ATTENTION MODS!

Could somebody shorten the thank you line of chilenix, about 7 posts before this one, so that the page does not spread over the 3 monitors I am using?!?!?!?

TIA

I'm sorry but my question never get answered.
I have a [US]wii with wiikey.
My wii version is 2.2. Is it ok to go online and do the 3.0 update?

I wen back and read your posts.

Basically it looks like your Wii is working fine.

However, I would update to 1.9g, before going online to update your Wii's firmware.

The online update will be ok. Before doing that, right after the 1.9g update, turn region override ON if you want.

Hi, I have a modded wii with a D2C chip. I'm wondering if i can update my Wii. When i update it, a message pops out saying that if my wii has had modifications done to it, this update might cause your Wii not to work properly. Should i update it?

Thanks for your help.

Hi rafadawn,

I dont have a gamecube controller.
But I tried insert GCOS config 1.3 before, It will show the menu but I dont have a controller to select. is that means work with gamecube mode?

I also tried insert the recovery 1.9b, and click on the gamecube, then the screen go blank and waited long also nothing happen.

Hiya,
Just a note that galaxy works fine with the 1.9 padded USA update and the firmware update via the wii settings menu. I used a lightscribe DVD+R and disk utility (mac) to burn. 3.1 also solved all my guitar hero connection problems. Wohoo!
Thanks!

1) Yes, it means that GCOS works.

2) The Recover 1.9b is supposed to run 3 to 5 minutes, even though nothing appears on the screen.

3) Try burning the 1.9g update (use the padded Jap file from first post) Burn it on a good quality DVD-R at 2x. When it says to press the A button, you can use the RESET button on your Wii.

Now i bought 5 DVD-R x16 discs.
And i have few questions. Does old games work (like the zelda) work without the Region thing on?
And should i burn them in speed x4 or x2?
And should i use Nero or ImgBurn?

Thanks.

Only advise I can give you test it! I am using DVD+R and burning them at 4x-8x and they are working perfectly without a FLAW, so test.

I found this

Note that is states "You can also use a GCOS Multigame disc to boot original and backup imports by swapping discs before you choose "Boot DVD" in the menu."

Is this the softmod to play GC backups? If so can this method play Wii backups?

This is known as semi-brick. You must have played a game with some sort of update from a region different than your Wii.

If your console is PAL, you will need a PAL SMG original and see if that works.

There is a whole Sticky on Wii brick problems.

We need some additional info, in order to answer:

Which region is your Wii? Which game from which region bricked your Wii? What's the current firmware on your Wii?

It is not possible that it was Excite Truck. I think this game was practically a launch game and it does not carry any firmware update.

Check your Wii serial #, if it starts with LU, then it is a US wii.
If that is the case then use SMG(US) to unbrick your Wii.

If your Wiikey is up to 1.9g, then it should be just fine.
