Copying the game ISO file onto a SD card will not work, you need to burn it to a DVD. Besides, for you to copy a game onto it, the SD card must be larger than 4Gb. As far as I've heard Nintendo claim, the largest size SD card supported (for right now anyways) is 2GB
where can i get these ISO file from and he was probably talking about the games you download with the wii points

Yes, you are fine. I've done a few Wii mods, and all of them did that when I put in a backup. I think as long as it's a USA game (people were having troubles with Super Striker Mario before, but it sounded like a non-USA game) you will be fine. Actually, I did one on Tuesday, and Big Brain Academy was the one I tried first, no problems after the update.

I had trouble last night backing up Twilight Princess. I assumed it would've been ok backing it up on a FAT32 drive, but I guess I was wrong. So I wasted all that time dumping it, for it to stop at 3.99GB. Anyway, I have a 10GB NTFS hard drive that had enough space available, so I managed to back it up on there.

It works fine, on crap media. But I don't know why, but for some reason the sound is a little odd, or that could be because I haven't played it in ages. I can't really explain it, it's just different. It's probably nothing.

I'm just glad I can put the original away now.

I've just dumped TLOZ: Twilight Princess and it came out to...

4,589,824 KB, this is my second try and it is off again!

Any suggestions?

I think it has to be exactly... Mine came out exactly and worked. I think if its off means you have a bad dump.

I was wondering, a backed up game. Can you backup that said game without having the ISO or having the need for that specific cdrom?

Someone before said they got it to work with Alcohol 120 (I think, never used it) Look back a page.

Other than that, no. You need the iso, you can't even rip a backup with the proper drive. Looks like .5TB drives are going to make a run amongst our community soon... :)

great gudie bunny_c luckly I had a LG-8164b I try the Raw dump 2.0 to copy gamecube games to my harddrive each one took about 45min to copy. I use Nero burning rom to burn the iso on a normal blank dvd. Test it out on my IcedCube works.

Ok. Now I am confused.

I was under the impression that the LG GDR-8164B could read the Wii disks(that works), dump them onto the PC and then using the same drive burn them onto another DVD.

Is that correct? Or do I have to install a DVD burner under the 8164?

That is correct, the LG GDR drive is only for reading, you need to have a writer also. DVD Burners are cheap, but they haven't reached $17 yet! :)

I am using a LG GDR8162B and the dumping works perfectly but when I boot up Nero Burning ROM it will not let me use the same drive to burn DVD-Rs it says that there is nothing inserted into the drive or the drive is not ready.

What gives?

The dump works perfectly but when I use Nero Recorder ROM with my AOpen writer I get this error: "Could not perform start of Disk-At-Once" Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Here's a picture of the error:
