Hey guys I need help. I backup REAL Wii games, works okay. When I try to dump backup games (already burned wii games) it gives me this problem. It doesnt read backup games somehow.

Systems specs: win xp(pirated copy), AMD athlon 1ghz, 768 ram. Using LG GDR8164bb dvd drive.

You can just copy the Backup games directly with Nero Copy or whatever you want. You can't dump already dumped games.

Once a game is already dumped, its a normal DVD and can be ripped or copied or whatever using a normal DVD drive with any normal ripping program e.g. Nero!

When you say wii disc do you mean any dvd-r

No, I mean an original Wii game disc. An already burnt game will not help you in that department since you can just copy it through Nero instead of Rawdump...

OMG are you kidding me?

1.Check the very first post on this forum. All the information is there.

2. We are not allowed to tell you any information as to where to get pirated software...for obvious reasons. Admins will ban you if you keep asking about this...

Hi everyone,

I just read this thread today (I buyed a wii yesterday) and before having too much pain to my arms, I would like to ask you a quick stupid question :

On the first page of the thread there is a mention of the dvd rom to buy : * LG-8164b
* LG-8163b
* LG-8162b
* LG-8161b

In the stores I am checking, I always find the LG-8164BB and the LG-8164B is out of stock. Is there a noticeable difference between these drives and is the "BB" one able to make correct backups too ?

Many Thanks,

I think the extra "B" means black doesn't it? What colour is the drive? If you're unsure, just make sure that place lets you get a refund and then take it home and try it...

@mfool

The reason you got a ZIP file after extracting is because you have ISO files associated with WinRAR. To unassociate WinRAR with RAR files do the below...

Open WinRAR then go to Options and then settings in the drop down menu.

Now click on the Integration tab and under (Associate WinRAR with) untick the ISO box.

There was also a similar question later on, about page 20 (ish), but having read the entire thread, there was not one single answer. I have also read somewhere about playing games from an SD card - I know this is possible, because the Wii allows you to download games for the virtual console onto SD cards as memory expansions (albeit only allowing you to play the game on the console it was downloaded to). Since the Wii has two USB ports at the back, shouldn't games be playable from external HDs? if so, what format should they be in? I'm a complete newbie, so correct me if I'm wrong, but this would eliminate the need for chipping the console altogether, yes?

and how would you access the hdd through the usb port?
you would need to at least run non nintendo signed software to do this and without a chip you cant

i think if it was that easy modchips would be out of business

I apologize if this question ha been asked and answered already. I scanned through about half the pages and didn't see it anywhere....

After installing a Wii modchip, will there be any restrictions on the features of the Wii? For example... with an XBOX modchip, you can't play online. Is there anything like that with the Wii?
And I know this has been asked, but I figured since I'm here, I might as well get a current answer... What is the best chip to get right now, and is there anything I should hold out for in the near future?

This is an excellent forum. I've visited many, many times. This is my first post, only because I've never had to ask a question... the answers have always been here. Keep up the excellent work.

Hey, I've been able to rawdump the Wii files with no problem, but when I try to burn it with Nero, or any other burning program, it won't allow me to burn at any speed below 4x so it can't read the disk in my Wii console. Do I need to try a different blank media that only allows a maximum of 2x burning speed? The only media I can find for that slow a burning speed is RW media. Is that what I need to use?

Thanx,
RavenDave

Something doesnt sound right with that..The suggested brun speed is 2 but there are various people are burned at way higher for example 12 and have posted postitive results...i would recomend using imgburn to burn the iso and then rechekc your wires on the chip.....

i use 16x maxell DVD-R and burn at 4x

the wii will read discs burnt at faster speeds of 2x so try different blank discs like verbatims and maxell and other decent brands out there

Same Question Here... Can u still play online WIth a modchip?
And with backups?
(too bad i installed the modchip already)

Blalok, atm all mochips can do the same things, however i would adise u not to get a wiikey, as it looks like they might have left the project long ago and wont be suppling any updates. Wiinja or Cyclowiz dont seem like a bad idea atm.

Also if u have the knowedge (i dont), consider a wiifree or similar, they are starting to get some nice features, and are constantly updated
