/landscape as we do here. Some of it even drier (if that is even possible). Amarillo is about 250 miles from me.

So that means that we could get together in less than 3.5 hours if we started driving toward each other at the same time at an average speed of 60 mph or higher. ROFL. Is that a math problem or what? hehehe.
Just to stay somewhere near to TOPIC. ;-)
I watched School for Scoundrels last night on a TYG03 (posted the scan of it on the Nero scan thread) and it played beautifully. No pixels, skips, freezes, or anything noticeable on a 32" Flatscreen TV. Pretty happy with the new mobo and how she's performing. Yeah!!! Never had a doubt about the Litey optical drives or media just FYI. :)

Lived in Midland when I was 3. Had my tonsils out in Lubbock because my parents didn't trust the Midland medical facilities of 1949. We couldn't even drink the water. Lots of sand and tumbleweeds! LOL

well, its only the first round anyways. tomorro's quarter final only brocast on espnu whatever that channel is. semi is on saturaday at espn2 at 1.00ct and 3.20. final is at 2.00ct on sunday at espn.
it'll be great final if its kansas vs aggies.
you jayhawks have pretty good season. but i think the aggies will go on and win and probally go all the way to least to round of 32 or possibly even sweet 16.

I'm actually more KSU fan than KU fan but KU's basketball program has almost always been better than KSU's so I find myself rooting for the hawks during b-ball season.
Now football thats an entirely different story. Go cats. BTW Midland is pretty desolate. Much rather live here in SW KS. Sorry to veer of topic.

Sorry you're having such difficulties. ;-)
Here's the first burn on my new Pioneer DVR-112D flashed to a DVR-112L with TDB f/w and a scan of the burn with the LITE-ON LH-18A1P. Media used TY YUDEN T02 (Sony DVD+R 8X)
112L_806 f/w used and flashed within the last 1.5 hours, this drive is fresh out of the box. I guess that I'm just lucky when it comes to getting the good drive. ;-)

Rob you is so dang funny. hahaha. Didn't really intend for that to be aimed at you but since you brought it up, I guess it is. lol. Kinda at poor pieman since he's had the same problems that you did with the 2 Litey's you suffered thru, but with 2 Pioneer's.
btw THANKS for the FAT shaking laugh. Had to go and hit the big sales this evening for diapers and quick foods for the kiddies. At least I didn't have to endure WALLY_WORLD tonite. :P

So how many drives have you gone thru since your not being able to get the BenQ 1650s? I now see how lucky I was. I really don't think I would like to be trying to choose a drive at present. I thought the Liteys were good drives. Seems everything's going down hill after X16s were made.

ive tried 2 of the 18x litey's and sent them back. i think with time they would have learned the media, but hell ive wasted about 25 8x+r TY's how many more do i need to lose? dont get me wrong i did get about 5 disc that did burn aand were awsome.
now im hearing from some that have the pioneer dvr-112d is haven the same problem with TY media. Idont know what to think/do. i mean i dont really need another drive, but hey everyone wants a new toy..lol
Ive been reading at The Dangerous Bros site about the firmware updates. is that site for real or is it just a bunch of hackers makeing patches that might work? i dont know enough about this to do a firmware update and it lock my system up.

I don't know about that site either. I would be leary about firmware tho. May be a Plextor is the cure you need. Seems that would be my choice if I were looking, a bit pricey, but hey if they work!

ive been thinking of one of those plextors alot for a long time now but i just cant get myself to spend that kind of money..lol i know they are probably the best there is period. but guess im too cheap..or my 3 sons take all my extra cash.. :)

The Dangerous Brothers are some good lads.....Some of the stuff on the website is in beta form and might be a little scary but someone's gotta try it right!! I got my f/w from there and have gotten a couple in the past with ZERO problems.
Honestly it's just like any other f/w update; no other progies runnin, no disc in drive, and don't screw with anything while it's going. I was a little hesitant at first but remembered what docTY told me once, "It's easy and I've done it many, many times so it doesn't bother me anymore." OR something like that. LOL. Basically don't be scared he said. hehehe.
I've burned another TY with the Pioneer 112L and it's pretty good again. I'll post it here and in the scan thread so everyone can see it and have their own take on things. :-)
TYG02 burned on the Pioneer 112L at 8X, pretty good stuff here gentlemen and ladies [if you show that is....;-)]
