Hello, i have a wiikey installed and i have downloaded some iso files for the wii, and when i open Nero en open the image, Nero says that the blocksize is incorrect etc.

I ignored that and burned the iso anyway at 4x speed, but when i was playing the game on my wii (wario ware), the game gave an error a few times at the same moment. When i tried to open the iso with img burn it said it was an unsupported/invalid file format.

Only Mario Party 8 is working fine (there was no error with that iso), but with my other 8 iso's, img burn will not open them, and Nero keeps giving that message: incorrect blocksize...

(I am using DVD-R from good quality(SONY 17.50 EURO / 10 dvd's)

Could someone help me please?

Thanks!!!

Still just the LG ones, it looks like. It has to be a GDR model, and it looks like LG/Hitachi have the only ones so far.

On a side note, I wonder if Dreamcast games could have been ripped this way had this drive been out back in the day... I used to run a Hotline server and managed to acquire about 150 dreamcast games through that, but it would have been a lot easier to just rip them (Dreamcast used a GD-ROM instead of regular CD-ROM)

Ok, so I got my LG drive today ripped my first wii game (super paper Mario 8) It ripped fine, at 4.37gigs but not to the EXACT byte # as stated in the guide. I dropped it into my wii and it worked. So, is it either a pass / fail if you have the right byte number? As long as its 4.37gigs and plays I shouldn't have a problem, right? Or sometime down the road will the game freeze because of data not there?? I would hate to re-rip it cuz 2.5 Hrs. is a killer!

All my downloaded isos have been hit-and-miss so far, sounds like a problem with the file(s) you downloaded, not equipment or software.

I downloaded the .net framework. When I tried to install it, it gave me an error message saying that it couldn't install on a 64 bit operating systewm (I have XP Pro 64). Is this going to be a problem, or is there something similar built into XP Pro 64.

Also, I ran rawdump on Super Paper Mario, and everything seemed okay, but the file size was off. I ran it again, and came up with the same number as the first time. I want to say it was 4,289,662,... or something similar. Do you have a solution?

I'm having a weird problem after my mod. I can insert my backup of Wii Sports, and it seems to work just fine. I can say play a game of tennis with no problem. Once I'm done, I choose to go back to the main sports menu, which works. Then I'll choose another sport, say golf, which works. I'll get all the way to how many players, and wiimotes, which works. After that screen, just before it asks my skill level, the tv goes dark and I'll get the following error;

The Game Disc could not be read. Please read the Wii Operations Manual for mor information.

The system will only work again when I put the original disc back in. This also happened with my backup of Wii Play. Those are the only discs I have so I haven't been able to test anything else. I've tried both Nero and imgburn, at speeds from 2x to 8x. I'm using an NEC ND-2500A to do my burns, and TDK 16X DVD-R blanks. I also tried to unplug the unit for a while. I don't know what else to try. Anyone else got any suggestions? Thanks.

do the games that you download from the internet work?
because it's not working for me.
I'm using DVD-RW
and the games are the correct size.

I'm I doing something wrong or is it that the torrents don't work

Forgive me if this has been asked. But I have searched this thread and did not find my answer.

I was wondering since I am burning a DVD, wont I need to buy another burner. A burner that burns DVDs. In other words, that LG burner won't suffice as I need another burner to actually burn the back ups.

yeah,

you do not use the LG drive to burn the game, only to read it
any old dvd burner should work however for burning them

Don't use RW, only use DVD-R. Rip a game and see if that works, it might be your modchip that's not working.

Nope, it has to be a GDR-xxxxx. It's not LG that works, it's that particular model that works.

You need to burn the iso to a DVD-R disc. What format are the files you are downloading? .iso? .wii? .bin?

I think you should read this thread from the beginning :)

What is the file extension of the files you are downloading? If it's not .iso, then you are getting the wrong thing. The file should be exactly 4.37gb, and it should end in .iso or .wii

Do you have a modchip installed?

That probably won't work, you need NTSC, not PAL. How big is it?

Whenever I get a PAL game, I can see it in the channel screen, but it won't play.
