This is how bad it's getting!
I need serious help guys.
Oh and I ran the NAT check, it says it connected properly but failed because I didnt put the Hash for the Torrent file in. I have no idea what's wrong.
Could it be that I refuse to install service pack 2? lol.

luxbenz first off trash azareus, try bit tornado. secondly i think you might not have set the static ip address correctly. Print out the instructions and try it again, following every step to a T. If it says write the info down write it down, if it says test to see which is your internet connection, test it. too many people I have helped guess at the connection and then have problems. Also if u switch to bit tornado and I recpommend you do make sure you adjust the ports to use there as well in prefs (preferences) in blue header on top of the program. If you are still having difficulty with the static ip call ur provider and have them walk u thru it. You can also call ur router tech support to have them check ur other settings to make sure everything was done correctly.

Hey. Fixed my problem now. Here's what happened:
well opened all ports on router, then firewall and on xp too.
Then, which i didnt see mentioned here, was to open one of my BitTorrent(my one obviously) downloads and go to advance and set the port range to 6881-6889.
It still didnt work at this point, but then the most brilliant solution came to my mind: restart the router. lol, after this everything was fine again. of Course i cannot explain this but all i know is that its workin now, so i suggest to anybody who has done all the ports thing, to try RESTARTING YOUR ROUTER.
Hope it helps a lot of you.
thanks for the help recieved anyway.

jo yes thats the right place. In protocol it should be tcp, in global port range 6881-6999, in local type the same or check the box for same as global, in the ip box, put the ip that is static from ip config/all, click apply and save. Make sure you set a static ip address for ALL computers on ur network first. Make sure you open ports or disable ALL firewalls. Make sure you check what ever bt program u r using for any port configuration that has to be done. Reboot the computer for all ur changes to take effect and run a nat test on a running torrent. http://www.portforward.com/networking/staticip.htm http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/protect/ports.mspx http://btfaq.com/natcheck.pl

F metal I can't find your modem on portforward.com or by doing a search. Are you sure thats the manufacturers name? You are going to need to contact them for instructions as to how to forward. Don't be surprised if they tell you it doesn't forward. Some modems will forward ports like a router, others do not. A simple work around for this is to purchase an inexpensive router, hook ur modem to it and forward the ports in the router. check out www.portforward.com to see some of the brands listed there and check out the ease of the forwarding for them to give you an idea of what brand to look for. I recommend linksys from personal use, but there are many that are very good and I don't know what's available in Brazil. You will also need to set static Ip's on all computer hooked to the router, open ports in any firewalls running, configure ur client to use the ports u opened, and always reboot for ur changes to take effect. Also run a nat test to see if u were successful. Check my post to jo for links for all instructions. Let me kno how u make out.

Hi! I'm also getting very slow dl speeds on my torrents, never once seen em change from yellow to green.
Okay my current setup is as follows:
- Windows XP SP1
- Zone Alarm Pro 4
- Bittornado 0.3.2
- Zoom X3 router/modem
- Netgear WGT624 Wireless router
I have 3 computers networked with static ips, i tried port forwarding on the netgear wgt624 but the light still says yellow on the bittornado.
Can anyone help me to sort this out.

Hi
just want to say thank you for all the posts. they've helped me a lot, but not enough unfortunately.
i using windows xp sp2
have a adsl modem and a router
and a 2mb line
futhermore am i using outpost as my firewall.
i have set a static ip, forwarded my ports from 6881 to 6889, opened these ports in windows xp firewall, but i deactivated this piece of shit.
when i use abc, i get a green light but the downspeed stays very slow. about ~10kb. now i know, one should wait because bittorrent is a little slow in the speedpicking area, but i monitored my downloads for a full hour and they still stay low.
i tested several well seeded torrents with the same results. so i'm asking, if i might have overlooked something. does somebody know how to open ports in outpost? i haven't found an option for it yet.
so every little help would be appreciated.

pool1800 http://www.outpostfirewall.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7039 this may help u with outpost or check out some of the other threads there. I would recommend switching to bit tornado for ur bt client. It's a little easier to configure for a newbie. Everything else sounds correct but u r probably still blocked by outpost. Ur speeds will increase as u upload more. U have to upload to download.in the beginning as ur upload is minimal many connections will snub u so that will keep ur speeds down. But i recommend u switch to tornando, just make sure u go into preferences and configure ur ports there to what u forwarded on ur router. Do all ur configuration changes then close the program and reopen. Changes do not take effect til u do that.

coglio did u set a static ip for all computers on the network? did u open ports or disable ur firewall? Also what bt program r u using? did u set the port ranges there to what is in ur router? Did u forward the ports in ur router to a static ip address? Also after u have done all these things shut down ur computer and restart ur router and then reboot. Many wireless ppl have indicated this is helping them. Don't ask me why lol.

Did u set a static ip for all computers on the network, did u open ports in ur firewall did u open ports in ur router? need more info
