I bought the LG drive and tried to burn Zelda..wala..it worked. My wiikey just arrived and i found out that i have a 25W soldering ironnot a 15W. Do u guys think its ok to use it? I also bought electric tape, tri-wing screw, wire set, and the smallest tip they have for the iron. Crossing my fingers...

Just about to get my Wii modded but I wanted to ask some questions about what kind of media to use (be really specific, don't just say Verbatim, for instance).
I've got some Verbatim DVD-RWs laying around (I'd be more specific, but I can't find them ATM) and a few TDK DVD-Rs (also lost) and wanted to know if anyone's tried these (mix-n-match, I know) with any success, as well. Once I find them and try them on my new modded Wii, I'll let everyone know about those media's successes (or failures).

I really need some help on the Wii backup games, I have tried everything I have seen on the pages but still nothing. I just keep getting errors, I have all of the needed material to backup the games, but every time I try I keep getting the error from the rawdump 2.0 saying something about jtdebug or someting. Then I have deleted and reinstalled rawdum 2.0 and microsoft .net framework 2.0 and I still can't make it work, if there is anybody that can help me out I would really appreciate it.

The Wiikey is a tiny piece of chip, so I strongly recommended to install it with wire. Though I did install it without wire by luck but it is probably the most difficult task of the year for me.
I also used the wire method. its easier and appears to be more reliable (for me).
Wire is not easy to find.. Sites are recommending Kynar wire (30 awg). I found them on EBay since it cost less than from the the mod chip sites.
GOOD LUCK!

the .net framework keeps crashing for me. I have tried running in safe mode and get the same problems. I assume I can quit and restart the session without problem. Is anyone else hitting this problem?

I've been having issues dumping my games onto my computer;
to be specific every time I try to dump a game (wii play and/or zelda) everything works flawlessly. I burn the game and it doesnt load.
I downloaded winhex to view the coding on the games and after about two lines of normal code an enormous amount of 0's appears and then it returns to normal the rest of the way through the dump??
I've tried super mario sunshine wii play and zelda and they all do the same thing even though the byte size is precise??
Can anyone please help me?
I'm using windows xp, the recommende LG drive, net framework and
rawdump v2.0.
Thanks,
Tyler

its starfox, PAL edition, i tried to run it on my wiikey chipped US wii and just goes to a black screen after pressing start in the games channel. this black screen issue also happens with 2 disk games like tales of symphonia (PAL) and res evil 4 (US).
yes i have region unlocked and the burning stuffs worked fine for wii games

Hey, everyone. I followed through page by page and haven't found any problem relating mine.
I ran out of DVD-R discs so I burned Mario Strikers Charged with a Verbatim DVD+R Dual Layer disc. I am using a NEC DVD DL Burner, Windows Vista and used ImgBurn to burn the file at 4x speed, and my system was upgraded to 2.2U before I ran the game.
The burn was successful, the game did make me update, it did not mess with my Wii settings, but after it updated, I keep getting the "Error: Please turn system off and eject disc" message.
It's funny how it was able to install the update from the CD but not run the game, any chance it's because I burned on a Dual Layer instead of a regular DVD-R?

If your dumping the disk and the size is correct its not the dump. Try using imgburn to burn the image and try a variety of media of decent quality to see what you liek best. as on DVD-R and dvd + r you have to check what you chip is capable of reading..

ARRRRGHHH .. Ok ive got a "backup" sitting on my desktop in ISO form 4,699,979,776 byte's .I try to back it up with Nero EXACTLY like this thread says I switch it to 1X write speed , insert a disk and it automaticlly defaults to 4X write speed and completes the burn in 15 minutes.. So i tried img burn and it burns in 15 min's as well @ 1x.. What am i doing wrong here.. Ive read for 2 days now and cant figure this out.. Thanks in advance.

I am having trouble in burning wii games, I have used many DVD-R medias and including DVD+R. none of them seem to work for me... i've used ridata, verbatim, sony, taiyo yudens, philips. but all the same. Still i find myself having problems...
The problem is when i insert my newly burned game, the wii can identify that it is a wii game, it shows up on the start screen what game, but when i try to select it and run it, it just displays a black screen, and then hangs and locks up my wii...
Can anybody please help me? has anyone experience this problem too? i've read all the pages of this thread, and i've done at least everything that i could do.. my wii is modded already. someone heeeellllpppp.
