happy b-day aabbccdd~ :) just thought i'd mention it...i'm probably not the first to tell you that today, but i know after this post, i will not be the last :)
hope you have a great b-day and a good evening...you getting ur opteron 175 soon? perhaps as a b-day present? hehe...anyways, just to let you know, i am MORE than familiar with the ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe mobo now, figured everything out in terms of bios settings over the last week, got my 4400+ to a rock stable 2.64ghz now (higher than fx-60 speeds) hehe...if ya need any assistance in OC'in (if you choose to do so once you get ur chip), you know how to reach me...quick point, the A8N32-SLI BIOS settings are DIFFERENT than the A8N-Premium/Deluxe models, so keep that in mind when you start adjusting your settings :) i found this out the hard way when Sophocles was giving me suggestions and i couldn't find the setting in the BIOS to change the values LOL, there are slight variations between the 2 mobos

Sony and Maxell are both known for this and what they're doing is 'correcting' the country of origin . . . apparently they have a bunch of labels printed up with MIT and they use them for the MIJ discs . . .
It would be illegal to intentionally mis-mark the country of origin

A little off topic, but another way to prevent lost packages from UPS and/or FedEx, have them delivered to your place of work, generally they get delivered earlier in the day than residential deliveries, and there will be someone who will sign for them.

I believe you there, Verbatim wise. I've been burning games since back in the day of 5 1/4 floppies on PCs, using Copy 2 PC Deluxe Option boards. Every since I started using Verbatims for my PS2 games, I no longer had to rebuild games, except those that were dual layered.
I just happenned to be surfing Ebay, and ran across the Taiyo Yuden name, and thought - jackpot - bingo - I'm a winner here. So, I grabbed the bundle of 100 for 28 bucks, received them, and verified the serial numbers, etc. So, I thought I had a good thing going until I made a few game burns, and noticed - what the heck.
Thus, I returned here to see what I had missed, and you have cleared away the fog. My TYGO3's are a no-no, and I should have been using the 8x TYG02's. So, I purchased two sample discs off of Ebay last night. If they do right, I'll head back and get the bundle of 100.
thanks again for your reply,
Phaser1.

ok i got a few questions here. since i have gotten my sonymij(ty coded) i have burned about 6 movies on them and also about 4 or 5 on my old verbs.. the sony's i havent had any problem out of but my verbs i have noticeds some good sized pixles showing and a bit of sticking. i have just started useing the ripper that comes with anydvd now and rip the movie to my HD then burn fro it with clonedvd. just a min or two longer but works great.but this is the odd thing i dont really know if it is a problem with the media or my standalone.... i would watch a burnt movie take it out and put another one in and begin to watch it(just seems to be the second movie is burnt on the verbs) and thats when i notice the pixles.. is it maybe my standalone is haven a problem reading over31/2-4 hours of non original movie disc? i know it sounds stupid but its all i can think of.. ive yet to find a program that i can do a pi.po jitter test, one that is compatible with my burner.
ive used dvdinfopro and it does a crc read error test and nothing shows on any of my newer burns as of any bad reads. here is what is even odder. if i wait a bit or put these disc in another player in my house they seem to be fine. all my players are a 3-4 years old. with the exception to the dvd/vcr combo i bought for my boys which i havent tried to play any of the newer burnt movies on them......
man im just a ramblin on here...lol sorry guys.
@catfreak..
i hope that is true

I believe you there, because they appear to be like a Rolex, everyone wanting to sell a fake of it. However, the seller I'm dealing with, I did extensive research on, and even bought my current bundle from. DVD Decrypter reports the DVDs are Taiyo's, and that's how I also obtained the type match being TYG03's. I checked out those two other stores, and I end up saving more from the seller/company on Ebay, including shipping. Plus, I can use my PayPal account as well.
Once I get the new Taiyo's, I do a few burns, then report back on here my results.

LOL
if it is, i hope he calls me out again...i'm always down for a good debate! :)
btw, IF it IS silvertek, they are FAKE TYs, 100% sure about that...checking w/ a media identifier program will NOT tell you this, check my first post here in this thread to verify authenticity.

Hi everyone!
Just bought 4 more cakeboxes of verbs DVD+R 8x(pack of 50 discs) made by Taiyo Yuden, same as those i bought before and in total i have bought 12 packs of these babies in these last three weeks(if my memory is right about the time).so in total it's exactly 600 DVD+Rs i actually have in my possession.
All these things i've read about the Taiyo made Verbs have made me pretty hungry about these babies. And here(in Shanghai)impossible to find other medias made by Taiyo or even unbranded Taiyos except the verbs that i've luckily found,so that's the reason i've been rushing in buying all these before they become extinct.
And after all what i have read,i don't want to use other brands which are not made by the great Taiyo Yuden.
But however i have some questions,i know it may look a bit stupid from my part to ask but i'm a newbie and i'm ready to learn from all those who are much more experienced than me and any of your advices are the most welcomed by me.
That's my question,as i have bought all these verbs DVD+Rs(600 in total),for how long can i store them before using them?(as i know how difficult to find and precious they are, plus they are not available in Mauritius,i'm going to use them only for important back-ups and use those cheap medias i mistakenly bought in the past to give to those who still consider these crap medias as the best, but not in my opinion,as from now on it's only Taiyo Yuden for me!!!
Do they have a sort of lifetime even before burning them? And what's the best way of preserving these blank medias(some will still be unused and packed),like for example, they should not be exposed to direct sunlight,etc....
I'm someone who really care about my stuffs, mostly DVDs as they can be easily scratched if not taken good care of.So that's why i would like to know what's the best way of keeping them without the risk of damaging them and also to know for how long they can be kept before using them(as i already bought 600 of them!!!i know i'm a bit crazy to buy all these but when i knew they were genuine ones, passed all the 3 conditions+the "MIJ" on the package, couldn't stop myself from buying more and more, and now i'm a bit afraid if one of you guys says to me that they can't be stored for too long time.
Someone,Please!remove this thought out of my head!!!!!!
Btw,paid one pack of 50 for around $16.33.Good deal or not?
Thanks.
Vincent

LOL, yes, this whole time i've just been pretending to own TYs but have never used one b4 in my life~ HAHAHAHAHHAHAHA, that would be a trip!

congrats on finding MORE of the VerbTYs in your area, as aabbccdd stated, keeping them in a dark/cool/no direct sunlight place will ensure longevity in those discs...i have some 4x TYG01s DVD-R from almost 2 years ago that are just waiting to be burned (since they don't produce them anymore, i'm glad i stocked up when i did, i don't burn DVD-R format regularly, as i'm a DVD+R format guy, but you get the point) :)
there is also no need to consider yourself looking stupid at all~ we ALL started as a newbie at one point or another and we learn as we go on...there are NO stupid questions here regarding the many aspects of Taiyo Yuden, just so you know~ :)
so, based on your post, seems like you got the 600 YUDEN000T02s (8x DVD+R TYs) right? those happen to be MY PERSONAL favorite discs at this time, they are simply the best i've used so far in the many brands and speeds of DVD+R i've used over the years~ :) Verbatim MCC002/MCC003/MCC004 are good as well, as are the Hitachi made Maxells MIJ with the MID coding of MAXELL001/MAXELL002 (4x + 8x respectively), i have YET to be able to find the newest 16x DVD+R Maxell MIJ which should code out to MAXELL003, i'm SURE they are great quality discs as well~ :)
glad that you've found some more genuine TYs in Shanghai, must be difficult to find them, you got a very decent price on them as well...nice job! :)
don't know if you mentioned it before, what dvd burner/drive are you currently using? for the most part, i would recommend burning these new TYs u got (when time comes for the "important backups" as you put it) @8x if you got a good burner...i would recommend you NOT "overburn" them (burn faster than the rated speed of the disc, which in this case is 8x) if your drive allows for this...
good luck and you should be set for quite awhile with your new found inventory of media :) with my company, i buy TYs by the thousands each month, so i know what it feels like to have a good size supply ready at any given moment~ :) you will come to appreciate this "peace of mind" as well too, it's a good feeling LOL
