Rebelyun ,
According to the Shrink site you have come across the Arccos encryption. You need to either use DVDFAB Decrypter and rip the DVD to HD first or you can use AnyDVD and use the ripper function w/in it and rip to HD

I've transferred a bunch of my VHS tapes to DVD over the years, and lately I've been trying to burn those DVDs to other DVDs for my friends and such. I've always used Nero or sometimes DVD Shrink and never had problems. But as of yesterday, I keep getting this cyclic redundancy check error. I've read some of the suggestions in this thread, I've tried AnyDVD and I've tried CloneDVD2, but neither of them seem to work at all. Does anyone have any ideas on what to do? Thanks

mmt1552,
Welcome to the forum. A CRC can be smudges,Scratches, the new encryptions and also if the .ifo and bup file is corrupted. Since( I take it) that this is a homemade movie then it is probably bad spot on the DVD or the DVD you have is corrupted ( ifo and bup). You might try DVDDecrypter to copy the disk in mode > iso>read and then mode>iso write. Nero and Shrink sometimes incorrectly alters what you have and that can cause the corruption

jsf10,
Look at the files on the DVD and tell us what the extension is at the end of the files. Are they AVI, Vobs, ifo, iso etc

Copy the CD to HD and then copy to DVD or do a copy from CD to DVD on the fly. If it is a file format Shrink or Recode does not recog then it will not play as it needs to be converted
That is why I wanted to know the file extensions to make sure they are DVD-Compliant so they would play .

Did you put the file on the CD as data or did you burn the CD as playable on your PC or standalone DVD player? Just put the disk in and look at what the file extension is on the disk, this will tell us what format the disk is in.

rehaku,
Welcome to the forum. DVDDecrypter has nor been updated in about a year. You need to use DVDFAB Decrypter, Ripit4Me or AnyDVD to rip te DVD to HD. If you use DVDFAB Dec. then you might need to use VobBlanker to correct any structural problems and then use Shrink to process accordingly.

sarsa35,
Sounds like you have a bad press if it is doing that in the DVD Player and you will need to get another copy if you can. You might try ripping it w/ DVDFAB Decrypter and see if it can get through the problems you are getting

Hi everyone, I am having a data error (cyclic redundancy check) message when I am trying to copy data files off a newly burned data dvd. The PC is brand new put together last week. All cables and everything snuggly fit so that's not the problem. The dvd drive is the NEC - ND-3550A.
The data dvd was burned using Nero, it had no errors during data verification. And the same files that I wanted to copy from that disc works in the other computers perfectly. I also used a program called cdcheck to see if the files are corrupt (which they shouldn't be) on all my computers and only that one computer that gave me this error message says there are errors on that disc. I updated the drivers and I still get the same message.
I am thinking the DVD drive is no good. Any suggestions? Thanks for your time.

sarsa35...Windows Media Player is not the best video player; if you have Nero Showtime, use that to play your dvd's. WMP needs more work to make it a more acdeptable video player. cheers!
