I seem to be a bit confused. Your guide is great and easy to follow, but I still seemed to have messed up somewhere. I followed all steps exactly (well, I decided to download all the "3.00 - 3.72 pops" files in one go cause I am a bit lazy that way) and everything in enabled, but I cannot figure out how to actually play the PSX games. I have Suikoden II on my memory stick in .iso form in the ISO folder (tried to put it in a few other folders just in case, even the X:\seplugins\popsloader folder, but no luck). What exactly am I doing wrong here?

you have to convert your iso to EBOOT in order to play it on the psp and then put i your psp/game folder not iso folder

Thankkksssss Acidy!!!!!
You just save my life!! (my psp gaming life actually)hehe... Been trying for almost a month to play psx games without success....upgraded from 3.8 to 3.9 just because saw a friend using it to play psx's games, but then still cannot. He says it's all playable straight from the box, but i never knew that it needs to have plugins. So that;s why there's nothing inside the plugins list on recovery mode...huhu....

hey zackff. you have to have custom firmware to run any type of homebrew or play games off your mem stick. search the forums to find out how to install CFW on your psp. im a noob at this too, but i was able to do it fairly easily. the hardest part was making the pandora batt because i didnt know anybody with a hacked psp. i had to hardmod my own batt then go buy a new one for regular use. do alot of research before you start modding. good luck!

Thanks so much!!!
I JUST got my PSP modded and don't know ANYTHING about ANYTHING to do with it. I am not a major computer person either. I was able to get it all figured out. At first when I followed the instructions the .prx files didn't even show up. And then I tried the "lazy" way and downloaded them and copy and pasted and that didn't work either (my screen froze at the beginning of the game) it wasn't until I put the whole seplugins in my PSP that it actually worked.
HURRAH!! You are my hero of the day and now I can play FFVII!!
So I thought you might like to know that your instructions were useful to a total neophyte!!!

You'll have to use the pandora battery hack :)
Use THIS guide if you have another PSP with a custom firmware :)
Use THIS guide if you do not have another PSP with a custom firmware :) [You'll have to buy a 'datel tool'/pandora battery for this one though]

@ ladygamr :)
hehe :P
Thanx :)

every time i psardumb any firmware, at least one file is always missing. for 372, lilpspmvc.prx was missing. for 371, it worked, but that pops didn't help. 3.03 is missing pafmini.prx. ugh this is driving me insane, i wanna play ff9. can i get any help?

But they all do sort of the same thing, and that is rearrange what you thought was real, and they remind you of the beauty of very simple things. You forget, because youre so busy going from a to z, that theres 24 letters in between... You turn on... tune in... and you drop out...

Hey Acidy!

Guide looks pretty good, especially for a complete noob like me ^^'

I'm having some trouble though...I'm quite sure that I've followed the guide perfectly...I have cfw 3.90mm and so I downloaded the Popsloader for 3.80mm, that you linked. Being lazy, I downloaded the complete Pops batch files and I placed it in the correct folder on my PSP.

I have FFVII Eboot on my memory stick, and it shows up in the GAME section of my PSP. I start it up and the Popsloader menu comes up, but every single version that I try doesn't work. I tried 3.71 and 3.72 repeatedly (since everyone says it works) but with 3.72 all I get is a black screen, and after a few seconds my PSP just shuts off. With the 3.71 one, it only loads up to the PS1 logo and then it freezes :( The only "version" that works is the flash one, but then that glitches all crazy-like during the first battle. :'(

As I said before, I'm quite sure that everything's in the right spot, I've tried installing Popsloader several times over and over again...but it's all to no avail :( Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks friend! ^^

Hey, I'm a total beginner at all this, but I've managed to download and unpack all the bits and pieces needed but when it says to go onto the 'game' menu on your actual psp nothing is coming up? Can anyone suggest what I may have done wrong. My psp is brand new, bought monday and I just got a 8gb memory card and iv been itching to do this all week!

I'm just a n00b
