haha!I have one of these modded 360 and it doesn't use flashed firmwares but instead use a real modchip.So i can play any backup games from any region as well as original games.I already bought some copy games which are sold around 4 bucks each and they work fine.It was already modded when i bought it new at the store.It saved me from all these complicated steps to flash the firmware,etc and on that there's great risk of bricking your 360.
I don't think you'll need to wait till that long to get a real modchip there,it's on it's way.If they do have that stuff here,why not other places?

What's the name of the chip? Where did you get it? Do you have a link? Forgive my skepticism, but that's totally not accurate from the info I've recieved. The info I have is from very good sources, as to which I have no doubt about their reliability or accuracy. I'll look into this and see what I can find.
Edit- I did some checking, that's total bollocks. I was pretty sure it was, but I just wanted to be sure. The NME chip and the Globe360 are the only chips out yet, both of which are soldered to the DVD housing and inject firmware on the fly. You cannot play backup games from another region , and there's no homebrew as yet for the 360. If you're telling the truth, there should be some way to prove it. Second post down. I know you're full of shite now. No store would replace a 360 that's been modded, as doing so would violate the warranty.

@ TY4ever I have heard some BS in my time but that takes it! You only had your 360 replaced under warranty for a faulty drive 3 days ago. As to buying a premodded 360. Seeing as how working 360 modchips don't exist there can be no other reply to this than to say..
Post a link to the store and prove your claim or (fiend time) Shut the F**k up!. Bulshi**ers get caught out very easily! LMAO!
And BTW only pirates or complete idiots admit to buying backups..heh heh heh. That's a prison offence and against the site rules... ;)

one thing i would like to ask you,where are you from?Whatever the country you are,do you actually think that's the only place on earth to get 360s?And if there is any premodded 360,do you still actually think that your place would be the only one to have it?Well for your information,i bought my 360 in the country where all the 360s are made,i.e,in China,more precisely in Shanghai.And you have to admit that here things come out quicker than any other places!Have you even been to Shanghai?If yes,then you would know that not every games shop advertise their products.When i said that i got my faulty 360 replaced by a new one,well it's been replaced by that shop where i bought it.And of course any modification on the 360 is performed by the shop itself and it voids the MS warranty.Do you actually think that they would be stupid enough to send it back to Microsoft with the modchip still inside?Of course not,now what they will do with it,i don't care,the most important is that i can say i got my faulty one replaced(which is under the shop's own rule).If you still want proof,well what i can say is try to free yourself and do drop in China and you'll see with your own eyes and i bet you'll fall into buying one too.By the way,don't take me for any of these chinese guys,i'm none of them and i actually do not live here.

@TY I asked Jan to look at this thread to verify my suspicision you weren't being truthful. So if anyone should draw your ire, it's me. I don't buy your claim for a second, it goes against everything I've learned about the 360. I don't like people passing what I perceive to be BS info. I'm not so pompous as to think I know all about modchips, for any system, but I will always dispute claims I feel to be false. There's no evidence but your word, which frankly isn't good enough. If I make a claim about something, I can and will provide proof to back it up. I don't wish to see this thread turn into a flame war, I have too much respect for DocTY. If need be, I will leave. But don't go passing along false info. You claim you don't want to draw attention to yourself, but your post does just that. If there's some proof to support your claim, throw it out there.

ok, i take it i should never have mentioned xbox in my reply to tokijin publically as i know it's completely OFF-TOPIC; however, this IS my thread and i really don't mind anyone helping others in any topic if the INTENT is to HELP them~
there is no need for inflammatory remarks by ANYONE towards anyone else, whether a poster has an "inaccurate" reply or not, personal attacks are not warranted nor allowed by the rules of AfterDawn... simply correcting someone is one thing and if a MATURE discussion is what is needed to examine the facts provided and PROOF is what you desire, let's discuss this in a civil manner without the use of name calling ok?
i know for those of you that ARE extremely knowledgeable in the game consoles (tokijin + janrocks) that when inaccuracies are presented, you will try to get to the bottom of things and expose a possible fabrication or "call someone on their bluff" (i am VERY much the same way in regards to PC computer hardware and dvd media, you can only imagine how many times i wanted to take a few members out back and feed em' to the dogs for the CRAP/INACCURACIES they post online; but before doing so, i have to keep my temper under control and realize that they may be living or residing in a part of the world that i am completely unfamiliar with and the rules/laws that govern the land are quite possibly NOT the same as it is in my own country, in regards to what is actually available in their markets/technology sector compared to what is available to me here in the U.S.)
anyways, before i compose another epic mini-drama...let's all play nice here shall we? i too have had my OWN PERSONAL issues/vendettas with a few particular members here who shall go unamed, but it doesn't begin nor end with personal attacks, i found this out the hard way about a year ago before a few of the moderators stepped in...i have learned not to take comments/experiences posted by others too personally, as it will only raise your blood pressure and put you in a place that is far from being "pleasant"...i've just let my "differences" go with those members and the mods will/have taken care of the situation so these flame wars do not get out of control.
there have been dozens of people that have come to me via PM and thanked me for all the information and clarification this thread has provided them since it began, i DO NOT take credit for all the help as it is due to ALL the valued contributors and their experiences here that have made it a long-running thread that keeps growing each day...keep it civil and productive, that way everyone can benefit from the knowledge/experiences that are found within these pages....

Think what you want. I never once personally attacked him. I disputed his claim. If I said something that people believed to be false, I'd hope someone would challenge me. If so, I'd prove it or withdraw my claim.
@anyone Spare me your lectures. I make a living off passing along good info to help people. When someone is clearly claiming something that isn't true, I will call them out. I will pursue with due diligence people who I believe to be passing along misinfomation. If I let that slide, it'd be an insult to everything I believe. Jan's response may have been over the top, but she's my friend, and she has the right to her opinion. Time was, it wasn't people who pointed out misinfomration who got lectured, but people who passed it along.

I won't argue with you there. However, I have no hand in that. Search my posts and see how many flame wars I've been in. Not many. 95% of my posts are on topic and aimed at helping people. i was not claiming that you personally attacked TY4ever, if that is what you got from my post, i put the blame on myself actually for even mentioning the xbox in my earlier reply to you because THAT is what caused this all...i don't know jack about consoles and you know that i have always relied on your knowledge whenever i wanted to know a little bit more about a particular system, i trust your suggestions/recommendations...
as to your comment about people getting lectured, coming from someone who has been here on AD longer than you, i've been the TARGET of flamewars simply because i pointed out the misinformation of others, nobody is questioning your knowledge on the subject...that is something we BOTH agree on and will NOT back down from, if we see information as FALSE and inaccurate, we call them out...i do the same thing...
i never once questioned the wealth of knowledge that both you and janrocks have in the various consoles, i just think that when people discuss things regarding consoles because you 2 are the "go to" sources on them, you take it personally...u don't think i get sick and tired of all the shit that is said in the pc hardware and media forums? post after post of nothing but absolute CRAP and lies and misinformation? we each have our own "friends" and "enemies" here on AD, there is no debating that, but where do we draw the line? there is nothing wrong w/ pointing out false information, i am in the very same boat as you in that regards...what began as a simple question from me to you has turned into a flamewar, i am not blaming you, i am blaming myself for even asking you the question because i was curious as to what was involved in modding and such...

Okay!Doc you don't need to take the blame,i was the one for putting something that can't be shown and proved to others.And i don't take it wrong if Tokijin and janrocks tried so hard correcting me for that.It's good to see there's always people here to check the crdibility of what others say.For this,others will benefit.
But Tokijin and Janrocks,i really want to apologise if i have created some electricity in the air.And please let us start a better conversation and leave what have been said behind(if both of you can),let's remain in that friendly atmosphere as this thread used to be.I don't want any conflict between members here just because of me.Doc is not trying to be on anyone's side,he's just doing his best to keep the thread as pleasant as possible.

Agreed. I don't want a flame war here, and I apologize if I in any way perpetuated one. The issue is a dead one. I do tend to take things personally when people question me on certain topics, but I do feel strongly about accurate information as well, sometimes those two things don't jive. Doc I understand what you're saying, and again I apologize if I've tarnished the thread at all. You know how much I respect you and hope we can move forward. If I was on the defensive, it's because this topic has been a very important one to me personally of late, that of accurate information and honest feedback. Either way, this thread isn't a showcase for my personal values system.
Back on topic, someone posted that Super DragonballZ had issues even with TY's, so I burned it at 8x with ImgBurn to Yuden000T02, and it works perfectly. I've noticed zero playback issues at 8x, I owe Doc for tipping off to burning at 8x. I'm very hesitant to try new things, especially when burning at 4x had been so good to me. However, burning at 8x, I've noticed zero playback issues, and I'm so used to the speed. I accidentally burned a disc at 4x the other day, and the wait time drove me nuts lol.

there is very little you could say to me to make me upset, i respect you for your VAST knowledge with consoles and everything in that field, i think we are the same when it comes to something either of us feel strongly about, for you, it's the console, be it ps2 or now the xbox or any other system you have a lot of experience with, you know the ins and outs of all the modifications/software/components/etc. for me it's very similar w/ all the various medias and manufacturers i have dealt with in the past on all the diff. platforms of pc components be it Intel, Amd, Nvidia, ATI, mobos, gpus, optical drives, powersupplies, memory, ya know, anything hardware related i find interest in~ :)
we are not very diff. in terms of how we go about sharing this knowledge, i always put EXPERIENCE with a particular product 1st, it weighs heavily on anything i teach on here...without experience, someone's OPINION on a product don't mean jack...it's very much like a lotta the "fanboys" u see nowadays, people going purely on "spec sheets" they find online and bashing ps2/ps3 or xbox or nintendo or whatever without ACTUALLY owning one and playing it to experience for themselves before making these outlandish claims that one "sucks" or one is "the best"...i'm sure you know exactly what i'm talking about as you prolly read it everyday :)
anyways, i don't want any "bad blood" between us, i have enough "enemies" here on AD to last me for a long time; you were actually one of the few people i PM'd regarding my "problems" with a few particulars here and that in and of itself should speak volumes as to who i actually "trust" here and consider a "friend" :) i think we ALL "look out for others" whom we respect on here, i for one include you in my "little circle" as well~ for whatever it's worth LOL
anyways, in terms of many people having an issue with a particular game, that is just their lack of experience in building/burning it PROPERLY, why would you have problems? you know how to do it correctly, so why would that game be any different? it's like all the threads u see about a particular movie someone can't backup, it's not because the software programs are not capable of doing it, it's lack of experience in the details of the building/burning process that run into their issues~ if you know HOW to do it correctly, there should be very little that can stop you~ :)
no worries about tarnishin' anything, no harm no foul, we ALL have a right to an opinion, whether one agrees with it or not i really don't care, but i WILL fight for the RIGHT of someone expressing their OPINION on whatever topic...it's all good.

LOL on the rare occasion i've accidently done that myself, when i use a burning program i rarely used frequently in the past, i forget that i didn't change way back when...so, i'm sitting there thinking, ALL MY BURNS take approx. 8min, wtf is taking this so long...waiting...waiting...did my drive fall back into PIO mode or what? no need for apologies, i know u meant no harm, the reason i take the blame for it all was because it was MY OWN "off-topicness" that started the whole thing...my own curiousity got the best of me and this was what happened...but as agreed upon, it's a dead issue...we all juss move forward~ :)
we all live and learn, we will not always agree on each other's point of view, but everyone has the right to their own opinions...i've actually gotten into pretty big debates when someone straight up told me that Taiyo Yudens sucked because they happen to have received a "bad batch" then went off into the media forums and basically had a "2 word reply" in every other thread saying "TY sucks"...when i tried to engage him in a meaningful debate on the validity of his claims, all he could say was TY sucks cuz he couldn't get it to work on HIS setup...naturally, u can't argue with people that don't have the intelligence to get something to work before blaming something else for their lack of ability~ :) in the right hands and with the right knowledge, one person's "defective piece of crap part" could be the next best thing since sliced bread to the next fellow~ :)

Phew 6AM in the east lol, eyes getting droopy. It's all good man, same here Doc, you're one of the few members here I really respect. I'd make concessions to you that I wouldn't for most people. There's certainly no ill will on my part, most of my post was a general statement, probably in bad taste.
You're correct, random games don't work threads are just like random movies won't work threads, it's a case of low grade media/lack of experience. No matter how many times you post it, people will always come along that say media quality doesn't matter, my brand works, so don't listen to so and so. I fight it, to a limited degree, at least when I'm certain that person has probably burned less than a 100 discs. I doubt I've even come close to the 1,000 disc mark myself. Probably more along the lines of 500-700 discs. Still never had a coaster with TY's that wasn't human error. It's mind boggling that people will still use crap media, I guess it's just one of those things where they doubt it until they start having issues. I like to do things the easy way, ImgBurn, TY's, set it and forget it.

@docTY i did ATL lastnight on them 16x sony mij's even burnt it at 12x came out perfect even plaed on my crappy pioneer player i have been haven problems with reading my verbs or +r media...i need to get me a burner that is compatible with Nero speed check so i can see some of the quality checks on these disc...maybe i can send one to ya and let you check it out..lol

i'll be more than happy to check out one of your scans~ :) and the quality on them...i actually bought ATL as my wife is a big "T.I." fan, so, i have something to compare your burn to~ :) (ie. compare your backup @12x vs my burn @8x, i'm sure they are pretty close in scores, juss PM me if u really wanna know)

I have had a batch of TY white 8x -R that, so far, have had 35 discs that have multiple crc errors. I bought them from SMS and ran them through dvdinfo, which I have begun to do automatically. Anyone have an idea why so many?

I forgot to add that I used CloneDVD and the bad discs were intermittent. For instance, one would be bad and I would then write another one that would be without error. Although, I have had three in a row tonight on one movie that I had made a successful copy just previous to the three bad ones.
