AnyDVD just updated to 6.2.0.1 - update it if you haven't already.
There's also DVDFab HD Decrypter which is listed in this thread as working on this one.

Kevinfan, did you ever have any luck? I'm getting the exact same "Out of Memory" error message using latest version of FabDVD and Shrink.

Do Full DVD with FixVTS on the DVDFab ripped files, then open the FixVTS processed files in Shrink. Run Deep Analysis before trying to transcode.

Unfortunately, no success. Encountered the same problem during encoding at 34%. Error still says:
"DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue. Out of memory. The paging file is too small for this operation to complete."
Fortunately, I haven't had any issues with any other backups.
I downloaded FixVTS 1.603, did the Full DVD mode on the files ripped by DVDFab 4.0.1.0., opened the FixVTS processed files in Shrink. Ran Deep Analysis and attempted to burn.
FabDVD indicated the rip was o.k., but maybe there was a problem with it.

There was some difficult structural protection that caused some software problems. I did this release 2 different ways, both in Full DVD. I used RipIt4Me 1.7.1.0. That one gave me a disc error when I opened it on the standalone player. Using play on the remote, the disc opened and played the movie perfectly. RI4M obviously didn't get all the protection off. I suspect if you ripped movie only or movie with menus, RipIt4Me may not give the same disc error I saw. I can't be sure because I didn't try those methods after getting the full DVD successfully with AnyDVD and a couple other programs. Usually a lot of the copy protection is hidden in the extras.
The second way I did Rat was with AnyDVD + DVD Decrypter (CSS OFF) + FixVTS (Full DVD). The last method worked perfect. I removed nothing but foreign languages and all extras played the way they were supposed to. You'd need AnyDVD for that process though.

Everyone should OWN AnyDVD. The cost of 2 movies and is on sale now. The combo of AnyDVD and DVDFabDecrypter(free) are two must have programs IMHO. They will open up all the options in the types of programs you want use.

That's an excellent point. If people are serious about doing the new releases immediately, they should have as many tools as they can get. They may also want to check out the manual method of using DVD Decrypter with protected sector lists. That one takes some work, but I've not heard of any releases that can't be done with it. Due to the learning curve, a lot of people leave it alone. Usually if a person waits, either Slysoft or Fengtao will get the software updated.

Originally posted by TheBrave1: This worked for me using the latest version of DVDFAB,DVDShrink and CloneDVD.
1. Rip movie to hard drive using DVDFAB
2. Open DVDshrink . Instead of clicking 'open disk', click 'open file'.
3. Open the dvdfab file that you saved to your hard drive
4. Click 'Backup' and make sure you DISABLE video preview
5. Save the new backup to your desktop under a NEW name
6. Open 'CloneDVD' and click 'Write Existing Data'.
7. Click the NEW file on your desktop.
8. Burn and Voila
9. Hope this helps to those who were stuck like me.
Well, it appears I was successful in using TheBrave1's method above. No more out of memory message from Shrink and it appears the movie is playing error free.
Thanks TheBrave1 for posting your successful method and doing so in a clear easy to understand way!

at this point i think whoever's having problems w/ripping or backing up movies w/dvdfab or anydvd has to check their pc's , burners or any other hardware or software that might be conflicting w/the process.
i see most difficulties w/full disc. that's a personal preference, but do you really need all those extras that take away from the quality of the burned copy?
i just finished 2 copies of worlds end.
my formula again:
1. rip w/dvdfab movie only:out put file set.
2. compress w/shrink
3. build and burn w/imgburn.
hasn't failed me.
my burners: pioneer 112d dvr; samsung s-s203b.
lot of burners incompatible w/lots of media. these 2 burn any thing. the samsung reads faster than my pioneer, but the pioneer burns at a steadier rate. both burn at more or less same speed chosen.
my media i burn at 8x as suggested.
p.s. i had to return a brand new lite-on aver a month ago. issues burning at 8x. it had good reviews also. but the thing you have to look 4 mostly is the compatibility w/blank media.
hope this is helpful.

I think the above is just a little to generic of a statement and if anyone is having problems with DVDFab and Shrink don't read the above and assume you must have a burner, media or PC issue.
Over the last couple years I have successfully backed up EVERY DVD I have attempted (used to use DvdDecrypter, Shrink and Nero and now use DvdFab, Shrink and Nero). Ratatuille is the first disc that game me a problem and after 4 attempts and using the FabBVD CloneDVD process described in this thread, I got one attempt to work with menus/full DVD.
Point is, if you are reading the above and thinking it must be your PC, burner, programs, etc. don't assume that is the case. Ratatuille is just a bitch to backup for whatever reason. However, if you are reading the above and haven't ever had success backing up a DVD, then yes, you may want to check your burner, media etc. I know when I started backing up I made 8 coasters in a row before I realized I better try a different burner and I purchased a Plextor. Not a single coaster since.
Like someone said earlier in the thread, for some movies if you don't want the hassle of trying to try different programs and methods to backup some of the tougher movies, just go buy the movie. It's actually kind of fun when you finally tackle the backup though.

-you haven't got Region 2 of World's End then as there most definitely is a problem with Region 2 of this movie; i've been told by the good folks over at cdfreaks that Fengtao is working on the problem as we speak, a new Beta is due out shortly. i know this is the Ratatouille thread but i felt it necessary to highlight the DVDFab problems so we can be better prepared for noob posts re the latest movies

@law
law it was also me who suggested going out and buying the movie. i didn't mean what i said as a matter of fact statement, but rather something to think about or keep in mind.
like you mentioned you got urself a plextor n bam! bye, bye, coasters.
it just seems like now it's becoming infectious not to b able to back up a flick. i like urself use the same proggies except for imgburn. no problem.
i'll bet anything not everyone has taken to the suggestions given in this thread and also the guides. that's ok i was a newbie once and still very much am to a whole lot, but i learned that every successful person, whether us at ripping, or any king, pres, warrior, etc.. had some kind of advisor or mentor. hence advice is always given, but rarely taken.
that being said it's not such a bad idea to check your tools before starting to operate. at least you eliminate that straight off the back as a potential issue.
putting it even in more perspective, time is always money. the time spent trying to back up these flics in full disc mode has already passed the amount of $$$ to just buying the video outright.
it's all good though. experience has always been the best teacher.

thnx creaky. updates on anything related to an impass w/a ripping proggie is never enough info. how can any of us contact dvdfab or anydvd to report an issue so they can look into it?

You made a good point, didn't mean to take issue with it. The right equipment (like my Plextor) and media make backing up a breeze 99% of the time. I just didn't want anyone to be discourage by having a problem with Ratatuille because it's causing problems even with the right equipment. Plus, like I said (not realizing you said it) you were dead on when you suggested buying the movie. It's all good, wise advice.
